  1. this veteran group has a lot to prove

  2. wild get pominville.. canucks need to do more

  3. compared to cody's first season playing up with the canucks, schroeder has been much more noticeable in all areas to me. i really hope jordan gets to stick around and he gets to tear it up for us next season.
  4. HA the homepage says "Jake Schroeder's third-period tally lifts the Canucks over the Coyotes"

  6. good looking stats for a free OHLer. Well worth the gamble, if he played last year he would definitely have been drafted.
  7. in terms of professional athletes, he is still a kid. And its his 2nd professional season. They aren't forcing a situation, this is his first year with a place on the team. Your right saying he can't play the same game as in junior. And thats the point of playing in the AHL, to develope. He's working on his game and as with ALL prospects, we'll see how far he can go. There is no reason at this point to say 'enough'. prospects dont't have to show they are NHL ready as soon as they start playing pro. if they show progress thats all we can really ask for.
  8. Good luck to all the Canucks prospects starting post season action this month!

  9. comparing that output to 20 games with only a goal the season before is difinitely an inmprovement. undrafted prospect who is going to require patience and developement. How high are you setting your standard for a player in those circumstances? Also, his last 4 goals have been since mid february, his season has been up and down but by the end it will be a big jump from where he was last year. and thats all we can ask for.
  10. His first 20 games were bad, and now when he's playing well you say this? He is holding down a position in the AHL, he's having a good season. If you watch the games you can tell he's improved. edit: first 20 games as in last season.
  11. he's been ppg status a few times this year. I'm betting he will finish that way
  12. I see, and agree too. Jensen is the only one i could see having a small shot at it but honestly for him to make a big impact, i think that will be a few years. that's sort of how it works when you draft late several years in a row
  13. Training camp is going to be interesting next season. i'd say he has a pretty long shot at making the canucks but it would be cool to see him in Chi next season.
  14. we have youngsters on the team, just not this one. Cause he's not ready.
  15. nice saucey to split the D to raymond, gets his first NHL point. i can't wait to see how far he can go this year.
  16. he played really solid. I think insulating him with burrows and raymond would be great for the second line and his developement. I'm looking for him to step out a little more and get some shots off, even as soon as tomorrow night. It's really cool to see him play right now, i've been waiting for his arrival for awhile.
  17. we're very fortunate they dropped that low. And that we have a GM that is smart enough to make the picks.
  18. you basically just said its not ebbetts fault, but it is his fault. but i agree with the second part, there is no cycle and no rush chances. Schroeder and him have very similar defensive game but schroeder is a much better fit for that line offensively.
  19. he literally got to point per game status for the season yesterday. never know what could happen.
  20. belleville is looking like the real deal. they've been getting games like gaunce's tonight from multiple guys last few weeks. i'm seeing shades of linden in gaunce right now. (starting to sound like a homer, but its hard not to be optimistic about his consistant improvement and coming back from injury) Just a very complete performance tonight
  21. OR he can play great defense and put up numbers! goal and assist so far tonight
  22. he did great against top end guys just then. that sort of play is more important for his future with vancouver than him putting up big numbers IMO
  23. i think hes on what you would consider to be the second line with graovac right now. quine and cramarossa have been getting more minutes the last few games. he is on first PK unit, however.
  24. I liked archibald's play a lot but volpatti looked like the guy for the role. that said i am more excited about archie's future than ever. he handled himself against pros and solid AHLers.
  25. Was ebbett given anytime on the powerplay? If not i'm wondering if he will be given that opportunity tomorrow.
