  1. 13 game road trip to start their season then got hit hard by covid and injuries. They actually started the season 5-2
  2. His “feud” was the resulting using a legal option in the form of an offer sheet. It was Carolina that took it to ridiculous levels of petty
  3. With the exception of the Sergechev trade Bergevin did very well with the majority his trades. It’s the one aspect of his job he excelled at
  4. Suzuki, 2nd, Tatar for a disgruntled Pacioretty Armia and 2 picks for Bourque Danault and a 2nd (Romanov) for Fleishmann and Weise Byron off waivers Allen and a 7th for a 3rd and 7th Turned Galchenyuk into Domi , into Anderson signed Kovalchuk to a cheap contract then got a 3rd for him 2 months later Scandella for a 4th from Buffalo then traded him a month and a half later for a 2nd and a 4th to St Louis I could go on. Bergevin gets value from trades. He’s not great at roster construction though (and he was handcuffed by the requirement of hiring French speaking coaches)
  5. Why does Montreal trade a serviceable NHL defenceman for a guy who cleared waivers very recently?
  6. The coach hasn’t been fired yet. They fired the GM, AGM, and head of public relations
  7. The islanders don’t have the cap space to take on the extra $5m in cap. Not to mention Boeser will need a raise next summer
  8. Benning has run out of chances to find the right coach. It should be his head on the chopping block and the new GM can decide on who the coach is moving forward
  9. I’m a Vancouver fan too so save your gate keeping for someone else.
  10. As a Montreal fan I’d happily give up Burrows to any team thst he’ll take him. He’s been brutal as the power play coach. Terrible player deployment and utilization.
  11. Considering one of the guys fired was the head of public relations I’d say his dismissal is likely directly linked to the handling of the Mailloux situation
  12. I did say most. Sergechev was Bergevin bowing to the pressure to bring in a young French star. It didn’t work out
  13. At least Vancouver would do well on future trades. Bergevin didn’t do great with roster building but he almost always got great value in his trades
  14. Julien is washed up in this league. Vancouver fans would despise him inside a month
  15. They better not hire Roy. Some whispers of Darche or Luongo
  16. Not surprising. It didn’t sound d like he was returning at after his contract was up at the end of the season anyway. Now we sit back and see what half assed French speaking candidate they bring in to be the new GM
  17. 13 game road trip to start the season and then hit hard by injuries and covid
  18. To quote a disclaimer from the financial industry “past performance doesn’t guarantee future results”. We’re talking about individuals. What people have done before him has nothing to do with what he will do. There actually have been a handful of forwards who won it and ultimately ended up disappointing. He’s still young and can easily turn things around,I think that’s the most likely outcome. but he may not. Time will tell.
  19. I was just shaking my head and my wife asked why. I told her the Canucks are outshooting the other team 40-18 but losing 3-2 and she said “what are they, stormtroopers?” Lol.
