  1. Puts things into perspective for sure.
  2. Yes. Trading Podz would be a huge mistake - but I don't see it happening anyways...
  3. Well it's not going to happen so don't stress yourself out over it.
  4. An old fashioned made with spiced rum for me. Looking forward to the week!
  5. Very intriguing prospect. I'll be excited to see which team takes a chance on him - probably in one of the middle rounds. If the Canucks were somehow able to pry him in the back half of the 4th round, I would consider that a huge win.
  6. I don't think Joni Jurmo gets enough love. Classified as a puck-rushing d-man who's 6'4. He's playing at a great program right with JYP in the Finnish Liiga. I feel like there's a lot of upside in his game for a guy that size. Jurmo's floor looks to be at worst bottom-pairing defender, but a very steady one at that. I think he'll provide a lot of value to a team that picks him in the 2nd round. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/530726/joni-jurmo
  7. Benning is about to re-define the definition of a "hockey trade". Just watch. Tomorrow will be a great day

ive been watching this team since 2007, amuse me ..im waiting

  8. I'm not sure if Edler will be here in 2 years. Likely, someone like Rathbone will be on the team.
  9. The big difference though is their skating. One of the reasons Seabrook fell off a cliff (aside from injury problems) is because he started to look like he was skating in quick sand, and skating was never one of his strong-suits to begin with. OEL is an absolutely effortless skater, and although I'm not suggesting he's Nicklas Lidstrom, I truly believe he'll be able to keep up with his skating later in his career - much like #5 himself. There's no denying that Seabrook in his prime was a top-pairing/1B RHD, but because of better health and being the much more superior skater, I'm very confident in saying that OEL will have proved that he had a much longer shelf life when all is said and done.
  10. See, a guy who has Lindell as his avatar would fully understand this.
  11. It's possible that Arizona would be able to retain some $. And they take Eriksson. And Edler's 6 mil deal will be up after next year. And Ferland gets put on LTIR. And so on, and so forth... I seriously don't think the Canucks' cap situation is as dire as some make it out to be. edit: Sutter will be off the books after a season too.
  12. Lol I don't think you'll have to worry about Boeser...
  13. It's going to happen. Let the proposal games begin
  14. Now, let me ask you guys this... If we traded Demko to Motor City for a package that includes two of their 2nd rounders this year, would you keep one of them (a much needed pick), but... trade the other one, along with our 2nd next year along with Virtanen and Rathbone to acquire Ekman-Larsson? To DET: Demko (goalie of the future), and Eriksson with $ retained To VAN: two of their 2020 2nds, and a prospect To ARZ: Virtanen, Rathbone, 2020 DET 2nd, 2021 VAN 2nd To VAN: Ekman-Larsson Sign Lundqvist to back up Marky. I would.
  15. Imagine having Pettersson, Markstrom, Ekman-Larsson, Lundqvist, Hoglander and Edler all on the same team. That's like, Swedish porn...
  16. I created a proposal thread months ago saying the same thing.
  17. Even if we keep Marky and Demko gets moved, he's probably as good of an option as any goalie on the market for that role; he's Swedish, he'd come cheaper than many of the other options, and he'd bring invaluable experience (no matter the capacity). In fact, if we're in "win now" mode, it would probably make most sense to do whatever it takes to retain Marky. There are teams like Ottawa and Detroit who need their goalie of the future, and have a plethora of picks and prospects we could work a deal around. Lundqvist would fit like a glove behind Marky, I think.
  18. Why? (just out of curiosity) Alternatively, if Demko could fetch us some high-end future assets, I could see us signing Markstrom with term and a NMC, and bringing in Lundqvist to back him up for a couple of seasons (for about the same price that Demko is signed at right now). I think Lundqvist would fit in very nicely here for whatever time he has left, and, if we chose to go with Demko and Markstrom walks, i think he'd make for a very formidable 1B option and is an ideal mentor for our "goalie of the future". Considering that the Rangers haven't been great defensively over the last few years and Lundqvist's best years are long and gone, I don't think his numbers are as bad as they might seem to some. I could also see him being a treat for Clark to work with. A butterfly goalie with a wonderful attitude.
