Wasn’t Tampa first since they originally lost him on waivers to the kraken? -

They were due. They’ve played better than their record indicates -

They’ve looked better tonight. They had a goal waved off on a ticky tacky goalie interference call and Anderson has stopped 3 or 4 breakaways. They deserved a better fate tonight -

Yeah. And their power play sucked in the playoffs too. Their penalty kill was amazing though -

Their power play has been crap since he took it over. -

Burrows is their power play coach -
It can be. Other times it’s an utter cesspool

Oh look. Another derogatory nickname. You must be a big Trump fan with how you love to belittle people with nicknames

The Suzuki deal has been pretty universally lauded as a great signing. I have zero issue with it
-
Ideally they would have kept Kotkaniemi. But he’s not remotely worth $6.1m. Once they decided not to match the Dvorak move was a no brainer. He’s a better player than Kotkaniemi atm. They tried to mitigate the loss of Weber with the Savard signing. It hasn’t worked out so far. They were caught off guard by the Price situation (as evidenced by them having to grab a goalie off waivers to back up Allen) Edmundson is in the middle of a terrible family crisis (that again Bergevin couldn’t have predicted). None of this is by design. Bergevin is in the last year of his contract and the last thing he needs is a tire fire of a team. Things happen. In his press conference today he preached patience. I’d be willing to bet most teams in the league will go through a 4 game losing streak this season. Montreal is just doing it at a very bad time
-
If Montreal is only interested in tanking they never would have traded for Dvorak. They would have kept both 1sts they had and went into the season with the players they had. They intended to compete. A poor start doesn’t suddenly mean they had a secret agenda to tank.
-
Your logic makes no sense. If a high draft pick was third ultimate goal they never would have sent a 1st to Carolina to get a 2C in Dvorak. They could have run with what they had run in their system rather than having to perpetrate some elaborate hoax by holding out key players. Montreal has had some poor luck with regards to the players they lost and they haven’t adequately replaced them. That said they’re better than their record indicates. Their forwards will start scoring. Only scoring 3 in 4 games isn’t going to continue all season
-
So that’s what’s causing their bad start? The fact that if they keep playing poorly they may make future moves? That’s some interesting logic
-
Who did Montreal move for future assets?
-
You suggested he’s purposely being held out if the lineup just to facilitate a lower finish. It’s absurd. I’ll make it easy for you. Price genuinely is struggling with something and entered the employee assistance program to receive help. Weber genuinely is dealing with a number of injuries that very well could end his career. Edmundson’s father is dying of cancer and his family is more important to him right now (I believe Boeser went through something similar and no e suggested the Canucks were purposely tanking). Montreal is missing their starting goalie and 2 of their top 4 D. They have a number of new players not to mention a tire fire of a 3rd string goalie backing up Allen. Montreal’s biggest issue atm is that they’ve only scored 3 goals in 4 games. That’s not because of some secret plot. It’s in coaching decisions and poor play. No conspiracy. Just a very poor start to the year
-
Edmundson’s father is dying of cancer. Christ. Does everything have to be a conspiracy? I had to argue with an idiot yesterday that believed Price was faking mental illness to somehow help Montreal circumvent the cap

Is Pettersson not the same player we expect him to be?
qwijibo replied to b3nnyb's topic in Canucks Talk
Quoting an old article where Makar was in 29 games into his career does nothing to support an argument that Pettersson would go first in a redraft done today. -

Has a player ever missed training camp and then not had a crap year? -
Buffalo is o to a 2-0 start , Miller has 2 points in 2 games, and Buffalo only has 6 NHL D signed to contracts atm. Why would they ship out Miller for a 2nd?

Tampa Bay doing what they gotta do to continue the dynasty...
qwijibo replied to HKSR's topic in General Hockey Discussion
I’m done with this conversation. To suggest a highly respected person like Price would stoop to the despicable act of faking a mental illness for “a rest” is pretty much the most disgusting suggestion I’ve ever seen on this website. You’re not a good person. Good day to you -

Answer this. Why would Price consider this for even a moment? He has nothing to gain and everything to lose. -

You’re questioning the integrity of one of the most respected players in the league who literally has nothing to gain by faking a mental illness. He had off season knee surgery. If he needed more time to recover the team could have said he had a setback in rehabbing the injury. But no. You think they decided to concoct a situation that would require him to enter a legitimate treatment program a d publicly admit to have a mental health issue. You think he’d be ok with that along with the risk of the irreparable damage to his reputation if it came out as a hoax? Sure. Seems more likely than he actually is struggling with an issue that required treatment. -
