  1. Kind of odd that with all the issues facing current/former players about painkillers, the Sportsnet broadcast chooses to use Tylenol as a sponsor of a segment about injuries. I get that Tylenol is hardly Turanibol, but at least a sign that it is unlikely that we will see many CBD advertisements from the NHL.
  2. Is this what the ETF will focus on, or will it be space more broadly? If there is a big pull towards autonomous vehicles I imagine there will also be a pull towards developing the best/most efficient satellites. Same thing if TSLA develops its own phone.
  3. Lol. Yeah. Their defence is trash and Allen to me was one of their few bright spots.
  4. I like the Nets. Harden undoubtedly makes them better, but also more difficult to cheer for.
  5. Congrats. I sold PLUG before the 1.5 billion investment. I had a really good entry point but once again sold early. I tried reading up on lines of resistance/support but couldn't find enough information on how such lines get defined in the first place.
  6. I've got a pinky-toe dipped into ICLN, mostly because I wanted to learn more about its holdings. I find that my motivation is stronger when I put a small amount into an ETF; makes me more focused on learning about the companies within that ETF and then I can reinvest or establish a position with specific stocks.
  7. Still a bit new to this. If a player signs in the KHL can I just release him to clear up the roster spot? If so, the Kings release FW Pavel Shen. https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2020/12/bruins-prospect-pavel-shen-expected-to-sign-in-the-khl.html @Nail
  8. Whoopsy daisy https://theathletic.com/news/evander-kane-bankruptcy-sharks/oFdq2gVHYP5J San Jose Sharks winger Evander Kane has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy for liabilities of $26.8 million, The Athletic’s Daniel Kaplan reports.A note in the petition filed to federal bankruptcy court in San Jose says that Kane, 29, may opt out of the season “because of health concerns given the recent birth of his first child.” If Kane chooses this route, he would not be paid for this season. The petition cites details such as payment of $1.5 million to cover gambling losses, a $1.88 million counterclaim to a battery charge from 2016 and up to seven dependents living with him. Kane also explains in his note how a condensed NHL schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic will affect his earnings.Kane, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft, signed a seven-year, $49 million contract in 2018. He has earned $52.9 million in his 11-year career.
  9. Must be nice to make a coffee at 9:55am PST and by 10:05PST you're now 30% richer.
  10. This is why I am so late to the game. I remember watching Youtube videos back in like 2010 explaining Bitcoin... I got a wallet and was all ready to go, but the more I paid attention the less I understood. That's probably in large part because this doesn't come easy to me; I don't have the aptitude for this the way others do. As much as I also don't understand common stocks, at least I understand WHY I don't understand certain things. With cryptocurrency, I felt like the odd man out with everyone seemingly knowing something that I couldn't understand. I recently invested a small amount of money in both BTC and ETH with the hope that have a small amount of skin in the game would motivate me to learn more about where I put my money.
  11. But the main difference is transaction fees. I pay to buy and sell bitcoin. I don't pay to buy and sell BITF. Plus BITF isn't tied directly to bitcoin so it gives me a bit of diversity.
  12. I started about 3 months ago. Since that time, ARKK is up 38.5%... I've been swimming upstream and had some decent success, but I would have been better off just parking everything in ARKK.
  13. Same here but with BITF - owns and operates server farms to validate Bitcoin transactions and earns crypto from transaction fees. Up 39% this past week.
  14. BTF up and down between +10% and +20% all day. Just kept selling high and buying low... I use WealthSimple for CDN stocks because I get free trades but don't have to worry about the currency conversion. Probably put in 10-15 limit buys/sells. Altogether probably my first "big" day since I started.
  15. Evander Kane - Nicklas Backstrom Alexander - Radulov Oliver Bjorkstrand - Brock Nelson - Craig Smith Drake Caggiula - Tyler Pitlick - Connor Brown Pierre Engvall - Colin Blackwell - Christian Fischer Erik Karlsson - Jacob Trouba Damon Severson - Devon Toews Dimitri Orlov - Travis Demott Carson Soucy - Brett Kulak Cam Talbot Martin Jones We will be adding one additional forward once training camp is over.
  16. Would like to designate Alexander Campbell, Brett Berard, and Connor McClennon as my ELC slides. @Nail
  17. If anyone is curious, here are prices of the 30 stocks from the Dow that I divided by (A) net earnings for 2020 and (B) gross profits. I highlighted the five stocks that were earning/profiting the most while costing the least. Obviously doesn't mean a ton, but information is information. Notes - quarter earnings and gross profits scaled to a billion (i.e., 147.06 actually equals 1,470,600,000) but the stock price was not adjusted, so the actual raw numbers highlighted mean nothing; they are only relevant when compared against each other. Stock price based on close on December 31 (not today).
