  1. Out of the 3 Amigo's most likely to go (Garland, JTM and himself), BB6 is very likely at the top of the list, as he offers the most value and fewest risk with his age, points production and shorter 2 yr contract length remaining with a relatively acceptable cost for some teams - going for him, while Garland, with lower production - still has three more years left. And, of course there's JTM with a whopping $8M contract that only begins next year and runs all the way until sometime early in the next decade of the 2030's that many teams can't afford and/or won't want to touch due to it's extreme length combined with his old age, along with concerns about his significant drop-off in point production already this season - which plumetted by 20% - as he hurdled over and past the top of 30 y.o. hill mark. So given what PA said in the presser that "they are going to be reluctant buying players out" (which is somewhat of another reversal from what JR said not too long ago), when he said they'd use "any & every means to fix this roster", I'd say that given the fact they are in serious Cap trouble already (not to mention what lies ahead) that they will have no choice but to unload one or two of the 3 Amigo's in the off season, unless they throw away more draft picks & prospects trying to package up & unload any of those many terrible "deadwood contracts" off the roster. We'll know in a few months......
  2. That depends on whether we trade Miller exclusively for draft picks and or other players, but we're certainly not going far next year anyways. As for Myers, hopefully they can entice one of the low cap bottom-feeder team to take him. He will only cost $1M and have a cap of $6M which many basement teams can take on, so he might be of value to someone. Otherwise bury him in Abby - that's the 2nd best option. Until we replace 3-4 defensemen, we have no chance of going anywhere soon as that is our main Achilles heel along with a suitable B/U Goalie which Silvos appears to possibly be able to fill.
  3. One good Miller trade solves alot of our problems! Pittsburg had apparently offered us TWO 1st Round pick plus, plus, plus and reportedlly more for him at TDL and that was when he was slumping. Report: Canucks, Penguins discussed deal for J.T. Miller involving two first-round picks (canucksarmy.com) Some teams may possibly even cough up more with the way he finished off the season on the uptick. He would free up the most money and provide the greatest return of anyone (minus our untouchable top 3). So if I was GM, I'd pray anther offer like Pittsburg's comes along like that and try to package him up with one of our many "deadwood" players and make the deal. The alternative is to give away BB6 or Garland with little in return - except free up less cap space. Aside from those three, no one else offers the potential cap space WE MUST GET to keep our head above water because OEL isn't going anywhere and Myers may end up stuck on here for his last year too. So it's quite simple - There are few other options!
  4. Aside from Tanev going to Calgary, is the even worse part, that we got nothing of value in return - ditto for Marky. What an incompetent idiot that JB was. It all leads back to Aqua-lini and being asleep at the wheel!
  5. I'd love nothing more, but he's a Leaky Condo builder and you have to understand the mentality and thinking process these construction types live by and if he wasn't willing to allow a rebuild and a likely ensuing decline in paid attendance for a couple-few of years, he's certainly not going to write a $20,000,000.00 Million U$D cheque to OEL which ended up on this team as a direct result of AQUA-LINI allowing JB to stay 3 seasons too long! It would admit his own mistake - that of an incompetant owner!
  6. That's a good point and while everyone's been focussed on finding RHD's to anchor the other lines, QH deserves a better partner for the long term. I think when one or more of the three most tradeable players are gone (BB6, Garland &/or JTM) that might free up or return enough to set QH up with a proper partner. Until they start unloading our surplus supply of high cost forwards, we'll have to wait for them to fix the back end properly because we just have too much money tied up front.
  7. Time will tell. But JTM always seems to be spoken about likes he's on the outside of the "Untouchable bubble". I think if he survives past the beginning of his NTC, he'll be spoken of differently but for now he's certainly not part of the 3 Amigos - yet ! It will be an interesting next half year until we start the next season.
  8. I had the exact same thought! It's food for thought.............
  9. One thing that came through "Loud & Clear" was the fact PA said he is still open to listening to trade offers for JTM. That was clearly asked and answered today without any shadow of a doubt and IMO is a Flare shot high in the sky to other GM's to come 'on in and make offers for JTM - just in case there's one last "Golden offer" out there that makes it impossible to resist and leaves no doubt they've had second thoughts about their resigning of him until the next decade - especially after this season's surprisingly quick 20% drop off in points - so immediate after his peak contract year performance, otherwise PA would have shut that question down flatly and put him in the same "Untouchable" category as QH, EP40 & Demko. I, like many others certainly won't be surprised when/if he's traded as I suspect JR & PA now know what they've got themselves into after having more than a couple of months to see what they've really got in JTM - unlike last year where they only saw him play for a very short period and were forced into making a quick decision to either resign him or lose him for nothing. At least PA said he played well for 30% of the season in the press conference, so he obviously see's some up-side to him, so it will be interesting to see if JTM survives until his NTC kicks in and saves him from the chopping block.
  10. Something tells me BB6 won't be around by then.......but it's a soothing thought!
  11. LOL ! We all wish! The chances of Aqua-lini signing a 20 Million Dollar cheque are about the same chances this franchise will win the cup next year! But, it's pleasent fantasizing about it..........I must admit......
  12. If you think we have $ problems next year - LOOK OUT - because the following year in '24 we have EP40, HornWreck, a slew of rookie contract to contend with and likely a more qualified B/U Goalie to deal with. Not to mention Beauvillier - who i doubt they can afford or even keep. Their only hope is that there is a big raise in the cap or they will have to start jettisoning high $ players and let loose on some of the young prospects we have. That's why it's very likely one of our high $ players will need to be let go this off season and possibly another again next year because they have already committed so heavily and of course are unfortunately hog-tied by the previous regimes bad contracts. Challenging time ahead for them...
  13. It won't be and shouldn't be EP40 as he clearly is ineffective in front of the camera and is not a strong communicator. Leave him alone. He'll be just fine being where he's at !
  14. Don't worry about losing our primary "Tank Commander" because we have plenty of other's that can slot in as chief Whipping Boy, as this team has no shortage of underperforming players as evident by our 7th Post Season miss - in 8 Years !!!
  15. He'll be a "sweet" P/U for one of the bottom feeder / Low budget teams this summer with his $1 salary and Massive $6M cap hit. We are already stuck with OEL and can't retain two Big Boat-Anchors on the back-end if we have any hope of fixing our defense and getting out of the bottom of the league in the next few years. O.E.L. can cause enough damage on his own, so we don't need Myers to make things worse - and OEL isn't going anywhere because I can't see FA writing a $20,000,000.00 Million Dollar cheque to dispose of him and "Hog Tying" our Cap for another almost Decade. I think Aqua-Lini learned his lesson during the height of his meddling days with Luongo during the "Spaghetti Era" of this team.
  16. Your pretty darn close. The only minor differences i believe will realistically end up happening is that Myers will also be gone along with BB6. Other very slight opossibilities include Bear & Burroughs being replaced (or sent down - if possible) and last but not least - I still strongly believe that JR will listenen hard & intently to any offers for JTM and if the offer is golden - he'll go for it. Don't be shocked if it happems because I think it has now sunk in with them after their "knee-jerk" reaction extending him last year when they we're so new with the team and were rushed into a decision, that if they don't unload JTM now before his NTC kicks-in, we might get a couple or so more good years out of him but thereafter we'll be stuck with him until the next decade (in the 2030's) when he'll be well past his "Expiry Date" and likely become the next L.E. or O.E.L. Albatross contract. His production already dropped off over 20% this year as he went over the 30 y.o.hill this year and his new contract hasn't even kicked in! Think about that.
  17. Yes indeed. Time will tell and like I stated, I'm certainly going to give them slack to untangle the Jim Benning mess but so far the only TRUE home run I've seen in the 1-1/2 seasons they've steered the ship, is the Kuzmenko pick-up. I have no comment on Hornrek's abilities at this point, as we only saw him play for a few periods and nothing stood out for me - other than he looked like a "Normal" defenseman. Hopefully he turns into a great players for us and becomes worth at least one of those two very high draft picks we gave away for him and doesn't turn into another Still-Man type fiasco. And, you might be right about JR NOT performing the major Surgery he finally admitted we needed because of the fear of losing QH and/or EP40. That is a very distinct possibility but I still think it was Aqua-Lini who put "The Skids" to that idea because he fears a rebuild will decrease revenue - even if its the right thing to do and what several past G.M.'s and presidents have been telling him for over a decade.
  18. That's the funniest line I've heard all season. It came out of nowhere at the end and I love it! Timing was perfect - almost Monty Python perfect!!! You have me in stiches!!! I belly laughed so much reading that statement, that I almost spit my McDonald's dinner up. LOL!!! Seriously! I love your "dry" sense of humor - keep it coming !!!! Cheers!
  19. Well Said! Maybe you should share those words of wisdom with our new-ish Rookie Canucks management team as they don't seem to appreciate that. You know, the ones who just used up two very valuable 1st & 2nd Round Draft picks in a deep, once in a generation draft year, for that injured/unserviceable Detroit player and used up our 1st pick last year on that tiny Swedish kid (Jonathan leckheratme) from P.A.'s favorite place, who had two concussions, Mono, a broken foot and a god awful season (+ I heard he even broke up with his GF !!!) .... and I won't even get into the other fiasco trades (Still-Man & KrapStov) and the draft picks we wasted on them. BUT in all fairness - Kuzmenko looks like a home run - the only one so far! Hopefully one of those recent long-shot - undrafted High-School/college kid freebee pick-ups turns into a regular 3rd or 4th line or B/U player for us one day - maybe even that Hirose kid. No matter, I'm still willing to wait until next year though to draw any final conclusions on JR, Alvin & "The Chipmunk Girls". Especially given the way Benning left the state of the franchise in with a holy mess to clean up. Hopefully they can make up for all the above plus the questionable re-signings they've made to date.
  20. Are you talking about the same "deaf " owner that resigned JB & TG into their last contract after years of failure and Fans screaming to get them out of here? Oh, that Owner!
  21. I think the secret is to have one hand sitting in a pool of Holy water - while you click really hard with the other. That will get you up the ladder.... BTW, if you don't have "Holy" water on hand, just take some regular tap water & "Boil the HELL out of it" !
  22. I've got my fingers crossed and am holding my breath that the retool works out too. Since JR abandoned (or was forced to) put the "Major Surgery" aside, it has left us with the sole hope that he can re-jig this roster enough with a few more peripheral trades/drafts to get us over the finish line. I sure hope this all works out!
