  1. Wow, good on him to keep chugging along!
  2. Sign & trade one of em? Either one of them, Kadri, or Nylander's gotta go if they want to fit Marner. Edit: As said above though, those are nice contracts.
  3. I think the problem people will find with McNabb, for us, is the fact that he's LD. I was looking at him too, though; Good player, no major injury issues... Not sure he'd move enough cap for VGK though. Moving him + Reaves is cutting it close, and that would be without taking any cap back — Pure dump. It does look like Miller and Reaves should be the odd-men out on that team to effectively get them under with any sliver of wiggle room. I'm sure they'll be in the playoff hunt again around the deadline and would like some space to have options.
  4. I'm not crying — YOU'RE CRYING! Happy retirement, #1.
  5. I get that, but I mean... It's Boston. It's the one location where I don't think the sport itself really matters: Their fans are all... passionate... to say the least. I don't see him having a better time there if he can't even handle the low expectations of the Oilers.
  6. Maybe they throw in another later pick/mid-level prospect?
  7. Interesting. His value is at an all time high right now, I suppose. I really like Stetch though, and would like to see him stay.
  8. Fair enough. I don't follow basketball at all (only given it the sliver of thought that I have lately because of the Raps championship) and know virtually nothing of the guy, but having that kind of microscope on you... Yeah, he deserves some space.
  9. Woohoo! Good to see him back in town.
  10. Interesting idea. If they think they can work it I'd be interested in seeing it happen for a season. Especially since by the time I'll be living in Ottawa... Having another MLB location close by would be great. That's hilarious. It was funny watching the ball/bat kid chatting him up too. Guy looked so unenthused to be there tho, almost embarrassed.
  11. I don't think he'll be worth more to us than what we would have to give up in a trade for him. Colorado, who went on a fantastic run, are the lowest cap team in the NHL right now. I don't see why they would be that interested in moving him (unless as mentioned, they started talking extension and he's not into staying in COL). Not sure what they would want from our team. Take Loui to reach the floor?
  12. Wow, last I saw it was still going to be 3-4 years. This is so great — As if he wasn't a fan favourite before... I wouldn't be surprised it he steps into a new role with the club after retiring. Maybe work with and eventually replace Gradin as our Swedish scout?
  13. This deal is perfect, at 3 or 4 years. The term never bothered me and even less so now that the cap hit is significantly lower than he would get on the open market (thought he might hold out for more without the full clauses). No expansion protection to boot... It's the right way for him to become less relied on as his career begins to wind down. In a nutshell: We'll have out veteran/experienced D mentor, who is a career Canuck, at a price that will likely never be a problem (while still being our #1/2D for next season). Anyone that has a problem with that while we are trying to build our new D is crazy.
  14. Not to mention Florida is like our historically favourite trading partner. I would be okay with trying him out and seeing how he performs in our top 6.
  15. Right, I forgot about that injury! Laine has been much more concerning, I do agree. He's got some serious work to put in if he wants to get back the his rookie scoring level (and sharpen his play without the puck).
  16. If they could get one of Faulk, Hamilton, or Pesce I'd be pretty happy as a Jets fan. Ehler's stock has gotta be dropping tho, after his playoff disappearances.
  17. I was at this game! Got tix for the one on July 20th as well. Anyone that hasn't been to a Canadians game should go; it's a great way to spend an afternoon/evening. They even won!
  18. If your first team is the Oilers, I feel like a do-over is fair. Should be lots of turnover coming to the Ducks soon; I have more confidence in a rebuild there than Edmonton of the last decade-plus.
