I'm considering factors like him having an immediate impact and his age. For him to come in and make plays like that at this stage in the season. Its exciting to me and yes if any young player who was written off then comes in and makes plays like this, in his first games with a new team, it's really good in my opinion. Patience. Most importantly finish. To be fair I can see how someone at a glance may think the plays weren't that great. But take a closer look and see a combination of things he did well. For me he waited for the right moment to shoot and caught the goalie off guard all while being pressured closely. Many players don't even get the shot off there or shoot too early.

Those plays were better than they looked. First goal was due to patience to get as close as possible even with pressure on him. Good puck control. Then the second goal he cuts in with speed and contacts the defender then finishes. Now I'm excited about this guy.

Hope you're right. Calgary is one of my most disliked teams lol. Would be pure comedy reading flame fans comments if SB lights it up. Specifically against them. At first glance the trade seems bad for Calgary. Second glance a little more reasonable. Third glance you have to wonder why Calgary would take such a risk making this kind of deal with Vancouver of all places. Big mistake to take a risk like this with a rival. In the end it's a win/win situation for us.

If IGINLA wants to be here long term and work with our young players. Then by all means sign him. But I don't want the team to go out of the way to get him. Or have to move key pieces of our future either. Anyone I would be shocked if he actually ends up here I really doubt that will happen.

If that's the only reason then answer is still is no from me. There are already vets still on the team that can help with that. And if you're saying the Sedins can't then I'm not sure anyone else can.

Sorry but Ehrhoff and IGINLA is not going to win us a championship. Both are overrated IMO I would rather not have them and draft higher instead of any more first found knock outs. Let me be clear and say I don't want to tank. But I do only want players that have a Long term future here. No mercs or patches. That's what ehrhoff and IGINLA are.

I don't like the idea of following a particular teams 'model'. If it were that simple every team would be winning. You get the BPA and build around them it's a crap shoot. The likelyhood of duplicating Boston's success by taking in 'big two-way' players seems very unlikely to me. I prefer we keep it simple, take the BPA and fill the needs around that. Centres should be 'big two-way' players. Defence should be big strong skaters. You need some speedy skilled guys on the wings still. Oh and a goalie.... We still have one of those dont we?

Finally something to be excited about. TL is going to be really good. Great heart, hockey sense and well respected. I was sooooo pissed when they traded him. Another jersey should have never touched him. A '94 hero and man did he elevate his game for that. Sedins better start taking notes maybe have a few sit downs with TL.

Let's just say FA is the exact kind of owner to meddle. It's not a coincidence we have had so many Italians on the team in recent years. Unless he backs off soon it's going to be a long painful ride. I believe gillis was brought in for the very reason that FA knew he could 'work with him'.

Personally I feel as though the owner has had his hand in the cookie jar. It's the only reasonable explanation for all the stupid moves made since the team was actually good.
