    32 banged up dmen don’t normally turn it around. If I remember right him and Tocchet didn’t really get along in Arizona either.

    Personally with the expectation of the cap increasing a lot over the next few years and with having to sign Petey and Hronek over the next couple seasons I think it was a no brainer to do this. We got a few players starting to enter their prime years and no space to sign them. Im also expecting a few moves to be made before free agency. Seems like JR and Allvin create some cap space only to use it up right away.

    We could have waited it out a year or two to see if OEL figured it out or we could have pulled our hair out of our heads watching him play for a couple more years.

    Why are people comparing him to a Joe Sakic or Mike Bossy? The kid has slightly regressed in his draft +1 season (injuries and mono would have played a part in that) and never had the credentials of a Bossy or Sakic. If the kid can put up a similar career as William Nylander we should consider that a huge win.

    I’ve always liked him too. Solid bottom 6 forward, not fast and flashy but plays an aggressive game and uses his size.

    Miller, Podkolzin, Hoglander, Beauvillier, Garland, Raty, Lekkerimaki, and McDonough. Im not arguing the value or how good Hronek is. I’m mad at the timing of this trade. This is the move a playoff team makes not a 27th ranked team.

    How about we address the D by trading some of our forwards instead of draft picks?

    You expect us to compete next year or the year after? How many teams go from a bottom 5 finish to cup contenders in a year or two? Petey and Quinn aren’t getting younger but they’re just starting to enter the prime of their careers. Make this trade when we actually have a team who won’t be competing for a lottery pick.

    Makes so much sense. Just like when we were a RHD away from winning the cup in 2016 and decided to get Gudbransson in the summer for our run in 2017.

    What has Podz done since being drafted? Wouldn’t call him a core piece. I’m not sure if you’ve been following Lekkerimami this year or not but that’s a tough take right now too.
