  1. This is why I don't follow HF Boards. It's where the fans with unrealistic expectations go to vent about how their fantasy world's getting shattered. lol EDIT:: If you try and say anything good there you get hounded on as well, so there's not even a point in arguing with them.
  2. Wow, I wasn't paying attention to hockey this morning and suddenly I saw that Ferlund was signed as was like "whaaaaaaa?" This will be an interesting team this year to watch.
  3. Because who wants to speli Joki.... Jorki..... aw screw it I'll look up Nylander!
  4. It's hard to say in my opinion. It would really depend on which team asked for what player first I would imagine. Perhaps it's hard to imagine Chicago wanting Nylander but you never know. Remember: Nylander's only 21. He literally had his first few games when he was 19.
  5. @The 5th Line Not trying to be annoying by the way with the above comment. Just that's literally how I look at things. There will always be some sort of biased no matter how much we try and negate it. It's called being a human being. I'm not going to continue being petty in this thread so I'm going to stop.
  6. I think in the right place in the right time, a trade like this could occur, but it has to be just that. I think Buffalo got pretty lucky on this one.
  7. You're biased. I'm biased. Everyone here's biased. How does admitting to being biased make a difference? How does it actually lower integrity? I'd actually argue it's the opposite and improves integrity because that person's being honest. Honesty goes a much longer distance than trying to "be right".
  8. Pretty simple answer to this: it's not the NHL and a lot of older players' careers have pretty much ended once they get sent down.
  9. So we shouldn't be biased watching games? Should we be cheering for all 31 teams equally? I don't see how your post even makes sense to be honest.
  10. They're pretty much all in for this year because that team will not be able to afford all of those players the year after. I can't say it's the greatest team to put together but I guess anything's possible.
  11. But was Pettersson the BPA when he was picked? How many fans were like "what?" when that happened? BPA is going to be extremely suggestive and every team and every scout will have different lists on the order of who they should pick. If Juolevi was considered to be about the same as Tkachuk then I don't blame Benning one bit for that pick. None of us are mind readers as evidenced by how we draft compared with how Benning drafts. Sometimes who we want might have been better in the end, but when Benning proves fans wrong by picking a Boeser or a Pettersson, he really proves fans wrong.
  12. Probably because they're easier to sign, so why not? #takingjokeseriously
  13. The thing is, he could be 30 years old and one could still say he has potential and they wouldn't be wrong either. The question then comes: how long do we want to wait for that potential to show up, if it ever shows up. Don't get me wrong. I'm totally rooting for him, but there has to be a point where we say "okay, we've given this player a fair shot and he hasn't shown up" and decisions need to be made. If he doesn't get signed this off season by us, then it's simply time to try someone else.
  14. lol That was such a terrible awards ceremony in terms of presentation. Wow, I'm such a downer today. I hate everyone! RAGE!
  15. Steve Simmons might be worse than all of our reporters combined. I think Alflives might be a better reporter even.
  16. And I don't doubt Ferland would add that element we need to the team. The problem I see comes down to cap space. Had we not had the Luongo retire bomb thrown down on us, we may very well already have a player like Ferland in the lineup. Benning has mentioned himself how that retirement prevented him from getting another player. So we're left with what we have now. Curious: do you think we should have got Ferland instead of JT? Choices need to be made in times where we have limited cap space and I think the highest priority should be Boeser.
  17. Guys, just ignore Myst. He's irrelevant and insignificant in all of this. A pest that wants your attention. Nothing more. Good on Hughes for giving his own time to inspire someone else. Focus on that and not Myst.
  18. Okay. Even then, to get a solid top 6, you first need a solid 1st line. You can't put the cart before the horse.
  19. What makes you think JT's a one trick pony? Please tell me you've seen him play before answering otherwise there's no point to this conversation at all. Not trying to imply anything, just I don't really see the point in jumping to conclusions if we haven't even seen him play here. As far as whether I think it's "wise to lay money down on a one trick pony", that's kind of irrelevant to all of this since I don't think JT's a one trick pony and I think he is a solid top 6. Remember. He's coming from Tampa: the best team in the league. The only reason why he was bottom 6 was because he was on Tampa.
