Whatever decision Brackett makes, wish him the best. If he would like a bigger role and can find it elsewhere, then he deserves it and I fully support him. If he stays, then he can see the fruits of his labour come together and hopefully win a Cup that is contributed by his help. Would love to keep him, but good people deserve the opportunities. I don't see this as any clash between him and Benning if he doesn't accept. They seem to enjoy working together and hopefully he will want to see things through before his next endeavor.

And that was only because the team that had a deal balked on their offer and tried to low ball us. We didn't want to set that precedent. Paid off in the following trade deadline.

Good thing Vegas fired their coach to right that ship and for Arizona making the bold trade of adding Hall for their "playoff run". Didn't seem long ago that many were calling for coaching changes and making trades to shake things up. Funny how things work sometimes. -

Trust the process. -
At our rate now, 26-5-1 feels achievable. Let's win that conference baby!

Every team should not extend beyond ELCs. Careers are done now at age 23. -

What is our recent record? Where are we in the standings? What's our goal differential? All this and there's still someone that has found a way to question Green still in a game that we won to boot. Go figure. -

Playoff hockey. -
Yes we shared with Atlanta Thrashers at that time. It was some pretty gloomy times for developmental purposes. Probably why we moved on to add Utica to our system.
-
Capfriendly lists him as needing to be protected.
-
He played like this in the world junior as well, the difference was the players he passed to couldn't bury it, so less spotlighted. The tenacious forecheck/backcheck is signature to his game. Nice to see that he's getting rewarded now.
-
Assuming because we don't have to hear about his poor development in the KHL anymore.
-
I must've missed something, why is AHL leading scorer Boucher not in the skills competition and I'm assuming the game as well?
-
I agree...for Edmonton. They had 50% of that list there (Reinhart acquired through trade).
-
I think Tryamkin wants the Tanev type role, which is the role he's currently playing in the KHL. Willie D tried to make him be more aggressive, but that didn't bode well for Nikita. Maybe it was the way it was told of him to do so, who knows.

Cap Hell for Canucks!!! (GREAT NEWS from Daly re: CAP for next year!!)
theo5789 replied to HKSR's topic in Canucks Talk
Stecher is averaging 14+ mins this year. So it would seem as if we are in that position if that's the standard. He played "top 4" minutes and was serviceable when our dmen were depleted (so did Hutton and we let him walk and no one offered him a deal he thought he would get) and I commend him for that, but those were also some of our poor seasons. It's no surprise that our team has upticked this year and Stecher's minutes have gone down because he hasn't been needed to rely upon as much this season. I never said Tryamkin would walk right into a top 4 spot. My expectation this season is to keep Tanev for the playoff push and move Stecher so if/when Tryamkin returns this season, he starts as a bottom pairing guy. My belief is that he has grown his game in his time in the KHL and is currently playing top pairing minutes there (one of the biggest knocks on him was conditioning and playing those kinds of minutes would suggest he's past that) including top PK minutes. He's admitted that he needed to mature and wasn't ready when he was here the first time. In his time here, he averaged 17 minutes a night, so it's not really a reach to think that he could play up to 18-19 minutes with the growth in his game and a transition period to readjust back while taking over some of Tanev's PK time (who I don't expect to be back either). If we could afford to retain Tanev, then I would pick Tanev over Stecher even at that cost. Because of the right cap constraints, then that would be a feasible alternative, although I probably wouldn't be thrusting Stecher in our top 4 full time and therefore I wouldn't value him at that price either. I would need to see if Tryamkin returns and how he fares and see what Rafferty can do in some time up before I can determine the importance of retaining Stecher. Although the writing is kind of on the wall in that he's averaging the least amount of time on ice on the defense, even below Benn and Fantenberg. -
My bad I misread.
