It doesn't necessarily make you a bad coach either as demonstrated. There's no proven science behind it. Maybe Green isn't the right guy or maybe he and the team are simply going through a rough patch and will bounce back like they've shown they could.
Funny because these were all the points that many have brought up as being why it was good to draft him from the day we did draft him. Some people are just too impatient and expect immediate stardom or they're supposedly failing or being failed in some way. The concept of development seems lost on some.
Nah even when we win, they find something to whine about. We got outshot/relying too much on goaltending, PP sucks, Loui shouldn't be in the lineup, Green has B.O., Myers hasn't found the cure for cancer, etc.
Yes but you're suggesting that we "squandered points" due to Green being stubborn with Edler on the PP. I showed that our record disagreed. Loui wasn't in the lineup then, but he was also part of the lineup and was a key player during a hot streak not long ago. Hughes was part of the 1st unit PP even when we had that rough patch. There have been positive and negatives with the moves, it's not all fire Green moves.
Considering that Benning has said there is a plan, then I'm fine with speculating what the plan is. However there are several posters that still believe that Benning has no foresight and has run this team into shambles with the cap, or in other words has no plan.
I guess my point is that it doesn't matter when his "cup of coffee" will be as long as he's ready to hopefully earn a spot and stick when he gets that chance. Benchmarking him against other draftees that haven't played a game yet doesn't mean much.
I can understand getting some input on the progress of some prospects and if we were to make a trade, which we should give up. But this can be done on the phone, I don't see a need for the director to be present in the room.
As for picks, the scouting department simply needs to find the best picks available at the spots we are in. Hard to tell this early where teams will end up so it'll be hard to pinpoint which picks to target, that's done closer or at the draft. The only real input might be if there was a player they're really high on and think they can sneak them with a 2nd round pick and we should acquire that, then sure. But even then I imagine it'll be done at the draft rather than the TDL where the priority is more on focusing on the playoffs.
Almost if Benning had planned for the expansion unlike what some here seem to think that Benning just does as he pleases regardless of everything. Funny coming from a poster that was just ridiculing others about some dream fantasies of the cap situation. If those people were dreaming, then he must be living in some nightmare world.
