“Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.”

Just pointing out that if you wanted to make an argument for why someone shouldn't be banned you shouldn't start with complaining about rights you didn't have in the first place. FWIW I think the Canucks' organization as a whole is trash. If AV expressed the same sentiment as me and got banned for it then that sucks.

I have no idea what happened to AV or whether or not his banning was fair. You can argue that arbitrary decisions are made on this forum. It is simply odd to be making claims about rights to free speech while using a website where rights to free speech never existed in the first place. I'm all for upholding free speech, but I'm not stupid enough to to expect free speech in places where I have no right to such such a concept.

Jannik Hansen: "You heard Jim on After Hours, you're hearing retool on the fly, fixing it as they go... they started this 10y ago when they fired AV. I haven't seen the fruits of this labour. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. The next step is shaking the tree, and from the top."

So, if the current world view is to remove/take down statues of people that were involved with slavery, why is it that the pyramids in Egypt are not being destroyed? Afterall, the Egyptians used slaves to build them!

The NHL's an absolute joke for posting this:

Is there a good alternative to theScore app?

@kanucks25 The NHL standings are slow to update and when following baseball, the pitch-by-pitch section often glitches.

,,,,and that's a wrap.

Travis Green's response to Demko getting robbed says a lot about his coaching style.

next to quinn, who are our fastest skaters?

Will never get tired of Lu's tweets, this one in response to someone who made their own backyard rink.

Are you tired of the negativity on media about the Canucks? (Twitter, Canucks Board, Radio, etc)

@N4ZZYDrance is fine when it comes to print... his podcast with Farhan Lalji is, to me, impossible to get through. Not because what Drance says is necessarily wrong, but because he seems to regularly openly mock/laugh at the lack of success individual players are having. He is just extremely obnoxious, especially because he seems to be accentuating the length of his laugh for effect. Reeks of West Van privilege.

The team is bad and deserves to be held accountable. That said, I find some media members (e.g., Thomas Drance) and a large portion of Twitter basically intolerable in terms of how they discuss the team's problems... too many people seem to hinge their identity to being as mean-spirited as possible about this team's lack of success. They predicted the team was bad and then derive pleasure from how bad the team is.

Sekeres reporting that high level Canucks meetings including all upper management, coaching and possibly Aqua Man are occurring today and tomorrow.
Should be interesting.

@NewbieCanuckFanThere is a lot to gripe about with local media, but most of them do not have positive things to say about the Canucks organization. The Canucks over the weekend privately reached out to various media sources to criticize their coverage of the team (being too negative) and I don't think the media took too kindly to that.
The media who were shills for the team now literally work for the team (the former SN650 people).

@RubikThe ignore list unfortunately only works for posts, not status updates.

Putting an offer on a home is an awful process. Either someone outbids you or you are left questioning whether you offered more than what it is worth.

Does anyone want to take over the prospect tracking thread I usually do each year?

The media bias is really obvious.
Not much of a peep about Vancouver, but Toronto's minor signings get attention. LOL. -
Canucks just hired the guy who tried to hoard vaccines for members of Hollyburn in West Van. Tone deaf.

@Jimmy McGillPublicly? Hollyburn a private club. My understanding is that the vaccines were intended for members only. They tried to use their pull to get their local pharmacy to divert vaccines to their club. It was not like the pop-ups that were open to the public.
Happy to change my mind if they tried to get the pharmacy to administer vaccines at their club while opening the club up to all persons... I'm just not sure that was the case. It sounds like rich people trying to find a way to get their vaccines sooner than others, including those in need. It happened during a time where vaccines were in shorter supply than they are now/were in the last while.
