  1. It is evident Lockwood's absence has come with opportunity for Klimovich on the 2nd line now instead of Arseneau.
  2. Haven't seen Will Lockwood since the first period. Didn't notice him getting hit or making an awkward hit. Currenly Vincent Arseneau is taking his place with Di Giuseppe and Focht on the 2nd line.
  3. The Canucks may have a player in Karel Plasek. Man this kid is fast and fearless in board battles. Reign tie it up after the puck takes a weird bounce off the boards and skips in front to a wide open Reign player, no chance for Silovs. Silovs has been the reason the Canucks are still tied at 2, the defense has been pretty scattered in coverage tonight and a lot of bad pinches or reads in the neutral zone. I can see why Madison Bowey hasn't found himself back in the NHL, very much a high risk high reward guy.
  4. Canucks not getting a lot of zone time but they are very efficient when they are in the o-zone and capitalizing. 2-1 Canucks by Di Giuseppe
  5. They look okay but Ontario has possess the puck for much of the game. We are the more harder working team out there, but it hasn't led to much zone time. They are skating hard to disrupt lanes and doing a good job defensively tonight compared to yesterday against the Condors, but they don't have the high end game breaking skill in this group. Lots of good hard working prospects but not a lot of flash outside of Kilimovich. As I said before the lack of a playmaking center is hindering the breakouts and ability to sustain pressure as I noticed Dries, Rempal, and Stevens making a lot of blind passes that lead to nothing. The Abby Canucks need Petan and/or Dowling back. Silovs has been a rock tonight.
  6. Watching first 15 minutes of the game vs Ontario. Noticing that the Canucks are lacking a natural playmaker in the group right now. Im sure Cull would've been hoping Petan or Dowling with their group right now because the center depth is really thin and lacking players that have that natural ability to generate puck possession and set ups in the ozone. You can tell they also miss Jasek's presence, as there isn't really a centre right now that provides the same unique skill set. Rempal and Dries have played center but are mainly wingers, have been converted in the centre position and it shows as the Comets are losing faceoffs much like their parent club a lot. Also the lack of regular draft picks going through their system is quite apparent too compared to the Condors and Reign. Thus the level of high end skill is lacking with this Canucks group, but you can tell Cull's group is a hard working group.
  7. Ngl last nights game made me miss Roussel a bit haha. That game is right up his alley. He and Galrand wouldve just annoyed the hell put of the opposition.
  8. Garland living rent free in Detroit's and Philly's mind. Kid has heart, grit, and large cojones.
  9. I mean we poured it on late, but when you keep starting games with such lackluster efforts, you are just shooting yourself in the foot. Tbh this was the same issue last season, the team not showing up for large portions of the game and choosing to engage late. At some point you look at the way the coaching staff prepares their players but also at the leadership of the players. Other than Garland, there wasn't a lot of heart from this team tonight.
  10. Pettersson and Miller have been frustrating all game. Those two need to be split up, they just seem to feed off each other's bad habits and poor decisionmaking.
  11. I seriously hope that the refs union gets run over by a bus. The officiating has been horrible the first 3 games of the season.
  12. The execution level on passes has been piss poor tonight. None of them know how to make or receive one. Bunch of unskilled grinders.
  13. These are the moments that bring a team together. Garland worth every penny
  14. Why does this team constantly struggle with making proper line changes? Not getting pucks deep, changing when the puck isn't deep, and giving up odd man rushes or too many penalties? This team doesn't learn from their mistakes and its going to be costly overtime.
  15. The one minus of not having Beagle or Sutter, the Canucks faceoff ability has really suffered. Last two games the team has averaged less than 40% efficiency in the faceoff dot and tonight yet again the team is struggling mightily to win them. Very concerning.
  16. Not sure why but this group just seems to do such crippling errors to sabotage themselves. Its going to be another test of their mental strength. Continuously playing from behind really takes it out of players, this group can't keep playing like this.
  17. What a deflating 5 mins. This is why you keep pressing. Green told this team yo be too passive from the start of the third.
  18. Makes sense to not start Boeser off on a back to back and increasing the chance to re-injure himself.
  19. Really liked Podkolzin's debut. It was a bit quiet but he made all the right plays and was noticeable on the ice for good reasons. I do wonder whether he can carve out some special team's role of some sort. With Boeser and Motte both likely to be back within this road trip, Podkolzin might be one of the guys Green elects to healthy scratch because he doesn't play any other role other than on the fourth line. We all know Green's love for players to have more than a 5v5 role. It is crucial for Podz to gain the trust of coaching staff quickly and start making a name for himself either on the PP or PK. As I see it now, I see Dowling and Podkolzin the ones Green will take out.
  20. Very interesting that they are choosing to role 3 goalies in Abbotsford instead of loaning one of Silovs or Martin to the ECHL. Its going to be hard to give the two enough games throughout the season as I assume Mikey will get a big bulk of the games.
  21. I wonder what his height and weight measurement is now compared to when he was drafted by San Jose. He looks taller and heavier than 6'0'' and 179lbs. I'm really excited to eventually bring him over to N.A. he would make a very ideal big body PP player and bottom six scorer.
  22. Good effort to get the point, gutsy effort against a lethal offense. I hold this loss on Green. Too many men penalty has become far too frequent with this group. Its not acceptable. And you had Hughes and Hoglander, why did you chose Pearson to help tie the shootout up?
