  1. Congrats! You should leave and not come back now that you are so clearly vindicated!
  2. Dammit Kassian you beauty. I just can’t hate you like I should
  3. Ahahahaa I was just about to call a goal by Pearson when he scored. Always seems to happen when people are complaining about a player too hard.
  4. Pettersson looks noticeably stronger this year. You can see it on the ice where he is not as delicate.
  5. This first couple of games is where we might suffer some from not playing the regulars for the last couple games of preseason to get the rust off.
  6. Edmonton are playing them hard but also getting away with a hell of a lot of interference.
  7. You boys better be careful you don’t activate the angry Edler.
  8. There’s not enough smelling salts in the world for you Smith.
  9. Super excited to watch the Canucks. Sad that I expect Gaudette will sit this one out. Fits Green’s pattern.
  10. Will CDC implode when Green keeps Gaudette on the bench for the 1st few games to start the season?

No one will be mad tbh. People were mad over the Boeser one because at the time we only had Bo, nothing else to look forward to. Now we have Bo, Petey, Hughes, Ferland, Miller, etc.

      It worked fine with Brock.

Never underestimate the ability of Canucks fans to overreact to something...

  11. I mean I hate to say I told you so... Who am am I kidding? I love telling you I told you so! Glad they cleared.
  12. I don’t think it is. I just acknowledge that they have both expertise and a massive knowledge gap compared to the fan base (seeing every practice, knowing the players capabilities) that these decisions are based on far more than what we can see in a few games. They have earned my trust because I never expected a mistake-free performance from them. Every GM makes some mistakes. I suspect this wont be one of them any more than many other unpopular decisions that were later proven to be right.
  13. I did not see this coming, that is true. Neither did most of our fan base. Either they are incapable of understanding our genius and should turn over team decisions to an internet vote or they know what they are doing. Given how our team looks now compared to before Benning took over, I am inclined to believe the latter is more likely. Especially when the reasons they have given make perfect sense and may end up being in Baer’s best interests as well. Benning bro out.
  14. They have explained it and it was exactly what I said it was. They were not considering him as a third or fourth line player and he was not good enough to crack the top six. He was never being compared to Schiller or Erickson who they are perfectly content to play on the 4th line or put in the press box. Benning said what Baer needs to get back on track after missing so much time is top ice time and he wasn’t going to get it here. He willl get it on another team or in Utica. They tried to trade him and no one wanted him.
  15. I have every bit of respect for fans who simply disagree this was the right move, but the never ending emotional drama in here is something else entirely. Does that make me a Benning bro?
  16. I wonder how many of these crybabies will come back and own it when Baertschi clears waivers, meaning we just kept an incredibly useful depth player that can be called up at any time.
  17. I am going with no one. I think Biega is a warrior but lots of players of his skill level are available. Baertschi is probably seen as too fragile and Goldobin as too one dimensional.
  18. Would rather be the team waiving good players than the team that needs to pray for them to drop to us.

  19. Only it has been repeatedly shown there is no cap issue if they sent absolutely anyone down, so that doesn't explain it.
  20. That just doesn't seem to be Green's MO. They weren't left with much choice. Not saying they didn't hope he would help them sooner to "retool" but clearly it didn't work. We crossed that bridge long ago. That is true... for both of us. I suspect that Gaudette genuinely earned a chance in their eyes for a larger amount of playing time and they had to take someone out that would do them no good sitting on the bench. They weren't going to play him on a 3rd offensive line (less minutes) or a 3rd or 4th defensive line. I think they genuinely don't care if Schaller sits on the bench for most of the season. Maybe even Loui. The respectful thing is to give Baer a chance to play somewhere else. If he doesn't get claimed they have an asset they can call up any time.
  21. 100% disagree on both points. None of the players you listed are top 6 players. The logjam in the teams eyes is for top 6 playing time. Baertschi was not going to be competing for time with any of those guys. Beartschi was brought in to be a transitional player who could help bring the younger players up until he was overtaken by them. Mission accomplished. I was just as upset and surprised as anyone at first, but there is a rational explanation.
  22. I guess they don’t see it as a casualty if they weren’t going to give him playing time. Look at it this way. Any time given to Baer would be at the expense of younger players with potential getting that ice time instead. Cleary they weren't as worried about the logjam on the 4th line.
