    Moved to Nanaimo from Port Moody. We have a 2,000 sq ft home, a nice backyard/frontyard, an unfinished two car garage that we turned into a family room/home gym. We aren't stressed about mortgage payments. We paid less than what we would have needed to pay for a 1,200 sq ft townhouse built in the 80s where you're paying $400 month to strata. If you can get out of the Mainland, do it. There are parks everywhere. Our dog is happy. Not being cooped up in a condo gives us things to do beyond just working from home. My only regret is not doing this sooner.

    I do not understand this fan base's hesitancy to take a winger at #11. Whoever they take, they will be at least 2 years away from playing professional hockey and 3 in terms of making a meaningful impact/playing regularly with the big club. By that point in time, contracts will be up for half a dozen wingers, including Boeser, Beauvillier, Pearson and Kuzmenko. Using today's needs to make drafting decisions is silly when this team's roster will look entirely different by the time the drafted player is ready to make the jump to the NHL full time.

    LAK [Brief] State of the Union: We lost the Bedard sweepstakes but are excited to pick 2nd overall. We intend to take Adam Fantilli. We will certainly listen to offers, but I won't respond to any of them until the start of the draft. The 2023-24 season will be one of transition. Will be looking for creative ways to improve our roster. One of the more obvious ways is to help teams shed salary. If you're tight against the cap and looking for solutions, make sure you reach out to us.

    About a month ago a young guy was vaping INSIDE a coffee shop. I asked him to stop and we got in a bit of a verbal confrontation over it. I just couldn't believe that this was something I actually had to ask someone to do. As soon as the confrontation fizzled he got on his phone and started texting. I was genuinely concerned that I was going to have to deal with several of his friends showing up to fight me just because I called out shitty behavior. But this is why people seem afraid to intervene. People would rather just escalate things to avoid blame instead of taking personal responsibility.

    I don't know what Drance is like as a person. As a media personality, I don't like him. However, I agree with a lot of what he says about this team. What exactly is he saying that is wrong? I get not enjoying negative coverage of your favorite team, but there is a difference between not enjoying something and identifying why something is inaccurate.
