  1. Does anyone know what the lines are going to be in Utica? I hope Baertschi and Conacher are on the same line.
  2. No doubt about that, no point to even compare them really, totally different players. But as of now I think Baerschi is the better prospect. He was pretty much scoring close to ppg in the AHL and NHL before all of the injuries and drama.
  3. Baertschi's jr numbers >> McCanns He was pretty much the best player in jr the year after his draft... Even Benning said so. until McCann plays in the AHL and NHL I rate Sven higher, but not by a lot. I'm about 95% confident he's not going to bust here. We have 2 of the best coaches for young guys.
  4. He's our best prospect behind Virtanen easily imo. I think this will really wake Shinkaruk up too. This guy was a top 10 prospect a few years ago and has put up elite numbers everywhere he's played. He has way better numbers then Jensen and people still think he will become a top 6 player. Still don't understand why people are whining about giving up a pick. We have a ton of players to get rid of during the trade deadline and we have to trade a goalie, which should get us some draft picks.
  5. We better be trading Higgins or some vets. The trades are crazy this year, we can get a great return.

when you think Bowey Severson Keith Subban and Weber were all D men in the 2nd round in "deepest drafts"....ya, you load the hell up and hope you luck out

you will luck out in this draft if you have many picks. its not a fact but its a darn good bet. Unload redundant vets and Bonino.

  6. TooToo owned the Bruins, Too bad they couldn't get the w

  7. Wow, Virtanen is seriously one of the best hitters I've ever seen. Never seen someone counter hit so good, he's going to be scary in his prime.
  8. His first goal was pretty nice. One timer from Dorsett.
  9. Ehlers is ridiculous

His skill doesn't lead to anything in big games though and he's nothing but a floating paperweight diver in those games.

Mogilny delivered in big games, is pretty much a hall of famer, and is about 10x the goal scorer Ehlers will be at the NHL level.

Did anyone notice his head was down the entire time during that silly ambidextrous stunt? He'll be killed trying that crap in the NHL. He's learning some really bad habits.

Still can't believe he fanned on that open net shot in Game 5.

      Still won game 5 though

Thankfully, otherwise I would still be having nightmares about it.

  11. It's because he wants to show up Toews.
  12. Hah yeah, and playing on the 4th line/bottom 6 most of the year. Ehlers is faster then Drouin so his game might translate even better. I still think Drouin has the better career though.
  13. Nashville and their defense.... Weber, Josi, Jones, Ellis, then they lost Suter, Hamhuis, Timmonen, Franson, jeezz...

That's like 5-6 d-men who are capable/will be capable of being a #1 defenseman on most teams.

      Don't forget Ryan Parent

  14. Don't forget about Ehlers, might be more of a playmaker but he's dominating the Q at the same level Drouin did, if not more.
  15. Yeah, I bet he puts on a decent amount of size and muscle over the off-season. He's already around 210. Weighs almost as much as Kassian... He's going to be wrecking guys when he's in his 20's....
  16. It's funny how even in limited ice time, Kenins and Clendening looked way more creative with the puck then 3/4 of our team. 1 play where Kenins cut to the middle shocked me because I haven't seen any of our forwards do that for a while.

Not that rare. I remember in the late 90's when we'd be awed by a new payer and then after a moth he'd be forgotten and the team would still have no drive.

      U dissing mah boy Horfat?

  17. I hear ya man, but it's the Canucks, never gonna happen. He definitely should be getting a bit more ice time, especially in games where we have a 2 goal lead... Have no idea why his line was benched so much last night. If we're winning and the young guys are playing good, then give them more ice time. Rest the twins, they look pretty tired lately... if they're not tired, then they look like they're not trying half the time.
  18. I think he should be in the AHL atleast one more year with top 6 minutes before he makes the NHL.
  19. The only problem is that he's not going to learn any of these things in jr unless he gets traded to a different team. Which is why I think Benning wants him to make the team next season so he can be coached and developed the right way. Going to be an interesting training camp next season.
  20. Hockey was so much more exciting when we had the WCE and rivalries with Calgary, Colorado etc. Every game was exciting and had tons of hits. Now I can barely watch a full game unless it's playoffs.

  21. I never got why people questioned his hockey iq until I watched him this tournament. He seemed to be lost more then any other player in both zones and his vision is pretty average. He really needs to work on his passing also, barely any of them were crisp or tape to tape. I'm still obviously excited about him though and think he will definitely be a top 6 player. I think he will peak at 50-60 points and be a physical force in the NHL. Will probably be one of the best hitters in the NHL once he fills out.
  22. Yeah this, his first 2 games he was playing with a lot more confidence. He was bobbling the puck all night and missing on one timers which makes me think he's lost most of his. All he needs is a goal or another huge hit and it should come back.
