So - Who Should The Canucks Take At The Number 9 Spot?
RU SERIOUS replied to Patel Bure's topic in Canucks Talk
I sure hope not, but he may desperate enough to try and get a "NOW" player in exchange for our 9th pick so he can produce some type of result next season to avoid an eighth disastrous season under his reign and try to hang on to his job because I suspect he really only has one more year in Aqua-lini's mind (despite his remaining 2 year contract) to bring some type of success to this franchise. Fingers crossed! -
Hope you plan on going to all the games because there will likely be low demand for resale tickets (especially high priced lower bowls) based on the dismal performance of the team - let alone I suspect that season ticket renewals will be bad due to the economic impact of Covid and lingering Covid fears of attending large gatherings for some time to come so there will be plenty of cheap tickets available right at the box office (possibly discounted) right up to game time - like back in the 1970's and 80's when our teams were almost as bad as this current team. My suggestion if your absolutely hell-bent on renewing is buying the cheapest upper bowl IV's, so you reduce your loses on games you can't attend. Maybe in a couple of years make a move to lower bowl when the team is likely going to be better and there is more interest in attending. Your seniority will only get better too, so you'll be in a belter position for seat selection.

My worry is that JB trades away our 9th pick for a "NOW player" - to try and save his job (as he's already in the doghouse and walking on thin ice) rather than keep the pick and select a player for the future (when he is likely not here). Hope its the later. -

I still hold out some hope for Juolevi but my expectations diminish as each season goes by without much progress. I'm still not sure if it's another case of Green hating him and refusing to play him like Jake or if he actually is another Jake? Time will tell.... -
Yea, those guys were both incredible players. the Montreal teams of the 70's into early 80's were stacked to the brim with "A" players. Absolute Dream teams.

With Logic like that, you could possibly be the next JB replacement ! -

I can't agree more. This is one of the most despicable things imaginable and a terrible stain on our country. I just hope that our present and future governments follow-thru with the recommendations made in the Truth & Reconciliation committee report and show the First Nations people some long overdue respect and give them the attention they deserve. -
Well after reading your suggestion I thought to myself.......hmmm, what could help me get over this???? So I got in the 'ol pick-up and drove down to the Main Liquor store on Cambie and found a Heavy-Duty bottle of industrial Tequila (complete with skeletons on the bottle and a draft will) and will try to flush the JB/Toffoli anger out of my system this weekend - with moderation - of course. See if that works..............

OMG, Another Uncle Jim Love-Fest topic. Do we really need another one??? Really? Why do his last remaining followers keep starting up these post every few days, with the same old BS claims that's he's boy wonder and here we are sitting out yet another playoff season. Some things never change - but will soon - once the "fed-up with JB excuses" fans are back in their seats and the FIRE BENNING chants start-up next season. Maybe Aqua-lini can ignore a banner flying in the sky but wont ignore thousands chanting FIRE BENNING during a nationally broadcast Saturday night HNIC game for millions to hear. Always amazes me how some are content with constant failure and actually support it (with endless excuses).

Sorry to intervene on the Uncle Jim "Love fest" but........somebody has to bring people back down to earth! Fact of the matter is we're out of the playoffs AGAIN and the rebuild/retool/retardation, continues........under Uncle Jim, so absolutely no one should have the nerve to say JB is doing "a swell" job. STILL NO RESULTS - NOW GOING INTO YEAR 8.............................and counting!
-
The neatest thing is that Montreal rounded out its lineup with some reasonably priced - experienced players, especially that player called "Tyler Toffoli". He not only led their team in points in the regular season with 44 points in 52 games but leads them in playoff points too at 5 in 7 games. I'm sure our brilliant GM would love to find a guy like that instead of say a marginal player like hmmm, Lazy Jake at just $1.5M less. Maybe Uncle Jim can show his apparent wisdom in the off season again and pick up a player like TT. Oh, yea he did already.........................and let him walk away (After giving up a 2nd round pick too!!!!)
-
I think you have that backwards because "my sources" heard that our overhyped, unproven / rookie AHL kid-goalie was traded for a Mason Jar full of apples to the Moscow Dynamos (KHL)? = +
-
Are you making fun of Uncle Jim the wind cock - pointing in whatever direction the wind blows today ???? GOOD ! (You'll get his homeys upset speaking so truthfully, you know....)
-
Well, now that's he's signed a 3 year'er, he'll hopefully show-up and turn into something. Unfortunately, two of the last four picks that Uncle Jim directly decided upon himself - haven't turned out so well (lazy Jake and Yo-Levi) So, hopefully this guy turns-out a bit better. He looks like a good average player with his stats and has potential to possibly eventually slot into the 3rd or 4th line-up in a few years - if everything goes perfectly.
