  1. I'm still a bit confused about it all. The Whitecaps twitter account posted a series of tweets quoting Carl Robinson saying he flew to Mexico to talk with Camilo and see where he's at, but there was no mentioning of the reports that have been made about Camilo being sold already. I don't see him coming back to Vancouver after all of this, but it would be nice if the Whitecaps organization officially announced something.
  2. I don't think $1.5 million is enough. There's no official statement from the Whitecaps or MLS but Dan Murphy retweeted this: Tyler Green ‏@tylergreenFC2h Paty Fernandez of ESPN reporting Camilo Sanvezzo's move to Queretaro is done. #MLS #VWFC #LigaMX Retweeted by Dan Murphy Tyler Green ‏@tylergreenFC 2h #WhitecapsFC will receive $1.5 million for Camilo from Queretaro according to reports. Tyler Green ‏@tylergreenFC1h Darren Mattocks must be the happiest #WhitecapsFC player right. No one is talking about his stupid comments anymore. Everyone hates Camilo
  3. I disagree. I think you sign Camilo at all costs. He was our MVP, and the MLS golden boot winner. You don't just let that type of player walk, unless it is absolutely impossible to sign him. And as long as Vancouver is playing on artificial turf, they will struggle to sign a DP from Europe or anywhere outside North America. Mattocks is severely over rated, Miller is aging, Salgado hasn't proven anything except to be injury prone, and Clarke hasn't even played in the MLS yet. Manneh and Hurtado are the only forwards who are somewhat reliable, and last season they both struggled with consistency. Without Camilo the Caps will be one of the lowest scoring teams in the league, and it would be a miracle to make the play offs. I love the 'Caps and I'll be supporting them 100% no matter what happens in the off season, but if Camilo leaves, the 2014 season does not look good.
  4. Murph retweeted this today. Lenarduzzi better get Camilo signed for a new deal pretty quickly. Camilo was a huge reason the Caps didn't finish a lot lower in the standings than they actually did last season. Paul Chapman ‏@PaulC141h Despite legal letters, threats, venting of anger from #Whitecaps, Camillo training with Mexican team. Slaps in the face getting stronger Retweeted by Dan Murph
  5. Solid game by everyone tonight, really needed a performance like that. Hopefully Canada can do the same in their qualifiers and the Caps can carry they're momentum into the Portland game.
  6. I'm a Robson fan, the guy has talent and he's a hard worker, but sometimes I shake my head at his demands/complains/etc. Great 1st half for Van! Had the majority of possession and they're looking deadly. Love Richards' speed, great finish too. Koffie's shot was perfect, and hopefully Miller is just taking extra precautions. a third hamstring injury would be a big blow.
  7. Hopefully this is all just rumours, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's true. Robson has been really demanding, almost as if he is acting as captain. Jay is no doubt the leader of this team, but Robson seems to take things too far sometimes when he's yelling at his team mates or complaining to the officials.
  8. Again, not a fan of Rennie's starting line up selection. Thorrington in for Camilo? That should be an obvious choice... Brazil > South Africa. I'm not a huge fan of O'Brien either, I prefer Bonjour quite a bit more. Is there any word on the extent of the injuries to Mattocks and Thorrington?
  9. Another frustrating game. Didn't like Rennie's exclusion of Mattocks from the starting 11. Didn't like Rennie subbing out Robson for Watson. It's a 0-0 game, most important match of the season, and you want to start packing the box and playing D? That's a joke. It just doesn't seem like the team is gelling right now, there have been so many bad passes/decisions with the ball and we hand back possession to the opponent. I hope they can get out of this slump, if that's what you call it, at home now. They can't afford to lose anymore games.
  10. Anyone watch El Clasico today? Hala Madrid! Great game for the whites. I posted the link to the match highlights. Ridiculous skill from Cristiano to play the ball to himself on his goal, and a perfect free kick from Messi. I really hope there is a Real Mardid/Barca Champions League final. 11. As much as Robson can rub people the wrong way, he is solid. He controls the midfield really well with Koffie. I would love to see him stop barking at all his team mates though, doing that all game isn't going to accomplish much. I'm in the same boat as you right now, I'm not a fan of the mid season overhaul, but I think the team just needs to build a bit of chemistry.
  12. Boundary Road is pretty good, but nobody really knows it aside the from the Southsiders.
  13. So we should have kept paying Hassli the big bucks, to sit on the bench? When he did start the games he could barely finish them. Great talent obviously, but not worth the money we were paying him. Wait to judge all the new players until the end of the season. There is still plenty of time for them to prove you wrong.
  14. Do we really want Dallas to win that game, or do we want LA to win? I think it would be better if LA won, we then are only 3 points back of them, and Dallas is still 5 points back. I'd feel safer being 5 points up on 6th and 3 points back on 4th than being tied for 4th and having Dallas only 2 points back.
