  1. Nice idea. Here are my top 10 (instead of doing actual work): 1. The Godfather 2. Dark Knight/Christian Bale Trilogy 3. Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs, etc.) 4. Rocky 5. John Wick 6. James Bond 7. Jason Bourne 8. Naked Gun 9. Lethal Weapon 10. Star Wars (Only if I am allowed to count only the first three made) Honorable mentions: The Matrix, Toy Story, Kill Bill, Jason Bourne, Die Hard * I still haven't seen all the LotR movies, nor the Mad Max series minus the most recent one. ** I didn't count X-Men because there are just too many characters it doesn't seem right to treat it as a series.
  2. The LA Kings will likely use their compliance buyout on Drew Doughty in order to sign several upcoming RFAs. The team is also looking to recuperate draft picks. My DMs are open. Doughty has a NMC, but as Nail mentioned, NMCs will be waived at the end of the season. When that becomes the case, if anyone had hopes of signing Doughty as a UFA, we could also negotiate a trade that would help you avoid losing out on him if he signs with a different team.
  3. Prisoners: 9.5/10 Denis Villeneuve. Jake Gyllenahl. Hugh Jackman. Maybe one of the more underrated movies of the 2010s. Mad Hugh Jackman is terrifying. Also, great lighting in this movie; something I've really started to pay attention to ever since watching S. 2 of Ozark.
  4. Lmao you need to google how many hotels are in both cities and then let me know what you find. Hint: the downtown core of Vancouver has more than the entirety of Minneapolis and St. Paul. If you looked at Metro Vancouver, there are nearly 3x as many facilities.
  5. Randy Johnson sailed a pitch over and behind Larry Walker's head... So Walker switch-hit and turned his helmet to protect the back of his head:
  6. If three games per day, then Edmonton definitely makes sense given the quality of their ice. The ice quality in Vancouver has been criticized a bit this year.
  7. He also couldn't stay healthy to save his life. Never played a full NHL season.
  8. Edmonton's hotels... are not comparable to Vancouver's...It's silly to think non-tourist destinations like Edmonton and Minnesota have similar infrastructure compared to Vancouver.
  9. I wasn't saying Vancouver should get it because the city needs money, only that as a resident it would be beneficial. Players will only be isolated for 14 days won't they? After which they are free to go outside just like the rest of us. I would think the availability of multiple hotels that can offer services is better than one high-end practice facility that has to be shared across 6-8 teams.
  10. I hope they take the list to the NHLPA. No way that players are choosing Edmonton/Minnesota over Vancouver. The city could use the influx in cash.
  11. Sounds like there is a plan to remake Scarface. I guess I'm now getting old enough to recognize when remakes sound like a horrible idea.
  12. Fighters like Anthony Smith are way too tough to ever come out and tell their corner they don't want to fight anymore. But the guy's body language and eyes said exactly that. He probably shouldn't have went out for that 5th round.
  13. SFU will have virtually all classes held online... exceptions will be small classes with labs and possibly some graduate classes. It could vary from department to department, and university to university, but most lectures will be asynchronous.
  14. All I remember is being in like grade 4 and learning that Bryan Adams sued the CDN government (or something like that) because 'Summer of '69' was not considered a "Canadian Song" and thus wouldn't regularly be played on the radio because it didn't fit Canadian content laws.
  15. Bryan Adams hasn't written a decent song in at least 20 years... if ever. People shouldn't be surprised that he also has difficulty communicating on Twitter. His tweet was poorly worded but if you look at his tweet history it is quite clear he was reacting to the mistreatment of animals and not to a particular race.
  16. He's so fake. One day he's tweeting about respect and wishing fighters good luck and the next day he's calling those same people bums. Be real. Or pick one persona and stick with it.
  17. I thought that they did a pretty good job based on their selection criteria. EDIT: Mogilny is definitely someone that I wouldn't have cut.
  18. Agreed. I think the ref ultimately made a mistake in stopping the fight... but I don't think it was gross negligence either. The ref just spent a good 4-5 seconds watching Cruz's head bop around. Easy to get tunnel vision and see that and not the hands bracing himself on the canvas. It is hard to feel too bad about the loss given that Cruz was getting outclassed to that point and had been gifted the title shot over guys like Yan and Aljo. I get why the UFC did it though. You can't exactly have faith that Cruz would be able to stay healthy for long enough to work his way up the ranks.
  19. So what's the point about crying over how there are other loopholes? Should someone not be allowed to want to fix one loophole because there are a bunch of others? If I'm putting words in your mouth, then what is your point of listing other loopholes?
  20. Only when its late enough to be dark and I'm taking the dog out.
  21. So you're saying that when life isn't fair you should just lay down and take it? That sounds pretty cowardly and defeatist to me.
  22. It is like you're being purposefully obtuse. I don't get your point about pointing out that lots of loopholes exist. Does that mean that people aren't allowed to fix one problem because there are lots of other ones? You start somewhere.
