Maybe if you get the Bills to take up hockey and the Sabres to take up football it would fix the problem.

I don't see why it isn't Canucks Talk to be honest. It's about the media talking about Canucks. Sure they talk about other sports, but how would it be any different than talking about our players' golf swings? In my opinion, as long as it's linked to the Canucks in some way and doesn't have it's own category already, then it should be fine for Canucks talk (and even if it does have it's own category sometimes that's fine). We need variety in here and it gets stale otherwise. -

And, unfortunately, if it does come true, he'll be able to chest pump about having 1 in 3 accuracy. It's kind of sad really. -

At least it's not someone going "Benning sucks because I know everything because I watched a game last season!" I'd much rather be reading this thread than those threads. lol -
[Report] Ben Hutton to become UFA
The Lock replied to BertaNuck's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Maybe I should make a random trade generator program and capitalize. Eklund seems to be doing well for himself so why not? EDIT: That actually would be doable and fun to make just for laughs.... -
It was his rookie year. He was going to be erratic. I don't really think it makes sense to base it on that when he's had time to develop in the KHL. That being said, the KHL is obviously a different league than here. We simply won't know where he fits until he comes over if he comes over. Maybe he's a 3rd liner. Maybe he transitions better the 2nd time and becomes top 4. It would be a fresh slate for him really if you think about it so I don't really think it's fair to base his previous experience (under WD on top of that) with what he would be like moving forward.
-
So how exactly is assuming he doesn't fit in any different than assuming he will fit in? They're kind of the same really if you think about it. They're assumptions in the end with the only difference being one is positive and the other is negative.

And then Mashedchand for dessert.

Him and Virtanen could use Lucic as a ping pong ball. Could be a game within a game!

From what I understand, for that to happen the sun would have to be much more massive like a black hole. I can't say I'm an expert on that though.

Canucks reveal new jerseys for 50th season
The Lock replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Well if the Orca was left out then the poll was biased to begin with and I'd honestly take it with a grain of salt at that point. All that tells me is someone made a bad poll and I wonder what other logos were left out from other teams. A good poll would provide fans with every possibility to choose from. This clearly isn't a good poll. lol -
To be honest, I'm not really going to hold my breath for that. Defenders are in such demand right now that the likelihood for competition for these defenders is pretty high. I'd be happy with even 1 of them moving forward. Slowly work our defense up.

Canucks reveal new jerseys for 50th season
The Lock replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
If you are using this as proof that the orca doesn't represent the Canucks properly, then you are also saying the that skate and the stick-in-the-rink are also poor representations of the Canucks identity since those weren't on the list either. I wouldn't even be surprised if the Johnny Canuck wouldn't make it on that list had we used it at some point since similar jerseys (like Buffalo's head they used at one point) tend to give fans nightmares. lol You know what? At this point the orca's our identity no matter what you or I or anyone else thinks. If you want to complain about it for the next 10 or 20 years that's your call, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Let's wear our ugly jerseys loud and proud. -
[TRADE] Erik Haula to Carolina
The Lock replied to CanucksCountry's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
This is almost what I was thinking when they were talking about getting JT Miller for a discount in his trade thread. People on drugs referring to trades like they're buying the player with money. I appreciate optimism but it just got silly and there was no point in arguing with people in their own little world. lol -

lol I think Reeves would be pushing it, although you never know given Vegas' cap crunch. -
Will the Canucks win a dispute with NHL on cap penalty?
The Lock replied to Slegr's topic in Canucks Talk
Doubt they'd win it. LA has similar issues with I think Mike Richards (anyone can correct me there if I'm wrong). The league would just have to point to LA and say "they have to deal with it too". -
I remember that too. lol It was basically between Hodgson, Beach, and Myers.
-
I'm kind of hoping Myers wants to be here given he has history in BC so maybe there's something there working in our favour. One can hope anyway.
-
Well... there is Mike Milbury.....
-
Pretty much. It's almost like we're helping to fund their pursuit of Panarian and Bobrovsky. (... I think I need another beer)
-
Man, I remember when people were upset we didn't draft him over Hodgson.... ...I guess they were right (if you ignore Karlsson at 15).

[Rumour] Canucks inquired about Sabres defenceman

If you mean flat as in stale then I agree!
