  1. Waif was allowed to kill Arya, she got the nod from Jaqen. The waif believes that Arya was dead, as she did not resurface, therefore she did not think Arya was suffering. There are also instances of the hound showing that he was not at all subservient to someone else. He left the Blackwater and said "eff Kings Landing" and "eff the King". He then left Kingslanding simply because he was fed up with being subservient.
  2. Filler episodes are absolutely necessary, but filler episodes don't need to be poorly written either. For me, two episodes have gone by where important things have happened, but the manner in which they were told fell flat.
  3. Regarding the waif, what rules did she break in her few seconds of screentime? Didn't think the Hound's scenes were humanizing; not that they didn't show his humanity, just that we've seen him humanized since season 1 with Sansa and then all throughout s2 or s3 with Arya. I was glad to have the Hound back, but nothing he did in this ep was particularly groundbreaking. The only thing I liked about this episode was the comedic moments: the Bronn/Jamie combo, the sharp 8yr old running House Mormont, and pretty much anything Grandma Tyrell said.
  4. There are definitely guys that don't necessarily 'like' Helwani, but as a journalist/interviewer, you probably wouldn't be doing your job if everyone liked you. The guys you've mentioned aren't necessarily the most reasonable/easy-going guys.
  5. Scientists need to study what the hell it is that Hendo's chin/head are made of...
  6. UFC still can't decide if they want to be a professional sport or a mafia organization. Banning Helwani for being good at his job. If anything, he built a buzz around the announcement. Instead of UFC just dropping a line in their promo about Lesnar, people were buzzing to see if the Helwani scoop came true. Imagine Bettman banning Friedman or McKenzie reporting on a trade at the draft before Bettman got the podium, so Bettman yanked their credentials (obviously he can't as he doesn't have the authority that Dana White does).
  7. Jays starting pitchers have gone more innings that anyone in the AL. I think you needed to let Estrada rest the 9th.
  8. Love watching Estrada work. Always looks so calm, seems to also get batters off balance. Watching the BoSox feed and they are absolutely drooling over Estrada.
  9. That's why I'll miss Goins. Would rather watch a good defensive team than a good offensive team.
  10. Donaldson and Bautista can be overly aggressive on the base path and I've criticized them both at times, but that was a heck of a heads up play by JB.
  11. I worked last night so I was unable to get information on batting stats after 60 pitches, just before 60 pitches.
  12. Does anyone here have mlb.tv? If you live in the lower mainland are many of the Jays' games blacked out? NVM. No blackouts for those wondering. Welp, there goes $100.
  13. Not a lot of help for the Jays last night... boy did San Diego blow it in the 7th. It was either seven or eight 2-out singles for the Mariners in a 9 run inning.
  14. Its pretty cool that Higgins is still here in Vancouver doing charity work after everything that went on last season.

  15. Varys, Little Finger, Ser Davos, Jon Snow, Arya, there is a list of non-entitled characters. There is also a very easily noticeable range of entitlement. If Danyerus' level of entitlement is interpreted to be the same as other highborn characters then you are missing important differences.
  16. This time last year the Jays were 6 games below .500 and were just 9-17 on the road.
  17. I'm going to play with the formatting, but interested to know opinions about other stats to collect. This is for today's game versus NYY but I'll keep aggregating the stats across as many games as I can. The 60 pitch count is slightly arbitrary but I had to pick a cutpoint. The 60s pitches is also not 'total pitches seen in a game' but rather total pitches seen from the starting pitcher.
