[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Anaheim Ducks | Apr. 11, 2023

Its too late now anyway... management/ownership made up their mind they wanted some short term ticket sales over a long term improvement. We will see who is left over... cause left overs is what the diet will be. -

As I predicted we are now in 11th place. Will take a lot of luck to move down. Why again was it that we needed to fire Boudreau at the point we did? So the owner could get a few more butts in seats? Anyway, the chances of the team drafting well just went into the toilet... and ANY chance at Bedard just disappeared. -

Positives: - They didn't worsen their draft position - Team showed some fiesty spirit... JT Miller and Dries didn't back down - Pettersson wants 100... he kept playing till the end - Delia played decently... he could be a backup next year if Demko takes the lion's share of games -
The Kings didn't finish high, but their position in the standings was misleading. Quick then is much better than Korpisallo... Quick was the best goalie in the NHL the first year they won. Kopitar was a monster... Dowdy was the best D-man in the league. They had multiple 20 goal scorers, including Brown and Pearson. Kings will go nowhere in the playoffs this year.

I'm not a huge fan of the Flames, but they had some knives in the back which set up this season. Rat #1 Gaudreau and Rat #2 Tkachuk made it basically impossible for them to recover. Their management made a try by signing Kadri and Huberdeau, but neither of them were capable of the production of Gaudreau and Tkachuk, and neither of them had particularly good seasons. Plus Lindholm fell off a cliff compared to last year. I wouldn't write off the Flames for next year though... I expect Huberdeau, Lindholm and Kadri to play better and I also expect changes in the forward lines... a lot of the older guys are likely to be recycled out of the team. Meanwhile #1 Rat Gaudreau is stuck on a pathetic bottom feeder. And #2 Rat Tkachuk's arrival did something to the chemistry on the Panthers... they suck this year, although likely they will squeak into the playoffs... long way from where they finished last year and the year before.
