  1. Love Bo but we have all known he was gone for a while. Fact is that if he really wanted to stay in Vancouver, he could have moved closer to what Vancouver wanted to pay. Miller moved first. At least I will sleep easier knowing he won't get injured at the All Star game or something stupid and end up walking for nothing. I like the return. Interested to see what happens next.
  2. I feel like they were fine with either result. If he got through, great. If he got claimed, it frees up a roster spot, so great. I don't think it has to be exclusively that they were trying for one or the other. People acting like they just weren't looking at a calendar OR did this as a Machiavellian scheme are probably both wrong. They probably thought it was relatively risk free.
  3. This ends the dream of the Petterson to Petterson to Pederson goal call.
  4. I was thinking of this a bit earlier on in the thread. Didn’t know we had so many qualified doctors on the boards with how quickly folks lost it over this decision.
  5. Hold up. Is drama between Apricot’s husbands the true cause of discord in the locker room????
  6. It’s a good point about his shooting percentage. We will see what happens. I really feared a long term signing here so I am greatly relieved that wasn’t the case. 2 years seems a much more reasonable risk to take.
  7. Wow I loved him as well and surprised he wasn’t here longer.
  8. Maybe, but do those statistics and comparable a factor in the fact that his is still an NHL rookie? Increasing comfort with the NHL game should surely offset a slight age related decline in this case, wouldn’t you think? I really don’t think those averages make much sense in this case. Likewise I think his unique situation probably deflated his value as a rental. Better to sign him. I am willing to bet it will prove to be a great signing.
  9. I think this is a great result. His lack of playoff experience would have made him an unlikely candidate for great value as a deadline rental. Better to keep him and keep Petterson happy and have at least one player on the team with a spark of life to them.
  10. The way I see it, winning and in particular, playing well, increases the value of our trade assets at the deadline and morale and confidence of the players we keep. Losing increases our odds for a top pick. I am going to celebrate either way.
  11. Agree 100%. In some ways I am also glad Bruce left this team as a beloved legend, rather than sticking around long enough for us to fail in the playoffs in future years and become hated for it. He wasn’t exactly known for playoff success elsewhere. Better to work on a defensive systems with a new coach. Will reserve my opinions until I see what they do with the team.
  12. Provorov has the freedom to do exactly what he did, refuse to wear the pride jersey. The rest of the hockey world has the freedom to think he is a piece of garbage for that choice. Freedom of expression is not the same as freedom from consequences. Would not want him on this team.
  13. Yeah if they do this surely it is to prevent further damage to the confidence of players we actually want to keep. That and start to work in systems so they can hit the ground running next year after some work with whatever players we end up with. Easy for us to say to ride it out. We can turn off the games. I would love for them to do it but it may not be realistic.
  14. Thanks for proving my point, given the 8 posts on the topic on this very same page by those continuing to make fun of "wokeness".
  15. 1. CDC poster calls out other poster for using language that is blatantly sexist. 2. Other posters jump in with endless over the top statements about cancel culture, wokeness and society going down the tubes and conspiracy theories about diversity hires (the fact that we hired immensely qualified women to fill 2 positions is somehow a tsunami of wokeness). 3. Everyone asks the poster who brought it up why they are so worked up, offended and melodramatic. LOL
  16. Yup this right here. He didn't say Alvin and his Chipmunk boys and girls. And yet there are only two women in that group. Anyone who can't see the intent in that is intentionally looking the other way. It's not like I reported the guy or said he can't say it. I just think we have every right to call him on it.
