Agree. I still can't figure out why Tock-It is playing "The Snot" out of QH for 59 minutes a game. What is he trying to prove ? In 3 days when all is said and done we'll be lucky to have a sliver of a chance at Bedard all because of this BIG PUSH up the standings................and for what ??????????????????????????? Typical Canucks............shoot themselves in the foot every year with these late season pushes after floundering for the first 60 games!

I just checked out the odds for tonights game and every oddsmaker is predicting a solid victory by L.A. tonight. Hopefully that happens so the Canucks can stay in the game for Bedard - even though our hopes are minimal. Nothing more to prove at this point, so they should quietly sliver off onto the golf course in a few days for the next Half-Year and everyone will be happy!

Yes and BTW, you forgot to mention the high 2nd round pick we also threw into the deal! Two high picks in the top 40 players in a very deep draft year > 1 injured defenseman IMO......especially when our cupboards are empty! -
Great Post BTW and I must agree that it was time for Bo to go. I stated several times over the past year and well before Miller was re-signed, that I was pretty well expecting him to be let lose by the new Mgmt as they had changed the GM, Coaches, Asst Coaches, support staff, a number of players and more - leaving only "The Leadership" on the table to be changed in their attempt to Rid this team of it's Rot & Complacency that has permeated into this franchise for over TEN Years. So, it was pretty well expected and needed. As for Bo's comments, I think he let lose what most long-time & well travelled Canucks fans will tell you and that is that what Bo said is not far from the truth as unfortunately our stadium isn't exactly 'party central' and if you've ever been to watch games in other cities you'll know exactly what I mean. Is it the weather, the guarded mentality of people here, the lack of passion, resignation that we've had a really bad team for years? Who knows, but it is what it is and I still support the team and accept our stadium and fans as they are even if we're not the loudest most of the time because I've seen how our fan base can get hyped up during playoffs - which I'll bet will rival any building in the league.

While I firmly believe we overpaid for HornWreck by a wide margin mainly due to timing (buying at TDL - the most expensive time of the year), hopefully he gets better and firmly plugs up one of the current 5 Massive holes on our defense. If JR & Co. can somehow acquire one or two more above average defensemen then that will be a huge help as our offense has not been so much of an issue. Fingers crossed they finally fix the defensive mess this summer. -
The Islanders are actually a reasonably young team, not part of the original six, not part of the first expansion in '67, not part of the second 1970 expansion (when the canucks got in) but part of the third expansion a couple of years later. So unless you're a "Gen-X, millenial" or younger" they are considered a relatively young team to most adults.

Usually the upper bowls are a fixed percentage of the lower bowl. So if a pair of Club seats are $25,200.00 for the season, then take 5% of that and that is usually the starting point for UB4 Defensive Rows 9-15 so about $1250/Pr for Pkg's A-B-C for a quarter season. From there it's the same percentage increase per step. It's been that way for 25 years +/- a percent or two but I've heard that Aqua-Lini is going to Gouge STH's this year and use inflation as an excuse to raise prices much higher than usual in the past.

Yes, it's very, very concerning that the defense is still a mess and they better focus all their attention on fixing the back end over the summer, otherwise we'll have a repeat of this season. Hopefully that Detroit kid (HornWreck) turns into something if/when he ever gets healthy enough to play again and they purge our 3 other regular AHL Caliber defensemen because we're likely going to be stuck with OEL for a bit longer Our defense has been in shambles for 4-5 years now and all the Management keeps doing is drafting and trading for wingers, wingers and more wingers with very few exceptions. -

AMEN ! That is so "clichè " it sounds like it was taken right off the usual season ending script from our GM"s ever year where they end their excuse speech by saying "we'll get there in another 2-3 years". -
That's incredible!!! I usually was able to sell extra seats too over the last 4-5 years, as long as I sold them at 40-75% of their cost - except for rare games against the high demand teams like T.O.. Boston, et which I usually attended anyways but about every 6th to 7th game I'd end up stuck with a pair - no matter how much I lowered the price, especially mid week games against "nobody" teams and especially since the Canucks started "dumping" tickets at half price to students and last minute buyers and also giving hundreds away to charities and disadvantaged folks to keep the arena from looking too empty. My fellow STH neighbors sitting next to me on both sides also complained they were having the same problem, so you are extremely blessed with good fortune to be able to unload unwanted tickets without losing lots of money. That is for sure! It certainly is a far cry now from ten years ago when you could almost guarantee a good profit from any tickets you sold and another reason why I got rid of season tickets as it was a constant hassle worrying about selling tickets, wasting time adjusting prices and losing money endlessly. Just look at the crowd on TV at any Canucks game and you'll see hundreds of empty seats just on the one side of the lower bowl visible on your screen and then imagine what it's like on the other side in the Club section (which is always worse) and especially the upper bowl.

All the downtown streets in that area are unfortunately overrun by homeless people and beggars due to our previous mayor allowing the extremely rapid decay of the DTES area due to his inaction and refusal to enforce laws and bylaws. The results are what you see today, which is that the entire eastern portion of downtown Vancouver in a bloody MESS - to say it politely. It's pretty disgusting to see what has become to Vancouver in just the last 3-4 years and what happens when you have bleeding heart leadership with no backbone! Hopefully the new mayor continues with his plan to clean-up this city before it becomes another Portland or Seattle permanently!

Those price increases by the Oilers is something you'd see in some Oil Rich Kingdom run by Oil Barons taking advantage of the peasants............oh wait!

Agree with all and especially point 4b regarding Bear. He's had several bad games in a row and is consistently getting knocked off the puck, making very bad passes and exibiting very poor decision making. I'm still puzzled why there is talk about him getting a big raise and contract extension. He looks easily replaceable and I would rank his performance this season as a "C- " and see no justification whatsoever for any big raise and no more than a one year 2 way contract, if they still feel there's a slot for him somewhere in the organization. He is average at best and should not be considered a cornerstone in the rebuilding of our defense but a supporting cast member on the 3rd pairing (at best) or a spare 7th D. -

It was a great effort and extra satisfying putting a dent in Calgary's playoff hopes even thought it hurts our tank-plans. It will now take a miracle for them to get in the post-season. I hope they miss by this one point - they left on the table for us. That would be the cherry on the cake and payback for what they did to us a few years ago! -

Congrats on being so patient and getting all those signatures but I have to ask: Won't getting O.E.L.'s signature on there bring down the value on your autographed jersey if you ever sell it? -
Every GM we've had says the same thing........."It will take 2 or 3 years". It's like a broken record!
