  1. Oh god that would be a dream. Ekblad would be the future of our defense. Cornerstone captain material. On the other hand, if Kesler wants to stay, Reinhart or Bennett might look great on his wing as early as next season. Edler Ekblad Or Burrows Kesler Bennett Reinhart Kesler Kassian Sedin Sedin Bennett has a nice ring to it too
  2. Winnipeg and Ottawa win. If we lose tonight we're drafting 6th, baby! Haha 7-6 kings Jensen 3 Kassian Corrado Daniel Entertaining bittersweet loss lol
  3. Ottawa up 2-0 on the rangers after the first period. Winnipeg Toronto tied at 2 after the first. Winnipeg and Ottawa win and Vancouver loss tonight puts us drafting 6th
  4. Or we land Ritchie this year Shinkaruk Mcdavid Kassian Ritchie Horvat Jensen Sestito Gaunce Cassels Perfect blend of size and skill with an a**kicker on each line haha
  5. Although I'd rather make the playoffs next year, one can't help but think future possibilities if we actually can't turn it around next year. Sedin Sedin Eichel Hanifin Tanev Horvat Kesler Eichel haha Even if it's only for one or 2 seasons Sedin Sedin Mcdavid haha
  6. I'd be very happy with Fluery. It gives us the freedom to explore the small skilled righty market. Finding a good offensive right handed dman is hard enough. Adding a guy like Fluery let's you be more flexible with the size you add on the right. It could mean a guy like J Subban has a great chance to succeed being backed up by a premier physical great skating defensive guy on his left. Fluery Subban Developing chemistry in Utica together could have an unreal payoff 4 or 5 years down the road when they hit their nhl break outs.
  7. I'll also add elite prospects has Nylander at 5'11 170. That's not terrible. Topping out at 185-190 isn't out of the question. He looks like a little baby faced wiener now so I'd imagine he's got a lot of body maturing to go still haha Imagine the player he could be if elite prospects is close to what he really is now? If grows an inch and puts on 15 pounds he'd be 6ft 185lbs by the time he's 21-22. A real Henrik Sedin replacement for down the road. Shinkaruk Nylander Kassian Gaunce Horvat Jensen
  8. I'm more just intrigued in the way scouts talk about Nylander. It's not your average great skater, great shot, high IQ kinda analysis. They take it a step further and say things like "an artist with the puck" or "as a scout you want to pay for the ticket just to see him play".. He's ranked 5th on iss right now... I can't help but think he's the real deal and not your average small guy with good speed/great shot. I just got a feeling he's going to be the guy everyone's kicking themselves for passing over.
  9. Yeah, I'd definitely be putting the call in to Mac T to see what it would take. If they really want Fluery in the event they can't get ekblad. Depending on where we land, there's definitely a deal to be made there as it's unlikely he'll go top 5. They get the man they want, we get a play maker to step in right away with Kesler. Reinhart is a Vancouver boy too, It would be a dream scenario. It might take more to get him but no harm in kicking the tires and weighing the possible future scenario of going forward with a true blue chip prospect. It might outweigh having corrado or Hansen or whoever Edmonton wants in the deal.
  10. Seen that too, I guess u never know really. Jones went 4th last year. I thought that was pretty nuts. Imagine what Nash was thinking when he wasn't taken 3rd haha.. "...Uhhh Really, we get jones haha"
  11. Didn't wanna make a thread but how many of you bought the ohl playoff package online? How's the quality?
  12. That's what I was thinking. Fluery is exactly what they need. If that's case and we are in 6th I would love to make a trade for that pick. Stanton 1st 2nd for their first. Maybe not enough but if they wanna take Fluery anyways and we have the draft pick to do it, why not? They get Fluery, we get Reinhart. Kes wants to retire a canuck? let's give him a few apprentices haha Horvat Kesler Reinhart Sedin Sedin Jensen Higgins Matthias Burrows Sestito Richardson Hansen
  13. I'm totally leaning towards him too. If we land in the 6-10 range I'd really like to take the chance on him. He'd have to most top end skill of anyone in our system. A little risky considering the safer players around him but gillis has my full support to grow a pair and roll the dice. He's got first line elite playmaker potential if he pans out.
  14. I think he's up there with those guys but doesn't get as much recognition because he's a winger. Not sure what your getting at with the cassels part. If Dal Colle was riding the coattails of a John Tavares then that statement would have some validity. Cassels may be underrated but he's not an elite playmaker that MDC is just mooching off of. Any one of the top 5 would be a great pick for any team MDC just fits floridas needs perfectly.
  15. I think they take dal colle at 3rd. They got huberdeau barkov bjugstad down the middle. I see them taking the best pure scoring winger in the draft. I could really see the draft going Ekblad Reinhart Dal Colle Draisaitl Bennett Falling into that 5th spot would a dream come true. What ever one of them slips to 5th spot would be an amazing add to the pool. Good chance of taking horvats spot as our top prospect
  16. Haha if be so excited everyday to click the prospects thread I'd piss all over the floor like a puppy greeting his owner after work
  17. I think he'd be a great pick. We really could use another solid defense prospect. Especially a lefty He could be the kind of player we need to compliment Jordan Subban. Subban has buttloads of talent, the bloodlines and more than enough skill to succeed in this league. If we get him a big physical mobile defensive workhorse to play with. He may very well blossom into an offensive star. Fluery is the perfect addition to maximize the potential and opportunity in the youngest and most talented(according to PK) Subban.
  18. I think I like Nylander over Ehlers. Scouts don't talk about very many players the way they talk about him. Something about the way they drool over his "puck skills". Referring to him as an "artist" with the puck or saying they want to pay for the ticket just to see him play. All this hints to me this is going to be a real special player. It's like you see it in the scout or analysts face when they start talking about him. It's like an 'I got a gut feeling he might be the best player in the draft but I'm not gonna be the guy to say it' look haha I think had he played his junior days in the ohl, he would be talked about like Reinhart or Bennett
  19. Gonna be a nail biter if the 4th place team gets announced as the 5th pick haha. British Columbia all holds their breath until #1 is revealed
  20. Haha come on dude, every year players drafted outside the top 5 go on to be better than some in the top 5. I'm all for Reinhart, I even made a proposal to get him... But you can't write off the next 200 players because of pre draft rankings.
  21. I was wondering that myself. I never pay attention to it cus we're always in the playoffs. As soon as they don't announce who's in that position you know who's number one.. A few years ago New Jersey won it at 8th or something and moved 4 spots to take Larsson
  22. Meh, I'm cool either way. Ritchie would be rad but if the canucks take Nylander you know it's for good reason and they done their homework. We scout the crap outta Sweden, I'd trust the pick even though I'd be pumped as hell to get Ritchie. Either way I'm going to be stoked as hell if we draft either Draisaitl Nylander or Ritchie.
  23. I take ESPN with about 15 grains of salt, still interesting to see another view though. I too would be absolutely thrilled to see us land draisaitl outside the top 5. I keep getting more intrigued by Nylander. Some of the quotes you hear from scouts are very interesting. The one "as a scout you want to pay for the ticket just to see him", really puts in perspective what a special player he is. You see him time and time again ranked in the top 5. Also the points put in perspective from other players compared to his by Hedman in an above post, they get me really thinking he could be one of the steals of the draft. Like he's got the ability to end up outshining reinhart or bennett in the end.
  24. Listening to gillis latest interview about getting back to the puck possesion high tempo team that moves the puck fast gets me thinking he may take a guy like nylander over the power forwards. maybe he's a risk but if he does pan out hes our first line centre of the future.
  25. I wouldn't trade corrado or Tanev just to move up 3 or 4 spots. Rather take my chances with Ritchie or Nylander and keep our d prospects. Thinking about it more.. If corrado and our first could get you theirs and maybe a second or third. There's your Kesler replacement. Then try like hell to get pouliot+ out of Pitt. Pouliot and first would do just fine for me. We take a step back losing Kesler and rushing Reinhart but who cares. Pouliot is a high end d prospect and Reinhart is a high end centre prospect. Rebuild done son
