  1. You might have something there but who could possibly replace him? Moj or one of those other tired sounding old timer leftovers from 1040? I agree that this city needs some new sports announcers/talk show host. Speaking of which those two old "homer" play by play announcers on Sportnet - during our broadcasted TV games (Garrett & what's his face) also have to be retired. They make so many goofs during a game it's like watching a Geritol commercial. They should of been shown the door years ago - but now it's beyond ridiculous with the endless bad calls, mistakes and boring commentary. Surely someone at Sportsnet in Toronto can fix this or are they just letting us suffer on purpose.
  2. Of course - but that is not the point of my comments.
  3. Uncle Jim said absolutely nothing new and of any value in that Interview. About the only thing that's apparent (that many of you stated) is that after he signs our two wonder boys he'll have little money left over to do much of anything and will be forced to plug the holes with more internal/cheap/rookie plugs because he boxed himself in with all his bad contracts he doled out blindly over the years. Get ready for the possibility of an eighth year of failure under JB. The only thing that is a certainty about next year is that there will be no late season Banners flying high above us because the fans will be chanting FIRE BENNING - FIRE GREEN in person - if we have an encore of this year,
  4. I'd like to share your enthusiasm, but they are all unproven regular players at the NHL level - except Hogs (he's gonna be good). But fingers crossed......
  5. ................ and last time I looked, fans of a sports team can say whatever the F they want !
  6. Yea, the Canucks haven't had a lot of luck with the Russian players. Remember Artem Chubarov about 15 years ago ???
  7. I think if they can get Vladimir Krotchlickmehoff from the KHL over here too that would be great but I read his girlfriend Ivanna Bitakokov wasn't too keen on moving here because she said we have watered down Vodka over here. (Thanks god its summertime !)
  8. Actually Donnie & Dhali had a poll last week and it was 69.3% to get rid of Benning - if memory serves me - and that was based on about 1700 folks who voted which about echo's the majority here on CDC and the radio talk shows that also want him gone. So that's a pretty clear majority to get rid of Benning but like many said, who the heck is gonna waste a long weekend to protest something thats too late to change - for now. The more likely reality is that people will forget until next season BUT when we experience another disastrous finish like this year (and the last seven) and fans are back in the stands - I absolutely guarantee you that there will chants of "Fire Benning - Fire Green" shouted out Loud & Clear and BOTH WILL BE TERMINATED. (Arny told me so !)
  9. Yes, that would be nice, wouldn't it but thankfully owners & managers have a tool at their disposal to deal with things when people are not doing their job properly and producing the same bad results continuously (for seven years.....and counting.. to be exact). It is a thing Called "FIRING" ! But it takes guts to use it - something our team owners don't seem to have the stomach for.
  10. So if that is the case and Virtanen, McCann, Boeser and Juolevi were uncle Jims only relevant picks that would paint an even worse situation for him, as drafting is about All that his supporters can claim he's good at and getting one pick right out of four is nothing to boast about, especially given his abysmal trades, numerous overpayed/overextended player contacts, allowing expiring players to leave for nothing rather than trade them beforehand for something and poor management. All this backs up what the 70% of Canucks fans and media are saying that we need to get him out of here (per poll on CHEK last week and most CDC commentators) to avoid an eighth and ninth year of continued bottom feeder results and suffering by our fans! Which leaves everyone puzzled why Aqua-Lini would allow him to stick around and makes you wonder if the rumors are true it's all about $ and FA not having to pay him out for his last 2 years on contract? There could be no other logical explanation for his return.
  11. ..............Uncle Jim asleep at the wheel again - only could focus on one thing - signing his boy Lazy Jake, who he didn't want to admit defeat on. Good post BTW !!!!
  12. ...........well, I'd suggest contacting HNIC (French Language in Montreal and voicing your concerns...........(where that statistic came from) Hope this assist you.
  13. There you go again trying to dispute thiose facts with excuses You're doing it again, trying to bury and/or explain away facts. Unfortunately, the stats in that attachment above ARE REAL ! That is what I stated earlier, that some are too eager to find excuses for JB (and now 6 players) bad performance, is indicative of being in a state of denial. On the brighter side, I don't disagree that Jim has made " a few" very good draft pick-ups, but there have been a couple of bad ones (you know who), many bad trades, overextended/overpriced signings, letting virtually all our expiring contract players walk out the front door rather than trade them for something/anything beforehand and most recently letting Tryamkin walk away instead of trading his signing rights to Arizona who was interested in him for something/anything. The list is continuous and factual. So those few good signing are more than wiped out by everything else, let alone we have at least another year or two to purge the bad contracts (JB signed) before he can even think of starting to bolster the roster and from what I've seen from him so far in 7 years makes me worried.
  14. It should NOT be "put to bed" That is the problem, that many are simply too lazy and sheepish and avoid the pain of facing up to reality that Uncle Jim has FAILED this franchise and MUST be removed ASAP. After 7 years of Failure and screw ups like this - Lazy Jake before TT situation - he should of been made to pay the piper and booted out for this and all of the other terrible trades, signings and team mis-management that we have endured for almost a decade. At some point the suffering must end!
  15. Do you really have to remind us all of one of the biggest "Brain Farts" in Canucks History ?????? (For that alone, Uncle Jim should have been sent packing)
  16. After 7 years of the same results, I know how this will all end up next year for Uncle Jim...............
  17. Uncle Jim couldn't even Multi Task last year to sign TT because he was completely immersed in signing his boy - Lazy jake. So how do you expect him to be able to handle complexities like that?
  18. Agree on Hughes - not on Petey! While Hughes is "fun" to watch, he is undoubtedly THE WORST +/- DEFENSEMAN ON THE TEAM AND 3rd WORST IN THE ENTIRE NHL AT MINUS -24. If it wasn't for his positive points (41 points minus his very embarrassing -24 screw-ups) he would have been long gone by now, but a NET +17 points keeps him in the game for sure. He is constantly out of position, gets beat to the puck regularly and is too small to out-muscle many bigger players - let alone he constantly gets caught way down the ice on his "offensive escapades" (which in fairness does get him some of his points- but often cost him), Hopefully once we get a new defensive coach, he can start to learn "how to be a proper defenceman" and hopefully become a legit "reliable" defenseman one day. Won't that be something! In the meantime, he is not worth the same $ as EP40 and should be paid somewhat less but retained because there is hope for him and I believe he will get his $h1t together in the next few years with further training and mentorship. As for EP40, he has alot of potential with great skills but his effectiveness dropped off quite a bit this season and he is a bag of bones and I'm honestly worried about his body standing up in the long run. He is very slight, low weight - small framed kid and with a few good/hard hits in a rough playoff series, he'd easily be taken out of commission. We've already seen him picked up in the air over some guys head and slammed to the ice like a bag of cubed ice-cubes being broken apart. As well, he's already been out more than half this season with what could possibly become a chronic injury and has already had a couple of other less severe injuries in the past and he's only in his E.L. contract. So, I'd pay him fair market value but on a shorter 3-4 year term because I'm very concerned about his physical well being in the long-term and his ability to maintain the output he had in his earlier time.

  20. Well said. I agree! The Canucks Bandwagon is as strong as ever...............
  21. JB's retool - motivational Video after this season................
  22. Why don't you drink ???? What kind of Canucks fan are you? How do you think Aqua-Lini pays the light bill at Rogers.........It's the $8.50 sippy cups of Shlitz - bottom of the barrel warm, draft beer served in slow motion. Real fans - know that! Next time you're at Rogers stop by in the washroom and we'll tell you all about it as its on the way out.........
  23. AMEN ! We all want the best for this team and city. That we share in common and no one should ever lose sight of that no matter what our differences are !
