  1. He didn’t improve Suzuki’s performance. He was just able to cash in on the grade A setups Suzuki provided on a more consistent basis than the other AHL call-ups Montreal was forced to dress last season. He made the most of his time on the top line. But make no mistake, Suzuki was the driving force.
  2. Great deal. Time for him to prove he can be a full time NHL’er
  3. Why would Carolina accept Poolman? Also. What are the conditions on the 1st?
  4. That’s only if there are no claims from anyone ahead of them on the priority list.
  5. Vegas only had what, 6 guys left from the original team? Saying a team full of expansion draft players just won the cup isn’t remotely accurate
  6. Perhaps. But the proposal I was responding to had SJ doing full retention AND taking back a $6m cap dump in Myers
  7. Hockey is a “what have you done for me lately” sport. It’s proven every free agent period. Karlsson just won his 4th Norris with a 101 point season. If San Jose is retaining $5.75m a year for 4 years they’ll be getting a much better package for him than suggested. Karlsson at $11.5m is probably immovable. Karlsson at $5.75m would garner a lot of attention.
  8. It’s a black eye for the fan base for sure. It’s one of the biggest fan bases so there’s bound to be some idiots. Every fan base has them. I recall some Vancouver fans sending Kotkaniemi death threats on Instagram after he and Pettersson got tangled up and Pettersson got hurt. There’s no room in hockey for those kinds of “fans”
  9. They’re also retaining $5.75m for 4 years, taking on a $6m cap dump, and giving up a 100 point defenceman. Hoglander has very little value right now , Ponomarev only slightly more. Just retaining that much for that long is worth more. otherwise they may as well keep Karlsson
  10. San Jose is getting boned, Vancouver and Carolina are getting way to good a deal
  11. If that’s their aim couldn’t Tanev be used in a trade for picks or prospects? What makes Garland a better choice for that ?
  12. Good for him. He got way to much hate from some Canadiens fans. Fresh start with an ex teammate
  13. Love it. Montreal have a lot of young guys that proved they can play last season. Plus they have Mailloux and Hutson coming soon. This clears up $3.5m in cap space (assuming no retention) and gives Montreal a couple picks
  14. Fans aren’t the ones that make the trades. Hughes and company are good with their pick
  15. 44 of Juulsen’s 68 games came prior to his injury that almost ended his career in Nov 2018. He hasn’t been the same player since.
  16. No. they can still make the Jersey but the NHL has banned wearing special jerseys during warmups
  17. Nobody wears them now that the NHL has pussed out
  18. Glad the Capitols didnt get Michkov
