  1. That whole sequence gave me a heart attack. I saw Sharp was about to get that shot and remember thinking, "Please, God, Lou, if you make one save in your career make it this one," and then Burr was out of the box going the other way and the rest is well... History.
  2. Would love a guy like Severson. Watched him way back in Kelowna, happy to see him succeeding.
  3. One last game, but already looking forward to the draft and next season. Thank God there's baseball to hold me over until September. Though the lack of new EP/QH highlights will be an unquenchable thirst. Here's to a short summer!
  4. Definitely; I've been putting them in a similar category as our beloved Canucks in terms of expectations. Not expecting much, but gonna be looking out for the good where they have it. A .500 season from this team wouldn't be something to be disappointed about, in my books.
  5. All of which is true, but I'm relatively new to the game compared to you folks and they were two of my favorite guys when I became a fan. Always gonna be part of my first season watching baseball. Hopefully some of these young guys coming in can step up because the D so far has been pretty frustrating already and we're only five games in.
  6. It is nice to see that they're cleaning house, even if it hurts to see some of these guys go (Kendrys, Pillar). That said, bring on Vladdy!
  7. That scream from Rowdy in the dugout after that homer yesterday was just great. Welcome to the team.
  8. Them paying the money to get their kids into these schools really isn't a surprise, but it's still enraging; the fact that the people in position to do anything about it don't... Really makes me value people who do have the integrity to do the right thing that much more. What's worse is these students/parents of these students at these universities/colleges pay sketchy tutoring businesses to do their coursework for them. Happens all the time in Van anyway — I'm sure these schools are no exception. That's what really gets me: Not only did they not earn their way into school, they don't earn the credentials they ultimately acquire, and they by extension will not be "qualified" for a legitimate job in whatever their field is. That's if their goal even is to land a job based on their alleged merit; presumably a certain number of them end up working for jobs floated to them through their connections, where not much is in even expected of them anyway. It's all a slimy way to attain a position of power, make their salary, make their parents "proud", and have it all look legit on paper so they never get in trouble.
  9. I know, but it just feels like that shouldn't happen on any team, ever. It's unnatural. It's offensive even (in the bad way, of course). And yes, I do agree there. The way this team is trending, tank nation will be happy at least. Well that's positive at least.
  10. Just saying with Edler and Tanev being out, at least he brought some experience compared to DP, Biega, and the other guys. Not that it'll make much of a difference anyway I guess, with how dismal our D has been overall anyway. It just feels like a weird time to trade him, although I don't anticipate his play/value rebounding. Edler back soon? I haven't heard anything. Also with Hughes coming up soon... that does make Gud more expendable and he should be bottom pairing at best on our D when healthy anyway. Glad to get Pearson out of him for sure. But God does it hurt seeing Pouliot-Biega as a second pairing.
  11. All these Karlssons getting me dizzy figuring out which is which. Really wanted to see Dahlen play with Petey sometime. Oh well.
  12. I'm actually quite happy with this team. *Edit: Additionally, with Pearson coming back I do like this trade. It just hurts to see Hutton-Stetch, and then pure fringe players on the backend.
  13. Hate to see Lemieux go, as a Jets fan, but it does feel like a boost getting a pretty responsible guy like Hayes down the middle. Would like another D still.
  14. Was looking into jobs in Ottawa a week ago (moving there next year) and this company came up with a number of openings. Thought they could have been a great potential option... Alas, I think I'll pass. #TeamJody
  15. Literally just bought a PS4 with my lady for Christmas...

I know how it looks, but I assure you, I've been suffering though the last few seasons with all of you. Just silently, away from the CDC nonsense. :P
