  1. I want Sautner to be assigned to K-zoo instead of Utica this year. He would have a much better opportunity to play there than with the Comets I think. Plus, I want Subban to be assigned to Utica and possibly McNally.
  2. Didn't refresh before responding, other posters clarified. Thatcher's agent did say at the time of the trade that there is no intention of him going to the WHL though.
  3. What is the AHL's development rule? In the AHL, player development is a top priority. The American Hockey League and the Professional Hockey Players' Association have the following development rule in place: Of the 18 skaters (not counting two goaltenders) that teams may dress for a game, at least 13 must be qualified as "development players." Of those 13, 12 must have played in 260 or fewer professional games (including AHL, NHL and European elite leagues), and one must have played in 320 or fewer professional games. All calculations for development status are based on regular-season totals as of the start of the season.
  4. Him playing this weekend will depend on the health of Andersson and Pedan I think. If both of them miss time, the Comets defense is only 7 deep. Biega, Sanguinetti, Huskins, Earhardt, Negrin, Blain, Hutton. But when healthy, and if Hutton is ready to play in the A, D pairings could look like this: Andersson-Sanguinetti Huskins-Pedan Hutton-Biega Looks good to me!
  5. Agreed. He's actually been decent this year but baertschi is clearly a better use of a roster spot.
  6. The game I saw, it was carter bancks who was scratched
  7. He was just centering Jensen and shinkaruk on the 2nd unit power play
  8. Could just be a case similar to Kesler and the way Benning handled it. If a guy doesn't want to be a part of the org, then you move em.
  9. From the Provies: 2012 draft pick Ben Hutton is planning on going back to Maine for another season. Hutton has long vowed to finish his degree before turning pro, something teams knew at the draft, which could explain why he was taken in the fifth round when some believed hed be taken in the third. The Canucks, in turn, are planning a visit, which would include Sir Bennington, at some point over the next few months. The visit would be to give him the old Weber blueprint on why he should skip his plans and join the Canucks instead. The Canucks would like to make room for Hutton in Utica. Thats not as easy as it sounds. There does appear to be a glut of d-men in this organization currently. One which could be remedied by trading KBlock3. http://blogs.theprovince.com/2015/03/09/the-provies-its-hammer-time-again-the-lack-twist-and-why-canucks-were-angry-with-old-17/ Doesn't seem likely but crazier things have happened.
  10. After Gillies and Demko, the list falls off fast
  11. He's probably instantly in the top 5 of the Canucks prospect pool. So, certainly a top Canucks prospect.
  12. Which pair of first round picks will be the most prolific Canucks? Baertschi/Jensen? Horvat/Shinkaruk? Or Virtanen/McCann?

You're not even playing the game! which tandem? 2011? 2013? or 2014?

    3. Piggy Bank

      Piggy Bank

2014 - only because my expectations are lower than that with the other guys

    4. Ghostsof1915

      Ghostsof1915

Jake and Bo will rule them all.

  13. Could just be a fun player to watch next year regardless of league.
  14. What's your point? in comparison to a very strong draft, yeah, you take the picks made in the previous draft more often than not. there was still good talent in last years draft.
  15. You're starting to remind me of Hunter S. Thompson with your lizard references. Except he was seeing gila monsters while on hallucinogens haha
  16. Trade values seem a little high today.. I hope we don't overpay for anything short term.

  17. I knew he'd be a good pro when he didn't laugh out loud at the camera man who fell down in front of him
  18. I like how so many complained about the thread placement, and now the CT version is just a bunch of "next captain!" and "Bo knows.." comments. worthless.
  19. Alex Biega just Lee Sweatt'd this game.

      Where's Wellwood

I just hope he doesn't Lee Sweatt his career.

  20. Since when is Dal Colle a cancer? I've heard nothing but the opposite in that regard.
  21. Hey Utica Fan, is it Gaunce or Bancks playing center on that Gaunce-Bancks-Zalewski line?
  22. Maybe it's just me, but I do not see him as an NHLer next year. Horvat played a more professional style in junior, that's how he made the jump early.
  23. Yup, he speaks like a teenager. you know, cause he's a teenager.
  24. He had a respectable freshman season, and he's picked up his pace this season. I think I still give the edge to Hutton at this point.
  25. Congrats to Ronalds Kenins on his first NHL call up! Really excited to see what he can do. A Kenins-Horvat-Kassian 4th line should be able to make some noise.

      Gross-Misconduct

Only noise Kassian makes is when he misses his check and slams into the glass

    3. Odd.

      Odd.

Who the hell is Kassain Gstank? I've checked NHLnumbers.com and Kassain doesn't have a contract with us.

Kassian is the physical manifestation of Horvats Alter hockey ego.
