  1. Are you sure you watch? His skating definitely needs some improvement.
  2. I think he still has the potential to be a 2nd line, physical, 20+ goal scorer. I think he continues to work hard this summer and surprises at camp and makes the team. Like a few have already said, people will see how valuable he is in playoff hockey. I just hope he plays left wing.
  3. I think he'll crack the team if he keeps his fitness up. He's going to be on a mission for sure with all these new young guys coming in. (Boeser, Goldobin, Dahlen, our pick this year) and I really don't think he wants to spend another season in Utica with all his family and friends in Van. Can see a starting line up of Baertschi-Horvat-Boeser Granlund-Sutter-Eriksson Sedin-Sedin-Goldobin Virtanen-Gaunce-Dorsett Virtanen can get some pp time and move up the line up with injuries or outplaying other players, and yeah he definitely should be playing lw.
  4. Not sure if you've ever played, but when your captain and leaders have no pushback and get ragdolled by players like Marchand it can be pretty dermoralizing to the team and sets a bad example.
  5. I think he makes the team. He looks like a different player than when he was playing in Van at the start of the season. His effort level and endurance has improved greatly. With all the young guys in the lineup I think it will motivate him even more and bring it every night.
  6. Yeah seriously, I've seen posts saying he could be a 4th liner and that he has "some skill" The kid has elite skill, first line potential imo, but has a lot of work to get there. i think him and Boeser on a line would be awesome, although Goldy prefers right wing.
  7. Yeah and I think they want them on their natural wings because it's a lot easier on the break out and defensively. I understand that for most players, but not for goal scorers like Virtanen who make a living ripping down their offside and sniping shots just like Ovi. That's why he was drafted 6th overall. i made a topic about this a long time ago. Virtanen also scored pretty much all his goals from the left side at the world jrs too.
  8. Yeah, it's pretty clear if they want him to score he's going to have to play left wing.... Not sure why they can't just play players to their strengths. Who cares if it might sacrifice a little defense when er can't score a &^@#ing goal.
  9. This is exactly why WD needs to go even though I think he's done a good job developing a lot of players. Look at Boeser, he made a living ripping one timers on the pp from the left point and of course they don't try that, even though we have one of the worst pps in the league. Never tried Virtanen there either or on the left half wall even though he did the same in Jr. and scored in pre season on the pp from a snipe there.
  10. Haha it's just almost every time I log on I see you arguing with someone.
  11. Warhippy is definitely one of the most annoying posters on this board. Chill bro it's the Internet.
  12. He's looking WAY better than when he was with the Canucks. Puck just isn't going in for him. If he had some actual offensive linemates I'm sure he'd have a lot more points.
  13. Is this post serious? Chabot is a defenseman, and did you see his play in the world jrs? How should Boeser be much higher? He's barely ppg and our 5th rounder Gaudette is out producing him badly. By your logic Gaudette should be ranked above Boeser. And yes I know he's been injured and had surgery.
  14. And the coach refusing to try Virtanen on the left wing when that's where he's scored the majority of his goals throughout his career. They want a big right hand shot on the power play, yet never tried Virtanen on the left point or half boards where he loves to snipe from. They don't even put Stecher on the left side where he can rip one timers from. I honestly don't know what goes through our coaches heads sometimes. Sami salo anyone? Played left point.....
  15. I've been saying this since last season, he needs to play left wing. The shooting angle for a rh shot on the left wing is way better. He played left wing in jr when he had that 45 goal season. Even in the world jrs all his goals came from the left side of the ice. The style of game he plays is similar to Ovi's, and where does Ovi play? Left wing. Boggles my mind he hasn't been tried there yet.
  16. Agreed Sedin-Sedin-Sutter Eriksson-Horvat-Burrows Baertschi-Granlund-Dorsett would be my lines right now
  17. Does anyone know where to get a millionaires jersey in Vancouver?

  18. I don't think it's a good idea for him to go to Europe... London is one of the best, if not the best at developing stars. He'll also be a leader on their team this season and can hopefully take his offensive game to another level. Also wasn't this past season his first on NA ice? Probably be better for him to stay over here.
  19. Just watched a bunch of his highlights, most of his goals seem to come from in front of the net, will be a perfect fit for the twins and they already have chemistry.
  20. Only thing that pisses me off is Edmonton getting Puljujarvi. It's different now, Edmonton has McDavid and they have new management. I could see them trading Eberle or Hall for a d-man. Draisaitl-McDavid-Puljujarvi -RNH-Eberle -Caggiula-Yakupov Nurse-Subban? Klefbom Reinhart Their future looks pretty good.... I'm happy with the Juolevi pick though. Does he have #1 potential, or is he going to be more of a #2 guy in his prime?
  21. There's just really nothing to look forward to with him imo. His speed isn't good, even if he gains some weight he'll be nothing more than a 3rd liner. I still think Shinkaruk could have been a pretty good scoring 3rd liner. He's much more aggressive and physical than Granlund as well and they're pretty much the same size. Trade just makes no sense to me when we have Hank, Horvat, Sutter, McCann, Vey, Gaunce, etc as centers, could have traded Shink at the draft in a package or something.
  22. So if he was 6 feet would people still be saying he's too small? An inch isn't really a big deal, 5'11 is not that small if you have good skating ability, just ask the Ghost.
  23. Well looks like Boeser should go pro now since they're going to win the championship. McCann and Boeser on the top line in Utica next season?
  24. I'd say he goes top 10 for sure. He'd probably score an insane amount of goals in jr. McDavid Eichel Strome Marner Hanifin Provorov Werenski All most likely go before him
