  1. I actually want to compete and continue to round out our core with players in the right age group that want to play here. Seattle is not going to be a slouch to play against, I'll tell you that right now..... we have to be ready to go toe-to-toe with them. The battle of the mother-f***ing Pacific.
  2. I met his dad on the ferry a couple years ago after me and a friend went to the Nucks vs. Leafs. Proud father, that's for sure.
  3. I'd be good with a sign and trade for Zadorov. From what I understand he wants big bucks, but he'd be something of a stalwart for a few years at least. He's exactly the type of D man we should be looking for too.
  4. I agree that he's the superior D man, but they fall under the same category. Graves ain't the perfect D man either. Heck, he looked like Sbisa against Vegas...
  5. 9th pick is in 9 more days!!!! Wooooooo.
  6. I have no doubt in my mind that we'll be picking Kent Johnson if he's available. My gut and brain (sort of) tell me that he'll have a meteoric rise in growth as a prospect, much like David Pastrnak did.
  7. Any of them would be perfect fits as far as I'm concerned.
  8. I certainly would. There's a list of a few guys I would be very happy with, and the chances are we're picking one of them at 9.
  9. Yeah, that interesting discussions at the draft table comment was more so a figure of speech. I have no doubt that they already know which of the two players they prefer.
  10. The Marner comparisons are about how he holds on to the puck in the o-zone and distributes it to his teammates, and not about how he chokes/cries during the playoffs. In fact, his heart aspect of the game is compared to that of Hoglander with his "dog on bone" approach.
  11. I don't think his heart is an issue (AT ALL). Not sure where people were getting that from.... From what I understand, his so-called "character issues" stem from him not wanting to play U20 hockey in Sweden, because he wanted to show what he could do against grown men in Sweden. Why's that a problem? And his on-ice play certainly doesn't indicate lack of heart.
  12. I agree. The "gut" picks are more like his actual mock (or at least that's how I interpret it). According to his mock, we'd have the choice between Edvinsson and McTavish. There would be some interesting discussions about that one at the draft table...
  13. Imagine Lysell at 5 to CBJ. That would be one of those "WTFFFF!!!!!!!" moments where I spring off my couch and do a couple laps around the coffee table.
  14. @ChrisFaber39 "I think he's a younger Patrick Kane. He sees the ice better than anyone. He's one of the smartest players I've ever played with and his shot is underrated. I've never seen someone work on their own game more. Hopefully the Canucks can land him." - Jacob Truscott on Kent Johnson
  15. Yes I know he's a huge dork, but he has a very intelligent hockey mind. I figured it was only a matter of time before there was a team who would sack up and hire him. Ottawa has a lot of young talent, so it should make for a fun challenge working with their young prospects. I'd just make it clear to him that he can't get too close to the kids in their one-on-one interviews...
  16. Jesus... I'm glad that my bachelor party is this weekend so I don't have to listen to you ladies quibble about Schmidt and OEL.
