Had there been no WHA , Gordie would have had over another 400 games
I'm not super well-learned on the history, but I'm not sure Gordie would have unretired if there had been no WHA.
e: if memory serves, Houston reached out to Gord and asked him to consider coming back to the game.

Chalk this one up to another stolen 2 points for Marky. Stopped 8 Grade A chances in the last ten minutes of the game.
I'll wait around again to argue with the people who still think this is considered average goaltending that most teams in the league get this on a consistent basis.
It seems he might be a Tim Thomas.

I was lucky enough to choose clear braces, which are just a clear porcelain version of the metal, but still look a lot less like a chain link fence was installed in my mouth.
The flossing is definitely annoying, but it's the slurring when I talk now that I hate.
Can I ask if it was painful to have them installed?

This is brilliantly moving and beautiful. Wow, wish I could write like this. Fantastic.
Thank you, Deb. I appreciate the compliments.
I know you know that most things are practice. I'm not particularly good at writing in all honesty, although it's very fun to try to be better. I think it's just easy for me to impress people because I didn't shy away from working to be better over a long period of time. I always encourage people to take up creative outlets if they don't have any--I'm much more fulfilled as a person having taken up writing and music, and I'm sure you'll find if you enjoy what you're doing and dedicate a modest amount of time to it, you'll be in a position where people say the same things to you on the reg. What holds an individual back in a lot of what they do (we've all done this and more than once) is that they approach something but don't know exactly where to start and it shies them away from continuing with it. But there's resources for everything, and it's never going to be a damaging thing to you to just try something on your own and let the synapses fire, to speak like a YA author.
To quote someone from the extra-site Mafia community (parodying Michael Jordan): "I've mislynched more than 9,000 fellow townies in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to vote last in F3 and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." ~ NAC Jordan

Just now, cuporbust said:Craziest part though is even Boeser at 23, people were shocked at the draft. Everyone was like " who the hell is Brock Boeser ". Almost everyone was clammerimg for Merkley when he fell. Nobody was expecting that pick, or really the Pettersson pick, and they just might be the two best draft picks in franchise history ( for where we got them).
Pettersson was on the 1st round radar, but i still remeber everyone being upset when news broke they brought him in for a seond interview and may not pick Cody Glass ( the consensus obvious pick for us in that spot ).
Bure in the 6th round was decent value.

I think if Jake hits 50 pts thats one more 1st rounder that worked out, and all thats left really is Juolevi cracking the top 4 and its a heck of a record. Podkolzin is going to be a fan favourite imo with that work ethic. Good times.
The success outside of the first round lately is some of the best we've experienced as well.

I still maintain that we should draft only defencemen barring extremely obviously better choices.

Just an observation, but Lind, like Miller for the Canucks, takes a ton of faceoffs for Utica. Wonder if, like Jasek, he might get converted to centre? Now that could be simply that Utica has a shortage of talented centres and a surplus of wingers.
Yeah- I was looking over the Utica roster a bit ago and was struck by how few true centres they're running with at the moment.
I think the learning process is funky and that the brain can get better at things if it does a similar task for a time and then returns to the initial one. I don't think Lind is very likely to be a primary centre on the Canucks for the entirety of this core, but I'm all for him being developed to play it sometimes on the Comets; it's possible it would help round out his game in a better way than playing winger all the time would, and it'd be cool if he could take draws for the big team, fill in as C for injuries and play it sometimes if the coach wants to shake the team up and juggle lines--just makes him all the better asset.
