  1. Oh, well if its a heading... I guess it definitely happened. If you actually read the article, no censorship took place and nobody suggested that it take place. The video was removed from a website by the owners of the website. That isn't censorship. That's a business' choice about what brands they want to market. But they put it back up because they didn't want to be accused of censorship, even if they weren't censoring the video in the first place. People are over-dramatic.
  2. Papillon (2017): 6.5/10 Classic prison escape movie. Felt like you've seen every scene in some other movie at some point in time.
  3. Who actually said that? I think you, like a few others, just want to believe that this is some big censorship scandal. It is not. There is literally no censorship happening whatsoever.
  4. Yes, but that has nothing to do with free speech. Nobody is required to use social media. Moreover, social media poorly represents average persons in society. Social media allows fringe groups to appear larger than they are because a lot of people simply do not care enough to respond. Those that reply on Twitter/Social Media and are obsessed with getting offended are not generalizable to the population. They just appear that way because they are so active.
  5. Ozark S2 Decided to give it another try. I had watched up until around E5 and then gave up about a year ago. The show is nearly impossible to watch in the light of day. Everything is so dark (literally) or shot in an awful blue tint. It's like the director discovered Adobe yesterday. Hard to get into the series.
  6. There is more free speech now than at any point in the history of humanity. The problem is that people poorly understand the meaning of free speech. Free speech has never meant that you can say anything, anywhere, anytime with no repercussions. For example, getting banned from Twitter is not an attack on free speech. As a business, Twitter should have the freedom to decide what they do and do not want posted on their platform. If governments were shutting down websites because they conflicted with a certain viewpoint, that would be a violation of free speech. I don't see/hear that happening.
  7. Censorship is a huge problem... but people are getting riled up about a non-event. In what sense has censorship taken place?
  8. Most people will only need to read it once. You seem to be the exception and need to be repeatedly hit over the head with information. You claimed that the public were being told to stay inside. I told you this information was wrong. I showed you that you were wrong. You continue to whine. I found that information by literally Googling: You complain about people being lazy and yet you seem to lazy to do any research. You've just decided what you want the truth to be and then ignored any information to the contrary.
  9. Provincial health literally telling people to exercise and eat well: http://www.bcmhsus.ca/about/news-stories/stories/tips-for-supporting-your-mental-health-through-the-covid-19-pandemic
  10. The City of Vancouver literally lists exercise as an essential activity... https://vancouver.ca/home-property-development/covid-19-coronavirus-within-vancouver.aspx But no, everyone else is incapable of holding multiple pieces of information in their head simultaneously.
  11. No, they don't. At least not full stop. If everyone has a problem with your question, maybe you should try to look at how you are phrasing things and understand that you are misrepresenting the arguments that many have made. It is a classic straw man argument to suggest that we are being told to stay inside. Full stop. They have kept golf courses open (or at least re-opened them). Same with tennis courts. The trails that I go on are not closed. Parks are not all closed. If we were being told to say inside altogether, these options would not be made available. You, intentionally or unintentionally, are misrepresenting key pieces of information about the instructions that the public has been given.
  12. My point about walking the dog was to show you that my anecdotal evidence is not better or worse than yours... but it does show that you are wrong to make conclusions that everyone is staying inside and nobody is getting exercise. You keep acting like saying that "the whole country is told to stay inside" is magically going to become true.
  13. How do you know that this is the case? I don't think too many people will disagree with your idea of giving the public greater information about nutrition. I think your message gets lost / glossed over because it is often wrapped in this idea that people are not getting exercise and are being told to stay inside. I'm walking my dog 4-5 times a day, going for runs, etc. and I frequently see others out and about and managing distance at the same time. I'm not saying people are all being healthy; I'm just saying that I don't think you have enough information to be coming to the conclusions that you are making.
  14. How many are actually calling for the film to be censored? It seems like some just want it taken off a particular website that advocates for a particular cause. That isn't censorship. If Michael Moore started his own website, hosted the video, and people called for it to be taken down, then that is censorship. This is just going to be used for PR. Let's make people think the video is being banned so that more will watch it.
  15. The Last Dance: 7.5/10 Craving sports and this doc on the Bulls' dynasty(ies) helps with that... but it seems really disorganized. I could like the idea of going back and forth between 1998 and the journey that got them to that point... but overall it just seems like they jump around without a theme purpose. Like someone with severe ADHD directed it. Still worth watching.
  16. Money Heist: 6.5/10 Feel like I should have watched the show with subtitles rather than dubbing, because the voice actors just don't match my impression of a lot of the characters. The enjoyable part is the scheme; how they get out of certain scenarios, the planning behind the plot, etc. The bad thing is almost everything else.
  17. Oh, hunny. No. If you think Trump was being sarcastic then you are just as naive as the people that would follow his lead.
  18. This is a classic case of a guy trash talking an opponent in a way that simultaneously insults half of the guys he played with. He's on Zoom with like 12 guys that no longer play in the league. Guess Lucic thinks that they aren't important either.
  19. That is exactly the message RCMP should be putting out to the public. Helps ensure the person doesn't freak out when he sees a police officer and decides to start shooting.
  20. The aid has been announced but has not yet been made available. Your son may also qualify for CERB (https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/ei/cerb-application.html). Some universities also have funding for financial assistance for undergrad students needing technology support: https://www.sfu.ca/students/support/academic-policies-and-procedures/financial-concerns.html If they are a student in BC, the province also has a 3.5 mil fund for students in need. Your son would have to contact his university financial aid office. Contact details are here: https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2020AEST0018-000615
  21. If an individual is convicted of certain offenses, a judge must specify a mandatory weapons prohibition (s. 109 of the Criminal Code). For first-time offenders, the prohibition would be for 10 years. Such offenses include mostly quite serious offenses. However, judges can also implement these prohibitions for violent offenses like assault as well (s. 110 of the Criminal Code). https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/c-46/section-109.html
  22. Except the Roxy is not very conducive to flattening the curve...
