  1. Yeah, but is there any guarantee that he'll eventually be a starter after making the show? I don't know if Detroit would be wise to put all their eggs in one basket with Petruzelli. I'm pretty sure Stevie Y was hoping that Demko would be available after the bubble playoffs. If that's true, then that says something...
  2. I don't think the Kings would pick McTavish. They're already very beefy up the middle. I think they go with a skill guy that projects as a wing.
  3. Like I've mentioned before, I think Guenther is a top-5 player in this draft. I have a hard time seeing him falling past the Kings but he'd be a great pick for us if available.
  4. An elite scorer with two-way acumen. Kind of like Boeser in that he's a sniper, but is a diligent defensive player too.
  5. Guenther's gonna have decent size too. Should fill into his frame at about 200 lbs.
  6. Hahaha don't be fooled by these shoddy comparisons.... someone farted these in their sleep (other than the Power and Clarke ones, which we've seen numerous times). Luke can actually play defence.
  7. Then I'm surprised you weren't here to spread the word of Baby Jesus beforehand...
  8. God, imagine if a team like Buffalo or Seattle took him? That would send shockwaves across the entire league.
  9. Do you think there's a team in the top-10 that will take a "chance" on him, whether it's Detroit, SJ, LA, Vancouver, etc.?
  10. I'm huge on Lysell. He's a player I'd be over the moon with.
  11. I've been hearing the same as well, but I feel the Nucks need different elements. Although, Benning was very high on Zegras and both players share many of the same elements...
  12. I don't have him going before us in my mock, but I think LA takes him if Guenther is gone. Heck, they might even prefer him over Guenther...
  13. I'm a Larsson fan. Yes, I know he leaves a sour taste in many fans mouths because of the Hall trade, and if we were to sign him, like Myers, our media would eat him alive and would be one of the most unpopular Canucks before he even plays a game, but he'd make a near perfect partner for Hughes. He can eat up 25-30 mins if asked too, and is a pure defensive D. He was a shot-blocking machine this last season for the Oil.
  14. I want to like Johnson more but I have a hard time figuring him out as a prospect. My physio/chiropractor guy knows Kent because they work out at the same facility in Burnaby, and he sounds like a really, really good kid. Sounds like the opposite of a troubled partyboy like Jake. Humble, hard-working, and obviously very talented. But I don't have a scouts eye, and I don't know how good he projects to be - making me shy of him. I could definitely see one of the teams in the 6-8 range picking him though.
  15. Anaheim is rebuilding and has a lot of exciting young talent coming up. Maybe they'd be interested in a player like Rathbone as part of a package for Lindholm (not including the 9th pick)? Lindholm would come right in and eat up the minutes that a younger Edler would have.
  16. I'd rather Guenther. I think he's a top-5 player in this draft. Adding another righty would balance out our top-6 too.
  17. Hampus Lindholm would be awesome. I can't believe he's only 27 too. He almost seems ancient at this stage.
  18. I'm not so sure about that. But in the event he gets taken by a team like Columbus, Detroit or San Jose, it'll push another good player down. Very possibly a D man like Clarke. I think LA takes a skilled winger at 8 like Johnson or Guenther.
  19. I mean, many projected Petey to play wing once he got to the NHL. Boy am I glad they were proved wrong!
