  1. Wrong. By any statistical evaluation he was the 4th best D-Man on the team the year he played. His minutes were #6 but that was because WD had a hate on for him for some reason.
  2. Bullsh*t penalty to kill the goal. The San Jose players stick went up because the Colorado backchecker lifted it. Not his action. Clear the NHL has told the Refs to penalize the Sharks whenever possible. I am not cheering for the Sharks but the NHL is compounding the previous error which allowed them to win the Vegas series with bad officiating in this series. This is the worst of the 'Even Up' style of Reffing which happens in the NHL all the time when an incompetent Ref make a bad call then decides to fix his previous stupid decision. NHL needs to have automatic video review on all goals for 1 minute prior to the goal and the option for a team to call for a review for any reason. That would have erased the stupid penalty on Vegas and this stupid penalty causing a no goal.
  3. Sharks really wasted a superlative effort by Jones.... can't expect him to stand on his head every night.
  4. I was not a big fan of his writing, but sad to see someone so young pass away prematurely. Best wishes to his family.
  5. Colorado getting the bounces right now... that 2nd goal puck must have bounced four times before Rantanen got it for the backhand pass to Wilson.
  6. NHL has told the Refs to call San Jose on everything, and Colorado on nothing. They don't want the Sharks to win the Cup and stain the NHL with the fact they got to the finals as a result of the poor call deciding the Vegas series.
  7. #1 If the Sharks squander the opportunity Jones is giving them with his goaltending, they will be in trouble. He is trying his best to steal the game... but is getting no support. #2 Erik Karlsson is playing better in this game than at anytime in the playoffs so far... he is skating and passing well... not Ottawa level, but if he can get back to 75% of what he was with the Sens, that will be a huge factor. #3 MacKinnon is a BEAST.
  8. #1 priority after the 1st pick has got to be for Benning to sign Tryamkin and bring him back to Van. He is everything which the Canucks need... a big intimidating stay at home D who has reach, who can control the boards and can wheel out of his own end when the opportunity presents itself. His acquisition would immediately make life safer for EP, Boeser and the goalies. He is exactly the type of player who would thrive in the playoffs.... just like Chara does.
  9. This is the guy the Canucks should be targeting. If it means giving up a piece to Edmonton, then so be it.
  10. Broberg is the guy... he is in the Canucks slot in the Draft rankings too. Big, mobile, and intelligent.... the second coming of Alex Edler. (Eddie before his back injury cut down on his skating and hitting)
  11. Refs are tilting the ice in favour of Boston... overlooking cheap shots and dirty play by Boston and penalizing anything by Columbus.
  12. Kelly Sutherland gets a pass because he does exactly what the League wants him to do... fix the playoffs in favour of those teams with inside pull.
  13. I know the playoffs supposedly don't count for the Calder voting, but I really think the deeper the Blues go into the playoffs, the better Binnington's chances are. He was supposedly not eligible for only playing part of the season, then supposedly not eligible for being older... but was nominated anyway. The NHL knows the St Louis market has not been doing great for 15 years, and having a Calder winner will sell tickets next year no matter how well the Blues do in the post season. I think the NHL, given a close comparison, will pick an American player from an American team anytime over a Swede from a West Coast Canadian team.
  14. Gotta disagree with the majority of the voters in this prediction thread... I think Boston is more likely to pull this one off if they continue uninjured. In fact, gotta think now that Washington and all the other Divisional winners are done, Boston has to be one of the Cup favourites.
  15. Objectively the Leaf's situation is not that bad. Yes, they will have CAP problems... yes, they did throw money around and inked some stupid signings. But they still do have an excellent young core and they will be able to unload some of their poorer signings. Nylander should garner a decent return... assuming they realize they need to trade him. They should ask for prospects, they don't want CAP coming back. Leafs are in nowhere near as bad a shape as Edmonton. But Leafs management needs to realize they will have to scale back their ambitions and realize they are still in building mode for the next two years.
  16. The year of the upset... I picked the Caps to win it all again... but they always have trouble with their first round series. This game was wrapped and done at 3-1 and then the Caps let their foot off the gas and let the Canes back in. The Caps are definitely a better team, but Rod Brind'Amour is definitely got this Carolina team believing and working hard to achieve their goals. Not sure Carolina will get much further, but give them credit, they are a TEAM.
  17. It's the end of the Sharks/Knights game... why am I seeing hilights and interviews from the Toronto game when I have already seen them 25 times before and its 2:00 in the morning in T.O.??? Are these people at SportsNet really that stupid??? Give it a freakin' break... TORONTO LOST.
  18. Sharks really didn't deserve to win... the refs call for the Pavelski dump was not a good one... that was a simple hockey play, at best a two minute interference play. Was not an intentional injury by the Vegas players. And I thought Vegas was the better team in OT. But that's hockey. My prediction is the Sharks will not get past the Avalanche. The Sharks are too banged up. Erik Karlsson is skating on 1 leg, Pavelski likely gone for a game or two... Joe Thornton looked like he was gonna have a heart attack in that OT.
  19. Not by me.... it's like watching a stupid dog barf, then eat the barf, then barf, then eat the barf, then barf..... and so on.
  20. Yep... that's exactly the point.... they need to trade someone. But Doughty won't be traded.... LA is trying to rebuild on the fly. They want to win now while Doughty, Kopitar and Quick still have some mileage left. Subban could be for sale though.
  21. I really hate the way Marchand plays dirty... but he is a hell of a hockey player. On the other hand I really love the way Bergeron plays... the definition of a complete player. MacAvoy is a gem... great young defenseman. Chara is a sonuvab*tch, but also a hell of a player. And Rask gets the job done. I really dislike Boston, but no question they have an excellent team.
