  1. Not that I want this, but my mind wandered to the idea what if for some reason Hughes and Pettersson continue to be unsigned at the start of the season, what would our team look like? I have: Hoglander-Miller-Boeser Pearson-Horvat-Garland Highmore-Dickinson-Podkolzin Di Giuseppe-Sutter-MacEwen Dowling OEL-Poolman Hunt-Hamonic Rathbone-Myers Juolevi/Schenn
  2. I wonder if the negotiating parties have the right number and term but are getting stuck on the structure of the deals like signing bonuses and what their potential last year QO would be. Will be interesting to see once the signings happen, what was the major sticking point for each party here.
  3. The longer this drags on I will lay a lot of the blame on Jim and management for allowing this to get to this point...however, once signed, I will be extremely critical of Peteys' and Hughes' games considering how much money they are demanding.
  4. The last season where he was relatively productive was with the Arizona Coyotes. I hope he can turn it around, very likable character. Arizona basically depleted their forward group of any offensive players besides Schmaltz, Keller, and Kessel, very likely Chucky will get lots of offensive looks.
  5. Going to miss his calls, one the best in the business for play by play commentary.
  6. Opens a huge door for Lockwood, Highmore, and Bailey to seize a spot in the top 12-14 forwards. Going to be a huge loss to the PK unit. The team just never seems to be the same without Motte
  7. Generally whenever the Canucks made their first two rounds of cuts, the players assigned to the Comets would immediately head to Utica to begin their own camp. I would imagine that Abby's training camp would start pretty quickly after Vancouver starts making cuts in training camp. Great thing is now instead of having to having to wait a few day for players to travel and settle in, just taking the highway down will allow Trent Cull and his staff to potentially get right into things.
  8. Couldn't have agreed more with Jasek's sentiments. When he first came over they asked him to play a less offensively oriented game and become a more defensive minded player. He did that. They asked him to play center the past two seasons due to positional shortages which was totally out of his usual niche, yet he did that and thoroughly succeeded. They asked him to be basically Utica's go to guy on all special teams, and he did that this past season. What more did he need to do? Not only this but he worked his tail off in the Czech league and barely got mins and had to fight his way out of that contract with Trinec so he could come to Utica. I can appreciate that they gave Gadjovich, Lockwood, Lind a look because of their status as prospects, but Jasek did everything the organization asked of him to and didn't get a look. I don't blame him for looking for a different option here. Could have very well burnt a bridge with him. He may choose to just wait his time out in Europe as his RFA status goes up at the end of 2025 season. Its a bit of shame cause I saw a pathway for him to succeed Sutter some point this season or next season to be our fourth line C.
  9. Small camp this year. Also lol Tristian Nielsen 6'10''...
  10. I'm seeing a lot of prospect development camps occurring across the NHL. Wonder if the Canucks will be having one too?

They are having a prospect camp next week but no young stars tournament I believe.

  11. Good for Richardson, was a very likable player when he was here.
  12. If the Canucks are in a contending for a playoff spot come near the TDL would love for them to bring him back to go for another run. The team is going to miss him on and off the ice.
  13. Was this on sportsnet 650? Interested to hear Patrick Johnston's take on that.
  14. Canada's overall defensive conscientiousness from the neutral zone to their own end has been sloppy hanging Desbiens out to dry. The skaters need to be quicker in closing gaps and clearing pucks, too much puck watching.
  15. Not a good start defensively for Canada. Lots of nerves for the young ladies on the blueline.
  16. Excited to see Poulin play this game tonight, she always seems to bring her very best against the Americans.
  17. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/cknw-serious-look-canucks-radio-rights Sounds like radio broadcasting contract for Canucks games with Sportnet ends this summer, so perhaps they may be waiting to centralize all their teams in one station outlet rather than establishing it and then switching a year later. The article above states that CKNW is interested in buying back Canucks radio rights. Although that is just the radio side of things, still not really clear how this is impacted tv wise. But I agree the inaugural season would create quite a draw especially for those in the Fraser Valley region and die hard Canuck fans. I sure hope they come to some sort of agreement, I always love watching more hockey, especially if it relates to our team.
  18. Sportsnet currently does not contain AHL broadcasting rights. Johnston speculates a potential partner in Abbotsford might pick up broadcasting rights, but nothing confirmed yet. Would be a huge shame to bring the team over to Abbotsford and not capitalize on broadcasting on TV and/or radio exposure, especially if this team is going to be really good.
  19. Edler training with several Canuck and former Canuck players (Stecher and some others I can't quite identify) out in Vancouver yesterday. Black and white looks strange on Eddy. Going to miss him.
