https://floridahockeynow.com/florida-panthers-report-cards-forwards/ Juho Lammikko (44; 4-1, 5): After a couple of years playing in his native Finland, Lammikko showed his strong defensive play in a bottom-six role and added some scoring which was missing the last time he was here. Lammikko was played in a number of different situations as it was apparent the coaching staff placed a lot of faith in his defensive abilities. Final grade: C-plus.

https://gocheckers.com/articles/profiles/know-a-panthers-prospect-juho-lammikko WHO IS HE? FULL BIO Juho Lammikko is a 24-year-old forward who rejoined the Florida Panthers organization by signing a one-year, two-way contract last month. Originally a third-round draft pick of the Panthers in 2014, he spent three seasons playing with AHL Springfield and the Panthers before opting to go back to his native Finland for the 2019-20 campaign. Though the Panthers never lost control of his NHL rights, his new contract clears the way for an eventual return to North America. WHAT KIND OF PLAYER IS HE? A two-way center with respectable scoring totals at the AHL level (57 points in 143 games), he primarily anchored the fourth line and killed penalties during an extended NHL stint two seasons ago. Of his 20 career AHL goals, five came while shorthanded. WHAT HAPPENED LAST SEASON? After recording just six assists in his first NHL 40 games with the Panthers in 2018-19, he enjoyed an extremely productive return to his home country by scoring 51 points in 57 games with Karpat in Finland’s top division. He earned the league’s Player of the Month award in October and ranked second on the team in scoring behind Edmonton prospect Jesse Puljujarvi. WHAT'S HE DOING NOW? Lammikko is currently playing with Metallurg of the KHL, where he has posted eight points (6g, 2a) in 22 contests. WHAT’S A FUN FACT ABOUT HIM? He won gold medals with Finland at the 2016 World Junior Championship and the 2019 World Championship.

Precisely what I was thinking. Was a constant PK option in San Jose, takes draws (albeit not great) but very responsible defensively. I wonder if he could help lessen the blow of not having Brandon Sutter for the foreseeable future. -
Probably the right move. It won't be long before he is back with the big club. Get some really big minutes in Abbotsford, evolve his game on the PK and he will be up again at some point this season.

I wonder if Jack Rathbone gets his 7th straight preseason game tonight. Has anyone ever played all preseason games for us before? I've never noticed it before. -

The way Podkolzin and MacEwen each played such a heavy and powerful game respectively. We are going to rely on their heaviness throughout the season. I really liked how they didn't back down from the physical challenges. Ever since the Nurse fight, MacEwen has really been a thorn in the side of the Edmonton Oilers. Like that he was given looks on the PK and Powerplay netfront presence. I think he may have found himself here. -

Oilers couldnt convincingly beat us when we iced half an NHL lineup. I have a lot of confidence in our group heading into the season. -

Is this finally what does it for fighting in hockey? Couldve been worse. How much more of these incidents do we need? -

How is it that this team continues to make too many men infractions? Travis Green needs to get his crap together. That penalty is on him. Its happening too many times this preseason. -

I think Chiasson checked CDC and it seems to have lit a fire under him. -

In theory he seemed like a good option but he hasn't really done anything. I think a lot of this also comes down to not having all the compliment of players at camp and constant reshuffling of lines etc. I like him however as the net front presence on the PP. The lack of right handed shooters on this team is quite glaring which sort of leads into Chiassons advantage. -

Green seems to employ a very undiscipline system. Noticing the last 3 games how many penalties they are taking. -

I could see the Canucks potentially exploring claiming someone like Steven Santini or Nathan Walker from STL. They were in Utica last season due St Louis' AHL team folding for the season for covid, they were both big parts of the team last season for the Comets, so Ryan Johnson and Trent Cull would be very familiar with these two players. Considering we lost Jonah Gadjovich and with the injury to Brady Keeper I could see either one or both as tangible pieces brought into the fold for the year. -

With Gadjovich gone, it makes room for a Klimovich to see more top six minutes considering he too himself is a big unit as well. Training camp day 2 for the Canucks. -
Hindsight perhaps would say that but lots of fans, media, analysts in Vancouver were thinking Corrado at the time could develop potentially into a top 4 option. It sucks now to lose Gadjovich, but in the end he isn't going to be the difference maker if this team succeeds or not. But there will be players of Gadjovich's repertoire on waivers all the time. I think its fair for fans to be upset with this because of the potential Gadjovich might have, and the sentiment fans have over him, but in large its not the end of the world. Who knows may even get a chance to reclaim him, SJ have a ton of young players trying out in the bottom six.

That blueline though tonight. Hughes-Poolman Rathbone-Burroughs Hunt-Bowey Excited to see Hughes, but man thats going to be a high event hockey game from this group of 6.

In the grand scheme of things, it would suck to lose Gadjovich but its not a claim that I would lose sleep over. 31 teams are in the same conundrum of pairing down their players and team. There are tons of decisions and so many roster spots. A team would have to really really like him to claim him give him a look and decide he is better than some of the other fringe NHL players. Its possible, but in the end Jonah Gadjovich is an alright player. Had a strong camp and preseason in terms of establishing a baseline, but he didn't really generate enough in my mind to say yup he is ready for prime time. With him improving his skating and fitness quite honestly is not a huge development improvement rather it brought him to baseline of where Travis Green expects NHL quality players to be at. IMO, Jonah still needs to show more before we can consider him an NHL entity. Yes quite possibly deserved a look with the big club, butI'm not overly concerned about him being claimed or not. -
Not sure how that works, is this true? Interesting they called it a loan and not assigned or demoted.
