  1. .......................................and counting.......................
  2. I won't disagree with you at this point and am personally willing to give JR more time to untangle the mess JB left in his lap - so I am not writing him off. My suggestion for @King Heffy to follow-up with his concerns with our managements professionalism by running a POLL, was that it would be an ideal time to gauge Canuck fans thoughts on the management group and how they've done to date - now that the season is over. It would be very interesting to see where other fans stand at this time!
  3. I predict 3) because that's all our mgmt ever seem to get.
  4. I think you're on to something. Maybe you should start a new thread - Titled: Is Jim Rutherford & his Canucks Rookie Mgmt sub-team professional enough and know what they're doing? Hmmmmm, Give that some thought.........it would be interesting to see what folks think about them after this first full season at the helm.
  5. You made good returns on those and yes (I just checked my old statements) and my 2011 1st Rd. regular STH seats, located in sec 302 were $70 that first round in a half season pkg. That was in the good 'ol days when you were guaranteed to make a profit on every ticket sold - as every game was sold out. I remember those days. But since around 4-5 years ago I stopped making profits on tickets as season ticket holders and fans dried up considerably as fans got fed up with the perpetual losing, to the point we're at today where it makes little sense to be a STH as it's almost 100% certain you can find tickets on the open market - right up to game time below cost except for rare Marquee games - let alone the Canucks themselves started "Dumping" hundreds - sometime thousands of 1/2 price seats to students and giving many away to charities at the last minute in an attempt to fill empty seats and avoid Rogers looking like an empty crypt. I have friends who are STH's that have lost a fair amount of money in the last few years unable to sell games for any amount of money let alone all the time, anxiety and effort trying to sell them. Same happened to me, my last season as a STH where I swallowed a number of games at substantial losses as no one wanted to pay for a Tuesday weekday night game in the middle of January against Arizona - if you know what i mean! Knowing the way things are with inflation and how Greedy Aqua-lini has become, I guess there's no limit to how much the Canucks are willing to gouge their fans. Bringing the wife and kids to see a game nowadays almost needs a bank loan, as that could run you anywhere from $400.00 to $1500.00 before beer & popcorn money. It's outrages to see that everyday normal Canucks fans can't afford to see their own team ! It's almost a crime!
  6. Wow ! you hit the Jackpot. As I said, I paid $700 for a pair just around the corner from your seats in 305 and I ended up sitting amongst a few rows of Solid Boston Bruin Parents & friends - most wearing bruins jerseys. There were a few scuffles in our area and lots of cat calls - needless to say - as canucks fans got more & more P'd off as the game went on but for the most part the seats we're O.K. and the experince still something i'll remember. I just found my old ticket (below), look at the face value for a game 7 SCF !!! Isn't that crazy cheap! Your seats musn't have had a much higher face value either than 305 because if i remember from back in the day your section 330 was the Molson or Bud zone and was always pretty reasonable cost.
  7. I hope so, because the way things are going with this team, it seems like I'll be long dead (like many of us) before this team ever makes "a push" again - let alone win a cup the way things have been going for the last twelve years and especially the last few.
  8. That's a great deal at $7M/Yr if he's as good as some say he is. Hope it turns out well next year for him.
  9. LOL! Kraken fans pay $9.00 U$D for a bottle of water !!! That's $12.00 Cdn !!!! Holy Batman! Those people have money to burn! None-the less, don't get misled by other teams fortunes because I lived the dream for over 20 years as a Canucks STH and have first hand - real experience! Trust me on this!
  10. Assuming we "got a steal" in him and he plays to expectations - which we all want him to do, what do you think his new contract will cost us after his one remaining "cheap/bargain" year is up next April? Also considering EP40 is going to be kept and due a well deserved mammoth increase when his contract is also up next year, who do you believe we'll have to let go to keep our top players - keeping in mind we're already in Cap trouble?
  11. My apologies when I incorrectly stated that 80% of Canucks fans supported a FULL REBUILD. I misled you! It was actually 88.12% here on CDC and only 77.3% of thousands of Loyal Canucks fans that want a FULL REBUILD per the poll on Donnie & Dhali. (See attached "Substance") I also haven't labelled Filip a bust, I just believe like 75% of several thousand loyal Canuck Fans who voted (below), that we got the short end of the stick and overpaid on that deal and should have preserved our 2 high - badly needed picks. Now that we're stuck with him, I wish nothing more (like all of us) that he can recover from his serious injuries and play for us one day. I'll cheer for him!
  12. Those three are worth building around (if they are willing to stay), but they are just 3 players on a team of 23 players that cannot even get out of the basement. I would certainly try to keep those three but bold decisive actions are needed for this franchise to break "The cycle" we've been stuck in for so long. Aren't you fed up with the recent 12 years of disappointment since 2011 and realistically 52 years of total failure - let alone another season ending in early April like every year?
  13. JTM is not a bust at present. Its the contract term. To put my (and many others) concern into perspective, just take a look at JONATHAN TOEWS. One of the most Elite players we've seen in the past decade, with Stanley cup pedigree who is now 34 Y.O. and guess what, the Blackhawks don't want him back - at 34! Now just Imagine Miller, who with all due respect - is likely not in the same league as Toews - will look like in the final few years of contract when he'll be almost 38? The issue is not Miller - today. We all know he's a good player today - that is not the issue !!! It's the contract term and Miller - tomorrow. Haven't we seen enough of these overly lengthy contracts on our team alone with L.E., Luongo, and most recently O.E.L., to see the effects these contract have on a franchise? The other issue aside from the term is that Miller is peaking now - when our team is not even close to making a playoff berth for god's sake. He is (or perhaps was) at prime value this last year and would have been a perfect candidate to cash-in on for desperately needed high draft picks + maybe players in return. So, while we both agree that JTM is playing good now - where I see our disagreement on him is whether his new contract will benefit the Canucks in the long term. That is simply a matter of opinion and time will tell how that turns out. In the meantime, I hold fast on my thoughts that if a spectacular offer comes along for him it should be considered and even JR & PA have gone on the record saying they "will consider such", as long as it benefits the team and moves us closer to a Stanley cup - which is "The Goal"
  14. Miller is a good player even though his output has already dropped off by 20% this season - even before his next contract starts and likely will be good for another 2 - maybe 3 years, but we will live to regret the last half of his contract. As for HornWreck, hopefully he gets over his serious injuries and play's for us again one day, but even though we likely overpaid for him at TDL and might possibly gotten him for cheaper this summer when there are going to be many more RHD's available, the real issue is that we gave up 2 very valuable 1st AND 2nd round draft picks in a once in a generation deep draft year that could have helped more so a bit further down the road, which IMO is the way that myself and 80% of Canucks fans (that clearly voted for a REBUILD) think, as we are nowhere close to contending and might as well fix things for the long-term than continuing this never ending cycle of patch-work retooling that's been going on for the better part of the last DECADE! But since we're now stuck with HornWreck - I too am hoping that he can turn into something useful for us - so on that, we agree!
  15. Canucks Gift Cards. LMAO !!!! The funniest Marketing Gimmick going - where they overcharge you for something then give you - your very own money back stuck on a gift card where you are forced to buy overpriced merchandise and food from only them - and ripped-off a second time while they make even more profit! Hahahaha! Who comes up with this stuff? Genius!
  16. JR also made a fatal mistake resigning BB6 and Miller to an extra long contract last year as well as using up 2 early round picks for HornWreck and not accepting Pittsburg's "apparent" offer of two 1st round picks and much more for Miller at this years TDL - which could have allowed him to save face and get out of that deal while he still could. Hopefully JR can unload the three obvious most tradeable players this off season (BB6, Garland & Miller) and find a home for Myers and then perhaps he might have a chance to perform a bit of that "Major Surgery" he spoke so highly about - that we desperately needed - and have yet to see! Fingers crossed!
  17. With all due respect - That's wishfull thinking. You obviously have not lived thru playoffs as a Vancouver STH because you'd know better than to make that statement which is very misleading As a recent 20+ year STH with seats up in level 300, the reality I experienced is that tickets in the first round had extremely low demand and are hard to sell. Even the Canucks themselves will "dump" thousands of tickets as many STH will not accept playoff tickets in March as an option to their package when asked - leaving the Canucks "Flush" with seats to sell on TM, especially corporate STH's who will not pay sky high prices for tickets they usually just end up giving out as a marketing promo and have set budgets for marketting. I speak from experience and while Aqua-lini jacks up the prices to you and I - you will never get anywhere near that on the resale market in Round 1 as most fans don't want to waste money until they see that the team can make it out of Rd. 1 and are for Real. Unless things have changed, that is the reality I experienced for over 2 DECADES and any REAL STH will confirm that. Of course things might change if we one day ever make the playoffs again - especially after not having a home playoff game at Rogers in over 8 years - but we'll have to wait & see about that. BTW, $700/Pair is what I paid for row 13 in section 305 in 2011 during game 7 of the SC finals (sitting amongst the Boston Bruins parents in those last 3 rows!) not in Round 1 !
  18. It certainly didn't help but it's just another in the long list of excuses we heard alllllll season long. No matter, we'll wait & see next year when he's hopefully back in for the full year and then draw a conclusion on that matter.
  19. Hard to believe we actually got much worse results over last year where we finished in 18th in 2022 with a 40-30-12 = 92 Point record. Something is wrong with this picture! We just keep getting worse & worse despite all the false hope and propaganda the Canucks keep spewing. Sure hope JR cleans house this summer - as best he can! We need dramatic changes if we are to ever get out of this decade long slump. Lets stop pretending we have any chance of even making it out of the basement if they keep this same group for yet another failed season! Let's go JR - keep your word - MAJOR SURGERY !!!!! Remember what you promised - now execute!
