  1. It's going to cost us some major picks or assets we don't have if you want to move anyone other than Bo. We can't give any of those players away for free if we wanted to. No one wants Miller, Boes, Myers or Pearson. Could maybe get something minor for garland, but honestly if the Canucks don't want them then guarantee no other team does!
  2. Yeah but the league has already started penalizing legal hits simply because they are too big of a hit. Players have lost the ability to police themselves due to the new No Hitting League policy.
  3. Judging by all the Miller hate... I'm going to say, Miller?
  4. Just watch how he coasts like he is completely lost looking for which man he is supposed to cover while covering no one. That's the problem with a lot of guys on this team, when they aren't using their best skill, they don't find some other way to contribute.
  5. I suppose I assumed since you are so convinced of this fact that you must be supportive of it.
  6. Completely agree. There's just no scenario where trading Boes, Garland and/or Myers just to resign Bo moves this team forward.
  7. Right, not sure how but I misread your post. I missed the "overall" part.
  8. Canucks see that 1st and second, and raise them 3 firsts (Mccan, Virtannen, Oulevi) and two seconds (Kole Lind, Jonah Gadjovich) All players we drafted and have nothing to show for it. Can argue that Mccan turned into Pearson but it would be a weak argument.
  9. What are you talking about? Good players get traded. It isn't disrespectful to move a player at the tail end of his contract in order to improve the team long term. Its not like Bo doesn't know its coming. He is part of the contract negotiations too. Its not like Horvat hasnt been paid since he got here, he wasn't "donating his time to the team". Fans want to see wins, playoffs and a cup. Thats what the GM should be trying to build here, not worrying about signing someone to an 8 year contract simply because he's been here a long time. What would be more disrespectful is to trade Miller before his NMC kicks in right after signing him for 7 years. Even though I would love it and have no issue if they moved him also.
  10. Seriously why would you want this? You cant honestly want to repeat the last 4 years all over again. Time to do what every other great team does and sell high and look towards the future. Holding onto him and paying him for 8 years simply because he is having one good offensive season is exactly what leads to another 4 years of mediocrity and is a mistake. Hmm, how far back do we have to look to prove this.... oh, less than a year ago when we didnt trade Miller, and resigned him because he was having a career year. Now we couldnt give him away for free.
  11. Besides the fact that Boeser has next to zero trade value, as already stated above, the numbers dont work. and the Rags don't even have anyone on their team who could be considered a cap dump in order to offset the salaries. Rangers simply aren't going to be a trading partner for us unless its Horvat going the other way. Teams dont see Boeser from 3 years ago, they see Boeser now. His performance at both ends of the ice leaves a lot to be desired, and his contract is scarier in a tight cap world. Boeser doesn't move without us having to add a high pick, or we take back an inferior player and are willing to lose the trade on the ice, but win it in salary offload.
  12. Don't look now but I think Myers is actually leading the team in +/-?
  13. You're missing our two stud 1st round picks in Virtanen and Joulevi!
  14. Oh you're serious? I thought the title was a metaphor for something more profound related to the team sucking......
  15. Just rewatched this and it immediately made me sad that the current team has no idea what "team" means when compared to the canucks back then. -Coach stopping at nothing to protect his star players - Leader like Bieksa steps in to take the faceoff so Lain doesn't have to fight Westgarth on his first NHL shift ever - Full line brawl - Win the game Torts even says that media and everyone else has no idea what a locker room is about. I know this current team is awful and from my perspective its because they don't know how to be a team. They need a good old fashion team building exercise. Like in MIGHTY DUCKS D2. Get some cowboy roping going! D2: Mighty Ducks - Bing video
  16. Definitely one of my favs. The full line brawl to start the game against calgary, followed by Torts losing his mind John Tortorella Sings "Don't Push Me" - Bing video
  17. Can we just sign the main guy from Shorsey to a contract. Give him the C so he can teach these idiots how to hate to lose? That's whats wrong with this team and this leadership. They might love to win, but they don't hate to lose.
  18. That's the thing! People think we are going to get some big haul for Bo but it's just not happening in today's market. He is a UFA on a career year looking for a retirement contract. He is purely a rental and while he doesn't cost much to an Interested team, he simply isn't worth much. I would say we get a 3rd line centre and a late first OR a #5/6 RHD and a late first. If they don't want picks then it will be the centre and d coming back with no pick, and neither of those will make a difference. But at least we won't be the teaming signing him to another 8m/7 year contract!
  19. I think he will eventually, but he definitely isn't ready for that kind of added responsibility. He needs to still work on his game and maturing before he can lead 20 guys in a room. But he might get there in a couple years.
  20. Depends. I mean I'm all for trading assets if they aren't part of the future. But if we find ourselves captainless before the tdl, he might be worth keeping on a 2 year deal and giving him the C. We have other guys like Kuz, Boes, garland, Hogz , Mik who could be moved for picks if needed.
