  1. Could have used that roster spot for BoSang instead of this midget. I think I did it right.
  2. BoSox broadcasters already talking about poaching JB or EE to be the DH after Ortiz retires.
  3. BoSox broadcast is quality (no sarcasm here). The Remy/O'Brien combo is a stark contrast to Jack Edwards.
  4. They've got the BoSox's start at 30 pitches in the first inning. Boston got to feed on a knuckleballer yesterday, now its the Jay's turn. Speaking of knuckleballers, Jays should just keep Dickey in the bullpen until summertime... or at least when they're in the deep south. Too cold for the knuckleball right now.
  5. Time to blowout the Oilers and reverse Bob Cole's 'prediction'.

  6. "Top of the order" has a whole new meaning when describing the Jays. When you have six guys that rightfully belong 1-3 in the batting order, pitchers are going to wear down. Wish Martin would stop putting so much damn pressure on himself.
  7. Is there a way to see non-recent status updates?

The only other way I know of is to have participated in one first, then click a notification. That only works if you've commented in it though.

  8. Hamhuis has been real key to the tank.

Bartkowski and Weber have been worse than Hammer, but that's why they get paid less. For what Hamhuis is supposed to be capable of, he's played furthest from his potential. His concussion history+broken jaw contributes to this as well.

he sure is a good mentor to the young players...that is more important than some fans give credit for.

^ Can't deny that. He brings a level of maturity that some kids will clearly need to learn so that the locker room doesn't become filled with a bunch of young jock morons (hi Edmonton).

  9. Airplane and then the first instalment of the Naked Gun. Cured.
  10. I kind of feel bad for the guy. It's like some cruel joke that high school jocks play by naming the ugly girl prom queen (Carrie?). I don't know if Affleck knew that the joke was on him until he got onto the stage. Why on Earth would you cast him as Batman. He seems like a nice enough guy and everything, and you're just feeding him to the wolves.
  11. I think not tapping may make you tough, but also foolish. On the other hand, tapping quickly doesn't mean that you are NOT tough. Tough guys can also be smart, and recognizing quickly when you are in a position that you can't possibly escape from, there is no sense in just lying there and accepting it.
  12. And when you share your account with other people, Netflix's algorithm cannot keep up with the diversity of your views.
  13. If you haven't already hit the Coldplay episode yet, you're in for a real treat. That said, I don't care how preachy or sentimental Aaron Sorkin is, I like his quick dialogue, and S.1 of Newsroom is one of my favorite seasons of television ever.
  14. Exactly. Its shocking how many people don't think about the magnitude of differences in weight for a smaller man versus a bigger man. Going from 280 to 265 involves dropping 5% of your weight. Going from 170 to 155 involves dropping 10% of your weight. "Fifteen pounds is fifteen pounds". No, its not. Conor was stupid to think he could go from 145 to 170, even if he 'walks around' at 160ish. You need about a years time to learn how to carry that extra weight. That's why small guys in the NHL that are naturally 150-160 turn to crap when they try to bulk up in the off-season and get to 170-180. They're just slow, can't use the new weight to their advantage, and no longer are able to do the things that made them successful when they were 150. Sergei Shirokov is a good example. Guy was built like a fist but was largely ineffectual because he couldn't dart in and out like he could when he was weighing 165-170.
  15. If Nylander keeps this up he is going to ruin the Leafs' season.

  16. The Newest Hunger Games movie: stopped watching/10 My girlfriend is a huge hunger games fan... she woke me up after the movie was done to rant about how bad it was...
  17. Melancholia: 6.5/10 Contrary to some, I really did think Kirsten Dunst gave a great performance. However, I thought the movie was confused about what it wanted to be, and you saw this through characters that would at times act in ways that were not consistent with the manner in which von Trier had set them up. The stable sister becomes suddenly unstable, which I get was done to try and contrast her with the unstable sister that suddenly becomes stable, but just because depressed people act calm in a crisis does not mean that stable people become panicked. Also, it was as if von Trier couldn't decide if he wanted this to be a sci-fi movie or simply a movie about depression. The bean counting was terribly out of place. I appreciate a director that wants to do something different, but sometimes different just for the sake of different becomes self-indulgent.
  18. Boxers need to be throwing a ton of punches, keeping arm loose like that helps avoid draining energy. Also helps when you have that reach advantage like Diaz did. Can just keep poking that arm out there to find his range. McGregor doesn't have the frame to do what he wants to do at 170. Too much bulk for him to carry around, he needs to drop down. No shame in that, its not a matter of will/effort, just genetic card your dealt.
  19. They sure gave Diaz some nice airbrushed abs on that tale of the tape breakdown.
  20. Wow. Right out. Holly didn't even look like she was trying to tap at the end... looked like she was air-boxing.
  21. Holm looks like a child that pouted a lot. But she looks like she'll destroy.
  22. There are so few good hockey teams in the league right now. You've got Chicago that is in a league of their own and then Anaheim, LA, NYR, and Washington. After that, huge drop off in quality.

  23. For the amount of talent that Pittsburgh has, they are the least interesting team to watch.
