  1. Right. If we can move Miller, Bo, Boes and Myers for anything, and bring in a couple of real leaders, I guarantee you will see guys like Hogz and Garland start to flourish. Hard working guys who are in the shadow of these other "leaders"
  2. I think Schenn is the only guy on the team that shows on ice leadership and could immediately command respect in the dressing room. I'd move Bo and make Schenn captain and see if he can mentor Petey over the next 2 years. Either Petey takes over captain in 2-3 years or we bring someone else in over that time that is a better fit for that role.
  3. Oh I agree with you on the Miller take and on Boeser. I agree Bo is a 200' player. A good hockey player and an asset to the team BUT he is not a good "C". A lot of the problems with the team are attitude based, and a complete inability to push back or develop a winning environment. I feel a captain should play a key role in these areas and Bo doesn't. He never showed it when they gifted him the C and he hasn't shown it since.
  4. And the first goal, when he coasted to the bench, leaving whoever came on to be out of position trying to scramble back
  5. Agree 100%. Time for a change, even if it's just for the sake of making a change
  6. Bo absolutely does not do his part. Scoring is only 1 part of the equation. He is failing at leading on the ice. Failing at inspiring the team. Failing at conducting himself as a true leader. This team has had a country club atmosphere and attitude for years, all while Bo has been wearing the C
  7. Exactly what happens when your leadership group making 5x more than your bottom group are complacent.
  8. For some reason I just can't give a guy like Hughes shit for anything. He is a young guy continuing to set points records. He isn't built as a physical D so he isn't capable of changing the game with a hit or anything. He doesn't wear a letter. So anytime he speaks with the media I give him credit. Him, Petey and Schenn are doing their part. Rest of the team should be in front of the cameras, not those guys.
  9. Agree. That's the scary thing. All fans have this high expectation of what the return will be for Bo based on what other competent GMs were able to obtain in the past. Well the league has changed and our GMs are inexperienced and handcuffed by ownership. Bo will be traded for another Bo, only 5 years younger, and this team will be in the exact same position, only we will owe the new Bo a new contract and the cycle will restart.
  10. Agree completely. But your word "unloading" scares me. You're right, I think the best they can do is unload Bo, which means it won't be the blockbuster with a bunch of young assets coming back that people think it will be. People need to remember Bo is a UFA looking for his retirement contract. He is purely a rental and in today's severely capped out market a rental just doesnt bring in what it used to. Moving Bo is a must in order to start a change, but it will barely move the needle IMHO.
  11. I agree on seeing Bo go. I'm excited at the possibility of turning over a new page for this team, but hearing rumours that we are still looking to retool rather than rebuild means no real assets coming back. Also they got nothing for miller last season and Bo is even less desirable because he's a UFA. For some reason I feel they will butcher this trade and leave us even worse than we are now
  12. But also don't add young players, instead just resign aging vets to retirement contracts so we can keep the country club atmosphere.
  13. How come the Horvat trade defines management? Why not the Miller non trade and subsequent resigning which was two mistakes compounded? How come you're giving them a free pass not holding them to task on that blunder? Pitchforks aren't out early. The Horvat thing is another blunder. They have made it so we couldn't resign our captain and leading scorer even if we wanted to, and the whole league knows it, which lowers our position slightly. Management is incompetent so far. It's up to them to prove people wrong, but I don't have high hopes. You can defend them, and be optimistic all you want, but this team is trending backwards without the benefit of gathering assets.
  14. Yeah, blocking shots is for league minimum guys! Not your overpaid leadership core (I know Bo is still on a good contract but you get my point)
  15. I'd give miller away for futures if something like that was even possible. Free up that cash. Honestly it's clear the "country club atmosphere" is still alive and well
  16. Pretty sure I saw Miller using the bench tablet to shop on Amazon during the game. He had $8m worth of stuff in his cart.
  17. Preeeety sure this is the only argument that can be made to defend management, and it is getting old... Really old. No one expected them to turn us into a cup contender in 1 year, but to have done nothing, while at the same time signing miller, Mik and picking up scraps and handicapping this team even worse. Yeah they are proving they are incompetent, not patient
  18. Sad fact is they are paid whether they do Anything to fix this mess or not. Clearly they are chosing to simply collect their paychecks and pretend like we are the only team in the league that is up against the cap
  19. Seriously just make him captain. He is the only one in the older group who knows how to play the game for more than a paycheck
  20. Embarrassing. Absolutely gutless effort. Zero pushback except for Schenner. No leadership on this team capable of inspiring anyone whatsoever.
  21. Well you see...when a team puts all their faith and reliance on only 2 players who happen to play on the same line, it means 70% of the time they are terrible. Also Nurse = $9M lol!
  22. Sure, and the culture was still off during that time too. Big difference between being a team that can win, and being a winning team. Big difference between being able to push, and being able to push back.
  23. Only if we can move Miller and also find a new "C". Bo is a great player, but if we want the team culture to change, but we keep all the same players then we need to identify a better leader.
  24. Absolutely. If you add in Kuzmenkos deflections or tip ins then I would say at least 3/4 of our PP goals are scored that way.. which is the hardest thing to defend against or a goalie to save.
  25. They posted a graphic last night of where Bo was scoring all his goals. I think right in front of the net was 10. I'm guessing maybe 12 of his goals this year have been deflections
