Yeah I tried looking it up too, I don't get off work till 5 but want to watch it. I think i remember being at the lake during the day when I found out about the Schneider trade so I think it might be afternoon.

It's not just burrows they still get a top 4 defenseman and a draft pick like Nylander or Ehlers. We have the luxury of offering them the best of the rest after the top 5 in the draft. Any other team they trade with will involve a lesser prospect in the draft. That's huge.

Burrows would be a beauty for the panthers. He's the kind of player they need in their top six to show those kids how to want it, battle for it and take it. If I had a young team full of high end talent like Florida or Edmonton, Burrows is a no brainer. He may have had inflated numbers from the twins but he's a special player in his own right and helped take their game to the next level as well. They needed a guy like him when he came in just as bad as he needed them. Burrows may not have the hands of Gaborik but he is a top six player and can consistently play big minutes. If he went to Florida he would look great on their top line mentoring the likes of barkov and huberdeau. I'll also add he wasn't even that terrible last year. His point totals sucked but it was more that he was squeezing the stick too hard, hitting posts and fanning a lot. He still looked the same player he just couldn't put the damn puck in the net. If anyone bounced back from last year, it will be him.

I would probably do that deal. It's a gamble but we need a new direction. I really hate to give up Burr but if it gets us our first line centre for 10years, I'm down. If we end moving either guy down the road u won't get near the quality of player as Reinhart. Would be nice to get a mid range first in a Kesler deal and use that instead of 6th overall. Not sure they'd go for it but say we got the 22nd pick from Pitt or something. Assuming everyone was willing to waive i'd offer either Hansen Garrison 6th Or Burr Garrison 22nd IMO we have 5 top 4 D now so garrison is completely expendable. Plus corrado is ready. Burr or Hansen are replaced with Jensen coming into the line up. I dunno I think either way it makes total sense for us with where we are at right now.
-
What sources? The province? Haha The top prospect in the deal if it gets done is the 6th pick. Florida needs help now and wants to start making the playoffs. The don't need Horvat, they need vets to go down there and give Lu a hand building winners out of the crapload of outstanding kids they already have.
-
Yup, 90% of this board would have been screaming dump nyquist and trade all our spare parts for whoever was breaking out on a non playoff team after 2013 season.

If Calgary takes Ritchie the battles with Kassian will be epic. Division rival RW lined up against the LW haha
-
I want to say yes, he's awesome but someone has to go. The log jam of middle six depth guys can't continue if we are to get prospects in the lineup.
-
I agree with your assessment on Ritchie. I think he's better than people give him credit for on here. There's a lot more skill there than some of the big guys in the past. I think it's going to come down to his training whether he fully reaches potential. I think the skill is all there he just needs to work on his athleticism and that's why I want him. It's a very easy thing to correct or build up when your talking about developing a player into what you want him to be. Easier than teaching a one man show to have the instinct to pass ect. To me he looks like a Jamie Benn/Lucic hybrid. He's got the skill and offensive instincts of a benn but the athleticism and mobility of Lucic holds him back from being a real high end offensive player. He's got the size and toughness of a guy like Lucic but his offensive mindset takes away from his mean streak. He should be a good player in his own right. Solid top six scorer but not quite a Benn like star. He'll be tough and mean but not quite as bad ass or intimidating as Lucic. I hope to god if we draft him our development team works on that athleticism. How much that improves will determine how good of a player he becomes in the end.
-
Really? Haha I'll trade you the first overall for the 6th if you can resign garrison for us
-
For me it depends. I'm open to be "willing to give to get" but it would have to be pieces that are replaceable. I think someone like Tanev could be an high value option that gets a deal done and we have corrado to step in. Tanev is awesome but still doesn't have star intangibles. We have a strong D to hold the fort until corrado is in the top 4 so why not? So I weigh it out. Tanev and the 6th may be better in the long run, sure but the sixth pick is no guaranteed star. Maybe good second liner and possible star but no sure bet. I think I'd rather have Reinhart in 5 years blossoming into a top line centre than Tanev a second liner and say Hansen. It's a gamble, a big one but you are all but guaranteed to win it as Reinhart will most likely still go on to be a star even if the 6th overall does too.
-
He's overrated for good reason though. There's something special about him. The kind of player that has no ceiling. He may be a solid second line centre but he's got a dark horse shot at elite franchise player. I think overrated is the wrong word. Everyone knows he's somewhere between top end second line centre and elite third liner, but nobody can deny his dark horse potential. He's the one kid I would not give up. We keep stacking the prospects, building a team and he'll be the one extra guy that exceeded potential to put us over the top.
-
I'm just saying they aren't getting Horvat too, smart guy. Horvat is not worth trading up 5 spots. If it was Horvat and a vet I would listen but the 6th would not be in the deal. Horvat is as much of a blue chip prospect as the 6th. It's one or the other plus. Personally, if it had to be Bo I'd pass.
-
No way i do Horvat and the 6th haha Huberdeau better be coming back too if we give em Bo. I'd do gaunce one of Higgins/Burr/Hansen 6th.
-
He's probably trying to project how they actually end up as nhlers. Thinking sanheim is going to be a steal so he picks him top ten and goes told ya so. Thinks Virtanen will end up like Torres so says 2nd round for the I told ya so.
-
I doubt it. No team comes in 6th last and stands pat. It's not like this is a team they built and still have faith in. I hear the repeated words "difficult decisions". Just because they want to keep edler doesn't mean others won't be made. I can see why, he's on the younger end of the core. Torts system destroyed the entire teams play so they probably think they can find the right man to get him and others going again. I'm thinking after the Kesler meetings they get the sense they can move him and that will be enough of a "major" shake up. I'm sure other moves will follow to open up roster spots for whatever comes back in the trade. Kes and edler would be about the only blockbusters we could make. They probably got the green light on Kes so no need to force Eddie out. One interesting thought is how they straight up came out and said edler isn't going to be traded. They did the complete opposite with Kesler. You gotta think he's all but done in Vancouver after reading this.

That's willy nilly. Took her out a few times but she's a lil skinny for my liking. Dumped her for this Heffer I met in Peterborough. I like em big haha
-
Better find him a damn good partner then. Trade up for ekblad, Eddie gets his peitrangelo, we're good to go.
-
My thoughts exactly haha. It's hard to even post in it anymore because your not in for a decent debate or anything. It's just a bunch of immature bickering over who won't make it as a high end nhler.
-
Maybe you missed just about every scouting report saying his skill is off the charts haha. The knock on him was size and strength but he seems to be on the right track with the strength factor. I dunno I still want Ritchie but I'm not disregarding every scout saying nylander's got more skill than anyone in the draft. If it wasn't there he wouldn't even be talked about at all.
-
Haha actually I've always been interested in him. Ritchie is still my top choice but Nylander is my second. Couple months ago I was really into the kid because the scouts were saying some crazy stuff like " as a scout you want to pay for the ticket just up see him play". Tells me he could be a superstar and it very well could happen. Still on the Ritchie train but would be pumped if we took Nylander because that means the scouts weren't concerned about him busting at all.
-
Damnit.. You guys got me wanting Nylander again
-
it would be so bad ass if he all the sudden broke out and his junior skills piled up 30 goals next year under the new regime lol. Not likely but it would be sweet if he beat Horvat at camp. Just means we got 2 nhlers on our hands
-
Best case scenario benning pulls off an edler vet package for the Reinhart first from florida. Then convinces Kesler to go to nyi for griffin+ Come out of the draft with a pair of Reinhart's and draft Ritchie 6th Sanheim 36th haha Shinkaruk Reinhart Kassian Ritchie Horvat Jensen Gaunce Cassels Fox Reinhart Tanev Sanheim Corrado Hutton Subban Whatchu know bout cupboards?
