  1. Very disappointed, Rintoul and Surman + Jamie Dodd were doing such a great job. If anything this is making a very easy decision for the Canucks to choose CKNW when their broadcasting deal expires this summer with Sportsnet.
  2. Kinda curious, as a fan would you be prepared to start the season without Petey and Huggy if it meant getting a better deal? Or are you dead set on must have them there for the first day of the season at all costs? Part of me is already prepared to look at lines that don't feature Petey and Huggy for a while.
  3. not sure of the reliability of this source...this channel is run by Rob Simpson
  4. Really liked the Gadjovich-Wouters-Lockwood line together. Might be a line to use in the AHL for Trent Cull. Thought Juolevi looked very strong defensively tonight. DiPietro lights out good. The youngens looked very solid. Podkolzin was quiet but really liked his his overall game defensively and on the forecheck, made a few big hits as well.
  5. Im loving Ekman Larsson's physicality tonight. Did not know that was part of his game.
  6. Do you think DiPietro gets the full ride considering Silovs played last night?
  7. Travis Green met with media and had a tidbit about Brady Keeper, that he suffered a broken leg after blocking a shot in a scrimmage during training camp. Canucks losing another Dman, that depth is getting stretched here with Hughes unsigned, and Hamonic questionable to show up, have to wonder if they acquire another dman.
  8. Very good possibility, just as long as he isn't paired with OEL. I was listening to Craig Morgan on Sportsnet 650 when they had first acquired OEL and Garland, he shared that Demers (OEL's regular partner in Arz) did not compliment OEL's game very well, as both were prone to defensive lapses together, but when split apart they played quite well but Tocchet some reason felt married to that pair.
  9. If Travis Hamonic chooses to sit out the season or retire, could see the Canucks knocking on Sami's door for an opportunity.
  10. Can we end the persecution of Hamonic not wanting a vaccine bit now? Seems like too many people rushed to conclusions here.
  11. I was thoroughly impressed by Arturs Silovs game tonight. Considering when he was drafted and the few games I saw of him in Barrie, he has really found himself. He often looked very unorthodoxed and moving way too much, but he really seemed to quiet his movement down to stop pucks. I really liked what I saw from him, made a lot of key saves to keep us in it. Very impressed, a 20 year old basically fed to the wolves of Seattle's team and did quite well. The three goals he let in I don't fault him for it, he played very well.
  12. Great start, will be interesting how the young Canucks respond from a bigger push in the 2nd and 3rs. There are too many good vets on the Kraken, that they will settle in and pour on the pressure. Looking forward to see how this young group responds. Thought they looked a tad nervous to start but were opportunistic with their chances. Seattle made some errors but have been carrying the play for the most part.
  13. I am actually really excited to see what Karel Plasek is all about. Its been a hard time getting a read on what exactly the kind of player that he is. I heard from Sat Shah on 650 say that Karel Plasek's most notable trait was his speed and puck skills. Looking forward to see how that develops in Abbotsford.
  14. Saving him for tomorrow. They are trying to showcase the exciting pieces at home.
  15. Green said that the team will ice a more veteran roster for Monday's game as its the first game of the season in the new building. They will likely want to reveal the new faces like OEL, Garland, and Podkolzin in a home game. As well Green has a tendency in the first few games to role with the lines he set in training camp yo get a look in game. That is my rationale for a less than glamorous group going to Seattle. Like most split squad games or preliminary preseason games (especially an away game) generally Green has iced a largely inexperienced roster. The last time Van sent a very inexperienced group to CGY who iced basically their opening night roster lost 4 to 3. A team that starred only Sven Baertschi, Jay Beagle, Tim Schaller, and Jake Virtanen at the time as NHL vets
  16. My prediction of the roster for the game will be. Di Giuseppe-Dickinson-Chiasson Highmore-Dowling-Klimovich Dries-Stevens-Lockwood Plasek-Lockhart-Arseneau Juolevi-Schenn Hunt-Bowey Kannok Leipert - Woo DiPietro and Martin

  18. I can't tell what is worse. His shirt or his general pronunciation of player's names.
  19. last update of Petey and Huggy's contract situation from Dhali today.
  20. I like that Petan is succeeding in camp alongside Hoglander and Boeser. Gives us another option in case our top six centers go down. Also like it because perhaps this puts on more pressure on Pettersson's camp to get a deal done sooner. Someone else is in his spot with Boeser on the top line and that person is succeeding too.
  21. sadly no hockey will be watched Sunday or Monday on Sportsnet https://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/nhl/vancouver-canucks/canucks-at-camp-alex-chiasson-on-pto-brandon-sutter-tyer-motte-injured-justin-bailey-has-covid
