  1. Yup, some weird cultural-guilt complex. I wouldn't consider myself a Bill Maher disciple, but his "new rule," that you "cannot be more upset about an infraction/misdeed than the victim," I feel is a pretty good way to look at these things. (I don't remember the exact wording, but it was to that effect.) Assuming what @Warhippy is correct regarding the Muslim and Indo-Canadian community accepting the apology (I haven't cared to read every article about this one), then everyone else would, and should, move on. However, people always gotta be mad about somethin'.
  2. It really is. A lot of good points and counterpoints get made here, and while the discussions get heated sometimes, it usually doesn't go so far that people get completely bent and receive the ban-hammer. There have been numerous times where I've gone into a thread thinking I was set in my opinion, learned more about the issue at hand from other perspectives, and am better for it. It's one of my favourite things about this board.
  3. Anyone and everyone from these boards are welcome to fill in one of the seven remaining spots in my reincarnation of a league I commissioned a couple years back. So far I've got three friends from another board, and one from here joined. — Tentatively going to be a keeper league, we'll see how the season goes. — 3C, 3RW, 3LW, 4D, 1Util, 2G, 4BN, 1IR. — Scoring: Head-to-Head - One Win — Daily roster changes — 8 team playoffs, assuming full league Join: https://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/35606/invitation?key=101ee48f3e942efb&soc_trk=lnk&ikey=f0f31ece7b6fdc84
  4. I got the notification on my phone while in class last night that he hit the cycle. It's been a blast watching these kids this season!
  5. Anyone wanting in on a pretty chill Yahoo league, hit me up! Got 7 spots to fill still.

  6. Good kid, deserves a shot somewhere to stay in the league. I think LA will suite him well. Hopefully he does well, but as usual, just not against us. He'll just be a funny dude on my instagram now.
  7. If they trade either it has to be Laine. More pure scoring and all that, but if I want to win I keep Connor and take advantage of any Laine hype there is left. This Morrissey contract is great for the Jets, assuming they handle their cap effectively going forward.
  8. It's all about the Spyro the Dragon Reignited trilogy, guys.
  9. Just rain here in the Collingwood area.
  10. I'm probably in. I was just thinking of starting a Yahoo league and wondering where to poach people from.
  11. It's like we're being taught that switching sides is wrong, whether morally or strategically. It's better to stick to your guns and go down in flames, than (God forbid) admit a mistake or prior ignorance and learn.
  12. 1 & 2 are the Oilers and Senators, not really sure who takes the top spot at the moment. Probably the Oil due to their experience at the top of this list. 3. San Jose 4. Minny 5. Maybe LA? Phaneuf, Kovalchuk...
  13. He'll be traded to the team we play against and pull his signature move: The own goal. Then we'll retire his jersey.
  14. Voted for our Captain. Lol @ all the Eriksson votes.
  15. Aw jeez, you are correct. I remember reading an article a couple weeks ago where it quoted him saying he'd only play for MTL, but that must've been an old quote. I opened the article and within the first few lines thought I read something similar and knew the rest of it already. However, I was mistaken: Make sure you read whole articles before spouting like you know stuff, kids.
  16. Well, yeah. I'm speaking in terms of and NHL return, in response to those suggesting Edmonton sign him.
