  1. I'm offended that someone is using Ketchup at a Pizza Hut. WTF is this guy putting Ketchup on?
  2. As a fan I really enjoyed Torts as a coach. However I cant speak to what its like being a player under him. i got the impression that those were difficult times for a lot of canucks players. I don't think guys like Petey, Hogs of podkolzin and to a lesser extent Miller, Huggy and Boes would respond well to his "in your face" style of coaching. Take into account the world has become a very sensitive place, where anyone who has an opinion or style that challenges someone's feelings or perspective, Torts would be even more of a disaster in Vancouver.
  3. Man, I really wish I could see things the way the optimists do. This team is not bad, but they sure aren't great. The coaching is not bad, but it sure isn't great. Last year the optimists were saying "Jake just needs another year, power forwards take longer to develop"... now he's gone so they are saying "were only 9 games in, good teams take longer to develop" This team has been outworked and outchanced in every game to start the season save for the Detroit one, which they lost. It's time to shake things up one way or another. A trade, a coaching change, a GM firing.
  4. Definitely a step in the right direction for Boeser and Petey. Better team game. Green is still struggling to coach at an NHL level.
  5. I'm in such agreement I'm reposting... I saw this and right away you could tell there's some smoke.. and where there's smoke.. there's FIRE'D
  6. Oh man! I had totally forgotten this! Man back in the day even our trades generated fun stuff. Team is so flat!
  7. Yes... yes they have. Not sure what games you're watching but we have been outplayed in every game save for Detroit, which we lost. We've also lost the ability to "steal" games we shouldn't have. There are a lot of problems with this team well beyond the slow start for Petey.
  8. Old time hockey. Guy was a dinosaur. Wrong fit for our group but still, guys a beaut
  9. Oh man, what I wouldn't give for that level of emotion again! I still remember where I was the day Torts stormed the hallway. Epic. DONT PUSH ME!
  10. What is everyone's second favorite team to watch? I'm considering doing some experimenting.
  11. You could have written this anytime in the last 3 years and it would be just as accurate as today.
  12. In reality he is on pace for 90 points... I was just trying to be conservative. I didn't want people to think I was exaggerating. Fact remains we have the talent.
  13. Podz was also playing hard along the boards. Green might have thought his play could be misconstrued as physical... So he pulled his ice time back. Green doesn't like physicality.
  14. The lesson is to "play within the system" don't use your talent, speed, creativity or anything unless it fits precisely within Greens system. If you score or do anything to make Green feel like you are thinking independently you sit.
  15. He was. Looks like his minutes have been cut back in the 2nd to teach him a lesson.
  16. We don't lack talent. Horvat, Petey and Brock are all capable of 30 goals. Miller and Huggy are 60 pt players. The team has the talent, there's something or someone (Green) that's not capable of allowing these players to tap into that talent right now.
  17. Ok, So change the gender in the scenario and you will immediately see how ignorant your post is. If KB was Kylie Beach, a 6'1 female volleyball player who is also your daughter, and BA is still BA,, are you confused still on how a smaller person can sexually assault a larger person? Do you need your questions answered and everything needs to "add up for you" in order to understand what happened? Sexual assault can be male/male. female/male, even female/female. It can be old/young, young/young, power/weak... it doesn't discriminate.
  18. As an anti Green fan, I can say I am in no way panicking. I wish he was let go the end of last season. most Green haters aren't panicking they are just frustrated and have been for a long time. To answer your question. How many NHL teams hire a new coach before firing their current one? none, thats not how firing and hiring works. The issue is Green is not an effective coach, deal with that problem first and foremost. Then you can start interviewing with who will fix this mess.
  19. Consistently bad coaching leads to consistently bad coach bashing no? Until Baumer and Green figure out how to adjust their structures on the ice that poor horse isn't going anywhere.
  20. True, but sometimes getting lit up on the scoreboard helps a team refocus and recognize their poor play. My issue with last nights game wasn't the score. It was the complete lack of emotion, compete, push back, effort etc. If you lose 6-1 the entire team, coaching staff and GM know what happened. When you lose 3-2 sometimes you walk away with the wrong attitude. Thinking, well we almost had 'em.... which they did not.
