  1. No, it’s just about the normal amount of stupid actually ….
  2. If and when this usage, with this player specifically, becomes a pattern, then I will share your concern. Until then, I support Coach Green and his deployment of this roster.
  3. Amigo? Is that really you? This take is way over the top and head - scratchingly reactionary. You sure someone isn't ghosting this account? This is where you go after one, 1, one game? C’mon, tell me some pseudoamigo is at the controls. It will make me feel better.
  4. Who are you not forgiving? The player, after knee, back and hip surgeries or management, who were first unable to foresee these debilitating injuries and then failed to insure that the player recover from these serious medical procedures?
  5. If I was older it would be the Beatles but for someone of my vintage I’m going with XTC. For me, It would be important to choose a band that does not limit themselves to a predominant single style or sound, even if they are prolific (probably especially if they are really prolific). XTC cuts a wide swath through late 70’s to early 2000’s eclectic pop. I could easily listen to them without getting bored until the end of time! I suppose Radiohead would do in a pinch with this criteria in mind.
  6. But …. If you’re playing a pick up game and you have the choice of either TT or JT, who are you going with? In regards the title of this thread, I know who I’m “taking”.
  7. Tanti is going to win this poll and that’s fine with me. No one can convince me, however, that you’re going to win with Tanti (and they didn’t). I know, we haven’t won anything with JT either (yet)
  8. If I’m captain, and I’m picking my team, and I’m trying to win, I take JT almost every time. If I’m looking at the best stats, it’s TT, obviously. Watched many a Canuck game live at old Coliseum in the eighties. No disrespect but Tanti was not a needle mover to my eye. As dynamic as his goal scoring skills were, he was a floater. Further, if not JT, Donnie Lever would be my selection.
  9. Reflecting specifically on these forums, I’ve always been partial to the Mark Twain quote “There are lies, damn lies and statistics.”
  10. I don’t have a blind spot for Q and am interested in any discussion about his potential value in trade but there’s no way Chychrun has anywhere near the ceiling Q has. You might win this trade if we somehow could replay the 2021 season with the exact same results. Don’t think there’s a Norris in Q’s future but he is/will be far more dynamic and a game changer given that he is supported in his role.
  11. Seems like an unkind swipe at the teaching profession …. unless you are a teacher yourself?
  12. Certainly if I’m building this team from nothing, and I want to build a winner, it’s Luongo every time.
  13. Good god that must have been something to watch that man hit live.
  14. This place has become handwringing central. But I suppose that comes with fandom. Some here genuinely need to release their tensions. It’s the others, who seem to delight in ramping up the anxiety (protests to the contrary), that are zapping my energy to participate lately.
  15. I’ve unfortunately read many chapters in this continuing saga. Not a page turner.
  16. The team is not JB though. The team is the the group of guys he goes to war with every day. Why would he act in such an “unfriendly” manner towards them? That’s a Petey that I don’t recognize from all I’ve seen and heard. What is it that gives you this special insight?
  17. Can’t say definitively that this is a team friendly deal or not until games are played. I’d say the risk is mitigated because of the term and reasonable cost but whose to say this isn’t an overpayment when the player is on the IR or is consistently exposed on the ice.
  18. I suspect I’m going to regret this observation but are you seriously suggesting that JB knew he had been fleeced in the deal and that “five” minutes later he was covering up for the mistake by using the term “foundational”? My sense is that this isn’t tongue in cheek (despite what you might protest) and that this is just another cheap dig on your part. And don’t spend the energy breaking down the deal and subsequent contract to Sutter …. we get it, it wasn’t good, not a highlight on JB’s resume, etc, etc. You are making some serious aspersions here. Playground stuff.
  19. Agreed that urgency is intensified but I’m not convinced there’s much compensation or term to gain in this situation.
