It’s ok. The Canucks started their 3rd period play a bit earlier.

Miller has had a real “team-first” game so far. Have noticed him several times for selfless plays.

I agree with your comments in general. I think that it is to be expected that the oilers, who played much more recently in playoff hockey, and also have largely the same lineup for their power play (I think, I am no expert) may not have as much to adjust to as our lineup with key new players inserted. That was something I was thinking about during the game anyway, and often the special teams are the parts of the game that take the longest to adjust to on a new team. Do think they need to have some more options as it does tend to look pretty one dimensional.

Love the looks of the fourth line so far, and they have had their hands full.

Something people sometimes miss is that this stuff is as much for the players as for the fans. Team-building and yes even having a cute puppy visit helps to keep the team loose and build trust in each other. The curmudgeons on here getting all worked up about it need to ask if they think that the 20-24 year old players on the team might actually like getting to goof around a bit to enjoy what they do rather than just "focusing on hockey". I guarantee none of these folks have led a team of any kind in a high stress environment. Our team are making great strides in building a reputation as a great place to play. That helps you attract and keep the best players. You might not like puppies etc. but the players clearly sure as hell do.
