  1. No need to sugar coat things! (With all due respect) It was not a low risk trade. It was a another poorly thought-out knee-jerk, shoot from the hip, impulsive, trigger-happy decisions by our inexperienced, rookie G.M. (P.A.) made under extreme pressure from Aqua-lini to retool quickly rather than do things right and Re-Build and perform "Major Surgery" (as JR finally broke down and had to admit "needed to be done") so they could try and maintain some semblance of false hope for the remaining fans, who are abandoning this team by the thousands in their endless decades long journey of futility and try to keep them in the seats in an attempt to keep revenues afloat. Trying to rebuild a team by patching it up with proven left-over 1st Round failures that other teams have completely given-up on and are frothing at the mouth to get rid of - is no plan for long term success in anyone's books. Those two assets we threw away for that kid could have been used in a more constructive worthwhile way. Whichever scout on the canucks payroll that made the recommendation to trade for him - should be fired as he FAILED in his recommendation. These BAD scouting reports have plagued this franchise for years and resulted in so many bad trades and draft picks that I've run out of fingers and toes (a long time ago) to count them all on ! Lets call a spade - a spade !
  2. You might be right about that but Rogers is looking old and shabby and is quickly becoming an outdated building from the last century. Aqua-Lini will soon have to open up his pocket-book to either fix it up or start planning for a new building.
  3. So, can we now "officially" flush this trade into the growing heap of bad decisions by our inexperienced rookie G.M. P.A.? Too bad we threw away another draft pick - and a prospect - in the garbage can for that kid no matter how low value they were. I guess these sort of impulsive trigger-happy decisions happen when you're under extreme pressure from ownership to retool quickly rather than do it right and Re-Build.
  4. $5 Bucks says P.A. picks another small, fragile, local finesse Home-Boy player from "The Mother-Land".
  5. You know, we're going to miss Myers when he's gone in a few weeks. Next to OEL, he's probably the worst defenceman we've got to take pock-shots at and the funniest guy to watch.
  6. I always maintained there is hope for everyone - and you just proved my theory! Glad you finally came around and "saw the light". Now, do you think there is a team out there that we can trade him to on July 1st and get our 1st and 2nd back for him?
  7. You're not missing out on much. A few years back they used to hold late summer BBQ's and town halls inside GM Place for STH's and had a hundred racks of clothing and "stuff" for sale on the floor and most of it was odd sized, left-over, out of style, ugly garments that were useful as car-washing rags or painting gear, that they couldn't sell to "Normal" fans. All the good - fashionable stuff was tucked away for the next season.
  8. I'm glad to see someone chime-in with a bit of common sense and not "Claim" HornWreck is the next coming of Christ after watching him play for a whole 20 minutes. Even though we all have to hope for him to be a star - now that we're stuck with him for at least 1 year until his contract is up - the timing of this trade and especially the extremely sky-high statospheric cost are questionable at best, and have "the scent of Aqua-lini desperation to keep fans in the seats NOW" - written all over this trade! As many "Normal" fans have said, this type of trade is something you'd normally expect to see from a team in contention, not one that is dreaming of such. I hope this means that JR & Co. know something we don't!
  9. AMEN - Brother ! (P.S.: Short term Think = Short term Results!)
  10. Agree completely. This latest crop of Canucks team management is on the same track as the last bunch of clowns with orders from Aqua-Lini to try an ice some sort of half descent team NOW so they stop bleeding away fans and $. This short term thinking has failed us for over a decade and will ensure continuation of our reputation of a basement/bubble team as we scratch & claw to try and squeek into one of the last wildcard spots into the playoffs. Even JR finally broke down and had to admit early last season that this team was in dire need of "Major Surgery". Yet he coward down to Aqua-lIni's obvious marching orders that "THERE WILL BE NO REBUILD" and now is trying the 'ol patchwork routine of putting fingers in the dike. As you've likely seen in this years playoffs - as in past years - the playoffs are nowhere for small, timid, soft euro-centic Finesse players to thrive and as always will come down to the skilled teams with the size, grit and fire in their belly. Little of which I see in any of our regular season players. Throwing away two extremely high draft picks in a generational draft year for a damaged/unserviceable player that will ultimately change little in the teams fortunes is unwarranted now - at the least untimely.
  11. I wonder if the same person that was respoinsible for the BB6 resigning will have the courage to admit failure?
  12. Well said. You'd figure that JR & Co. would have studied the JB decade of devastation and learned their lesson by now but they are making many of the same mistakes made by the last regime including re-signing BB6 and JTM when they were worth more gone than here and then threw away two high draft picks on a Dman when we have an almost empty cupboard on the farm after JB threw draft picks and prospects away like candy and could have used those 2 picks to replenish are severly depleted asset pool - especially since we are years away from competing - if ever - with this stale core that has FAILED us for years. So, best to avaoid any futher damage and bite the bullet and if it was ujp to me and 88% of the thousands of Canuck Fans who actually voted - I'd tear this team almost down to the core and get on with what we all know really know needs to be done - for the good of the franchise in the long term. Stop P1$$ing around !
  13. I'll park your JTM prediction in my folder and we'll chat in 3 years! P.S.; I hope you're right.....BTW !
  14. We should have torn this team down like 88% of fans supported and numerous past GM's and others pleaded with Aqua-lini to do. The new mgmt is going down the same worm hole as the last mgt group hoping for different results! I wish them all the success in the world but have serious doubts we'll see anything different from this same old core that has failed us for years. At some point you just have to admit things ain't working out and take a deep breath and do what needs to be done. We missed the boat resigning BB6, JTM, not trading them and throwing away very high draft picks on one Dman in a generational draft year and when the vast majority of "Normal" Canuck fans were clearly in support of a rebuild! I think they call that "Missed opportunity" or something like that........
  15. Don't hold your breath. The Canucks are already $1.5M over cap because of the insane trade for that unserviceable Dman (HornWreck) - where they threw away an extremely valuable high 1st Rd. and 2nd round draft picks on a player that has only one year left on contract and then will cost even more. Plus with Bear due a raise and a few others needed to be signed, they are in serious cap trouble. Which means they will be desperate to trade at least one of the 3 most likely players of any value (Garland, BB6 and/or JTM) and JTM is the only one of the three they'll be able to get rid of without throwing away another sweetener in the deal (a draft pick or prospect), so he is the lowest - low hanging fruit on the tree right now and given we are still years away from being contender and his 20% decline in production already over last year - as he is now "over the hill", and also that they'll be stuck with him until the next decade when he's pushing 40 - unless they trade him right now, I'd say he is walking target #1 on this roster!
  16. .................if he's still on the team !
  17. Wonder what temper trantrum he'll throw when he misses that putt!
  18. .........I always suspected Miller had alternative motives for making a quick early exit after the regular season. Now the truth is finally out and we can see where his true passion lies. Just another reason to trade him before we’re stuck with him until the sometime in the next decade of the 2030’s when he’s pushing 40. Still time & Still hope he’s gone before his NTC kicks in – in several weeks.
  19. ...............Are you sure about that ?
  20. After tonight Schenn might want to bolt out of T.O. and come home. It wouldn't surprise me because it's pretty obvious that Toronto needs to Dis-assemble their team because they have no hope going into the future and Schenn likely doesn't want to stick around for that.
