  1. I hope he's not given any kind of NTC/NMC.
  2. I think it's time for Benning to go tbh. Give Brackett the GM job.

The Han Dynasty was a joke lol, though I am not sure on the timelines, maybe it was done quicker who knows::D??  It was merely a response to 'JB is building a dynasty'  Though I enjoyed the breakdown comparison, maybe Benning should use more violence.

Ironman I know you weren't defending the LE signing but I've seen others say 'Well LE turned out better than Lucic, score one for Benning.'  Sorry for the confusion.

personally, i’ld like benning to get 2 more years to build this team. if we are still at the bottom of the league, then change him. the rebuild didn’t really start till boeser’s draft. thing is, some of the picks they’ve had will still be 1 or 2 more years till they make the nhl.

funny thing. everyone on here shouted don’t trade draft picks for players further along in their development. now people are saying we should trade picks for players on the narrow end of a slippery slop.

my opinion is, you make a plan for your team and you stick to it.

fans don’t mind a rebuild, as long as it doesn’t take more than 6 months.  they don’t dwell on the trades or FA's JB makes that are good, but just the ones that don’t turn out.

draft picks, pettersson, boeser, hughes, gaudette, woo, juolevi, virtanen, lind, madden, lockwood, sautner, demko and dipietro.

trades, pearson, motte, baertschi, goldobin, sutter, granlund, leivo, spooner, and schenn

FA, roussel, beagle, ericksson, schaller, stecher,, teves and rafferty

horvat, edler, tanev and markstrom were already here.

now i might just be a hick from the sticks, but i think that is a good start to a rebuild.

we need 2 skilled top six wingers and 2 young skilled d-men.

right now we have 10 bottom six wingers for maybe 3 spots. plus we have to use 2 of them on the top 2 lines until we can find suitable players to take those spots.

@Tre Mac Lol yeah I mean Pettersson, Boeser, and Hughes are sure looking like fringe pieces.

There's no way we will build around these clearly foundational players.

Some of you people are so silly. You don't realize how good you have it.

  3. Ristolainen isn't that good and certainly won't save our defense. I'd rather keep Thatcher D, who projects to be an NHL player. It's tempting, though. 40+ point, young right-shot defenseman with size. I just worry that his faults can't be coached out of his game.
  4. https://m.soundcloud.com/tyller-snow/info-dope-game-royce-da-59-cocaine-remix Not sure how old this guy is lol but it's not bad
  5. I've been reading back in this thread and have been repping posts I thought were underrated. Rly wanted to give some props to the team for the bestselling book this is turning into. I'm not saying we're there yet--I think this story died at 'octpus,' sadly, and I'm sorry guys because it may have held us back a bit when I said that. But if you read the second half of the thread and compare it to the first, we are miles better writers today churning out a lot of stuff that makes me giggle. S/o guys.
  6. I've never seen this guy play. Here are my strong opinions: It's always exciting when the team signs a player out of college; there are lots of examples of players who aren't drafted, go the NCAA route and ultimately work their way through an NHL farm system before contributing well at the highest level. We've historically had luck with these types of contracts, so I'm hopeful. It's intriguing that he made the transition from forward to defense so late in his development, and the growth spurt he's said to have undergone reminds us of one Chris Tanev (whose own spurt may have been a bit later than Brogan's? I don't remember). I believe it's paramount for NHL teams to have defenders capable of producing offense--or at least who are able to conduce offensive production in other players on the ice... so I'm quite happy to see management pursuing a contract with a player who purportedly has good abilities in skating and puck-moving and potentially the offensive instincts to make everything work. Right shot, 6'2, free prospect. There's not much to complain about here. If he works out, A+; if he doesn't, there's basically nothing lost beyond the opportunity cost of signing someone else in the months before our contracts drop down to ~30.
  7. If Chicago doesn't win today, they're the worst hockey team in all of history. No take-backs.

meh, I rank them "higher" than the Laffs, Coilers, and Flamers.  Actually....anybody not named the Canucks can go to "h-e-double hockey sticks".

  9. Pettersson - Dach - Boeser would be sick filth, NHL might ban it. That's the kind of line you give a name to.
  10. Yeah, Jabba was always highly quotable.
  11. I'll be ok with this but only so Seattle can't go for a primary blue OR primary green jersey when they enter the league. Wear them at least 20 times in each season before the expansion. Make Seattle learn to hate us quickly.
  12. Dach has elite hockey sense imo. He's going to be a scary player in the NHL. People think he's lazy because he always knows where to be.
